[MythicalBeastCafeteria] Chapter 48.1 — Are You a Bluebird?

When Thirty Bird heard Qian Duoduo’s question, he remained calm and composed, “That’s right, our Bird Delivery is that fast.”

Thirty Bird pulled his mask up a little, mentally searching for the precautions Luo Huai’an had told him, and explained, “Other delivery drivers are slow because they have to deliver many orders at the same time. But our Bluebird Delivery provides one-on-one service. When we receive your order, we will immediately dispatch a delivery driver to deliver the food to you without taking a detour, so of course it’s faster.”

After saying that, Thirty Bird felt a little guilty, because he had actually cheated to get Qian Duoduo’s money.

One-on-one service was just a pretense to appease customers.

If he weren’t worried about startling the guests, he wouldn’t have taken even ten minutes to deliver it. He could fly at the speed of a cannonball and arrive here in five seconds.

Qian Duoduo’s eyes lit up instantly when he heard about one-on-one service, and he suddenly realized. Then, a feeling of being flattered welled up in his heart; this was really too much manpower.

When Qian Duoduo checked his phone before, he found the delivery fee was a bit high. He thought it was a rip-off at the time, but now he felt it was worth it. Getting takeout within ten minutes of ordering was simply irresistible for a starving person.

“Thank you so much,” Qian Duoduo said gratefully.

After Qian Duoduo finished speaking, he was about to close the door, but Thirty Bird showed no sign of leaving and remained standing at the door.

Qian Duoduo asked, puzzled, “Is there anything else?”

Thirty Bird scratched his head, a little embarrassed, and said, “Could you give me a five-star review? Please, it really means a lot to me.”

Luo Huai’an set rules for them: if they received more five-star reviews on a given day, they could play on the computer a little longer that evening. Although each positive review only added ten minutes, every little bit helps. They worked much harder than before, striving for those five-star reviews.

Qian Duoduo was quite lazy and didn’t usually give five-star reviews intentionally; he always waits for the system to automatically give them. But today, Qian Duoduo experienced Bluebird Delivery’s god-like speed and was still excited. He patted his chest and said, “I’ll give you one right now.”

Qian Duoduo confirmed delivery on the app and gave a five-star review.

Bird Thirty breathed a sigh of relief and said gratefully, “Thank you, I’ll be going now. Enjoy your meal.”

“Goodbye.”

Qian Duoduo waved to him and then closed the door.

Qian Duoduo placed the boiled meat slices and rice on the table, feeling both happy and somewhat bewildered. The takeout had arrived even faster than his friend, catching him completely off guard.

He then sat down and called his friend. “Hey, I’m telling you, the food delivery from your school has arrived here.”

“Wow, that’s great!” His friend was delighted to hear that. After a while, as if remembering something, he suddenly added, “You ordered takeout for me, so you’ve helped me out. I can share some with you. But you have to wait for me to come before you eat.”

Qian Duoduo was speechless. “What’s wrong? We’re childhood friends, and you’re looking down on me?”

His friend said awkwardly, “Oh, it’s not that I’m criticizing you. The food in the Eighth Cafeteria was amazing, even better than what the chefs at restaurants make. I was just worried you’d finish it all.”

Qian Duoduo felt underestimated, so he snorted. “Don’t worry, your brother Qian is good for nothing but eating. He’s eaten countless delicacies and would never look at your boiled meat slices.”

“Okay.”

Just then, Qian Duoduo accidentally bumped into the bag. He hurriedly straightened the bag, took out the boiled meat slices from the bag, and wanted to check if the boiled meat slices had spilled.

Hearing the noise, the friend on the other end immediately asked, “What’s wrong?”

Qian Duoduo glanced at the packaging of the boiled meat slices and found that it was very well sealed and hadn’t spilled at all. He breathed a sigh of relief. “I accidentally knocked the bag over, but luckily it was well packaged, so it didn’t spill.”

His friend also breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile, “I’ll be at your dorm in about five minutes. Hurry up and open the door to greet your ancestor.”

The friend thought Qian Duoduo would laugh and scold him, but suddenly there was silence on the other end. Confused, the friend asked, “Qian Duoduo? Why aren’t you saying anything?”

But Qian Duoduo didn’t say anything. After a while, the sound of packaging being opened came from the other end. A little while later, the sound of disposable chopsticks being broken came from the microphone.

The friend gradually realized something was wrong, and his eyes widened as a very likely guess popped into his mind. “Qian Duoduo, don’t touch the boiled meat slices. Didn’t I say to wait for me to do it?”

At this moment, Qian Duoduo finally spoke.

He stuck his chopsticks into the boiled meat slices and said, “I didn’t start it, this boiled meat slices did. It smells so good! The aroma of Sichuan peppercorns is so refreshing. Please let me have a bite, please.”

This was the boiled meat slices that Luo Huai’an just made. After the meat slices were cooked, she poured hot oil over them. The hot oil sizzled as it was poured over the meat slices.

Because it’s summer now, and the delivery time was short, the aroma of spicy oil hits you as soon as you open the package.

The broth was a vibrant red, the meat slices were tender and white, the chili peppers were bright red, the scallions were emerald green, and there were a variety of other ingredients. Stir it gently, and the aroma filled the air and warms your heart.

The color, aroma, taste, and appearance of the boiled meat slices were all incredibly tempting to Qian Duoduo’s taste buds; just looking at them made you imagine how delicious they must be.

Qian Duoduo’s stomach rumbled, and before his friend could answer, he picked up a slice of meat.
