[MythicalBeastCafeteria] Chapter 47.3 — Boiled Meat Slices

Then Qi Ze saw Luo Huai’an place a bowl of boiled pork slices in front of him and say, “Eat.”

Boiled meat slices was a dish from the ‘street food’ tradition. It didn’t win with elaborate preparation or fancy plating, but rather with its generous serving, abundant ingredients, and flavor, brimming with the boldness and spirit of the ‘street food’ community.

A white porcelain bowl was half-filled with red soup, glistening with oil, covering three or four slices of tender white pork tenderloin.

The rich aroma of the red broth filled the air and entered the nasal cavity, instantly stimulating the senses. Just smelling the aroma was enough to conjure up the spicy and numbing flavor of boiled meat slices.

Qi Ze originally wanted to focus on finishing revising his thesis, but the aroma was just too tempting. He paused his typing and told himself that since it was his boss’s kindness, he should take a bite first.

He picked up the white porcelain bowl and elegantly used his chopsticks to pick up a slice of meat.

The piping hot slices of meat, soaked in the red broth, entered his mouth, and the numbing and spicy flavor hit taste buds directly. However, this spiciness was not overpowering at all; on the contrary, it was quite mild.

With one bite, the tender slices of meat burst with savory juices. The meat, coated in oil, was incredibly tender and broke apart with the slightest pull, leaving a lingering, smooth sensation.

The combination of tender slices of meat and spicy, fragrant red soup gave Qi Ze a wonderful feast for his tongue, a taste experience he had never had before.

After finishing half a bowl of boiled meat slices, Qi Ze felt all his fatigue disappear.

He put his hands back on the keyboard, his mind cleared, and he wrote the paper faster.

Qian Duoduo was a student at Jiangcheng University, which was next to the University of Aeronautics. He was extremely surprised and skeptical after seeing a University of Aeronautics’ cafeteria trending online.

He was planning to ask a friend from Aero U to take him to the school for a meal over the weekend.

Unexpectedly, his friend sent him a message before the weekend could arrive: [Qian Duoduo, our cafeteria is now offering off-campus delivery! Are you in the dorm? Could you order me something?]

When Qian Duoduo saw the message and link his friend sent him, he was completely bewildered. There were so many things to complain about that he didn’t even know how to begin.

Was the Eighth Cafeteria at Aero U now offering off-campus delivery services?

And why would my friend from Aero U ask me to order for him?

He sent his questions, but his friend didn’t reply. Instead, he kept urging him to order, saying that there were only fifty servings available at noon and he had to rush to buy.

Upon hearing the words ‘rush to buy’, Qian Duoduo felt an urgency well up inside him, as if his DNA was being activated, and he had no choice but to open the delivery app. At noon, he managed to snag a serving of boiled meat slices.

His friend was overjoyed when he learned that he had managed to snag a takeout order. He called to say, “Our school starts selling boiled meat slices at 11 a.m., and over a hundred servings sold out in no time. Those freshmen are really fast; I couldn’t compete with them at all. So I had to find another way and order takeout from outside the school to get my boiled meat slices.”

Qian Duoduo was speechless. “You’re exaggerating a bit too much. How good can the food in the cafeteria be? You might have been fooled.”

His friend didn’t explain much, but said, “I’m leaving the cafeteria now and heading to your school. Wait for me in the dorm, I’ll be there in twenty minutes.”

Qian Duoduo agreed, mentally calculating the delivery time. “Because there are many people during mealtimes, and we can’t ride electric bikes, it takes at least thirty minutes for food delivery at our university. You’ll definitely make it in time.”

After Qian Duoduo finished speaking, he hung up the phone.

Just then, there was a knock on his dormitory door.

Qian Duoduo thought it was his roommate returning, but when he opened the door, he found a stranger standing outside.

This person had a slim waist, long legs, and had a very handsome vibe, but he was wearing a mask, so he couldn’t see his face at all.

He was carrying a beautifully packaged bag, looking at the printed receipt in his hand, and asked, “You must be Mr. ‘Forever Rich’?”

Qian Duoduo scratched his head in confusion. “Yes, that’s me.”

Qian Duoduo looked at the beautifully packaged bag in his hand, feeling utterly confused. He didn’t have a girlfriend, much less a boyfriend, only a group of close friends. Could it be that these friends had given him a gift?

Bird Thirty handed him the bag. “At your school, girls could only have their meals delivered downstairs, but with boys, I can deliver to their dorm room, so I brought it up to you directly. This is the takeout you ordered from the Eighth Cafeteria of Aero U.”

Qian Duoduo: “???”

Qian Duoduo has never considered food delivery as an option, and was completely confused after hearing what Thirty Bird said.

It has only been about ten minutes since he placed the order—that was incredibly fast!

While still shocked, Qian Duoduo couldn’t help but ask, “Brother, did you fly here?”
