[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 57.1 — Couple’s Watches

For the first time, Jian Hang couldn’t breathe while they were kissing; she felt like she was suffocating.

She pushed Qin Moling away forcefully and pinched his chin. Qin Moling realized she was uncomfortable and immediately pulled away from her lips to let her breathe.

Qin Moling carried her to his desk and had her sit on it.

He had never lost control like this before, not even during their first time at the hotel in Oia.

Jian Hang ran her fingers over the pinch mark on his chin, a not-so-deep thumbnail imprint.

Jian Hang checked her watch; there were still nine minutes until eleven o’clock.

She looked up and met his deep, burning eyes.

“On my way to your office, I mentally prepared myself. If you’re angry at me because of the Second Division, I understand.”

Because Mr. Zhao from Suzhou was the largest distributor for the Second Division and also the second largest general distributor of Lemeng, offending him was quite risky.

But only by closing Mr. Zhao’s account could she achieve the deterrent effect she wanted and get immediate results. Closing the distributors’ accounts was never her real goal.

No matter how difficult this step was, it must be taken.

“If I didn’t want you to close the account, I would have stopped you then and there.” Qin Moling lifted her off the desk. “I don’t interfere with the specific operations. That’s the business of you Division General Managers and Vice President Wu. If I have to manage everything, what’s the point of having senior executives? I only care about the results.”

Even if the outcome was bad, even if the consequences were serious, as long as he could cover the losses, he would not interfere and would respect their actions.

Otherwise, with the Division General Managers being so constrained in their work, Lemeng would not have achieved the significant development it had recently.

“I’m different from my Third Uncle. He interfered too much, which caused Lemeng to decline.”

After a pause, Qin Moling added, “If I ever mention you in a meeting, that means you’ve crossed my bottom line.”

He pulled her into his arms again and let her stay in his embrace for two minutes.

Jian Hang hugged his waist, “Has President Qin ever made an exception for anyone?”

Qin Moling lowered his eyes, looking at the top of her head. “What do you think? In the past, my meetings only had a ten-minute break at most. Office romances were something I looked down on the most. Now, the General Manager of the Fourth Division is in my arms.”

Jian Hang tightened her arms around his waist. She liked being favored by him and enjoyed being the only one he favored.

“President Qin.”

Qin Moling didn’t hear anything more, so he prodded, “What is it? Tell me.”

Jian Hang said, “If you continue to make exceptions for me, I will accept it without any guilt.”

Qin Moling: “…”

Jian Hang laughed and let go of him. “Let’s go, let’s not be late for the meeting.”

Before leaving, the two went to the restroom to tidy up.

Qin Moling’s shirt, which Jian Hang had crumpled around his waist, was smoothened out and tucked neatly back into his trousers. He couldn’t control what would’ve happened next if Jian Hang hadn’t been on her period.

Jian Hang’s lipstick had been smudged away, so she gently wiped her lips with a tissue. She thought that probably no one in the meeting room would pay any attention to notice whether her lipstick was dark or light.

Qin Moling opened the office door and let Jian Hang go out first, then closed the door behind him.

… …

By the elevator, Xiao Fan stood holding Jian Hang’s briefcase, looking extremely anxious.

Ten minutes ago, she received a call from Secretary Gao who asked her to take Jian Hang’s makeup bag to Qin Moling’s office.

Secretary Gao specifically instructed, “Don’t let anyone know it’s a makeup bag.”

Xiao Fan nodded, “Don’t worry.”

She wasn’t clear on the details of what happened in the meeting, but she knew for sure that the company wouldn’t agree to Jian Hang’s plan to close the accounts. Given Jian Hang’s temperament, she certainly wouldn’t back down, and a confrontation with upper management wasn’t out of the question.

She was particularly worried about something, “Did Ms. Jian get scolded by the higher-ups and cry?”

Secretary Gao explained, “She didn’t get scolded. Who would dare scold her? Ms. Jian isn’t that fragile, but President Qin is more than just a boss to her. If she gets emotional and sheds tears, you go and wait for her, just in case.”

Qin Moling was very reserved when it came to relationships; he would even hesitate for a long time before giving a watch as a gift. He paused the meeting and took Jian Hang to his office, something Secretary Gao could never have imagined would only involve a kiss and a hug.

“President Jian,” Xiao Fan finally saw the person she had been waiting for.

These past ten minutes had been full of anxiety and felt much longer and more unbearable than ten hours. Seeing no trace of tears on Jian Hang’s face, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Jian Hang asked in surprise, “What are you doing here?”

Xiao Fan handed her the file bag. “Ms. Jian, you didn’t bring your water bottle or these documents, so I packed them all in this bag.”

Jian Hang smiled and said, “Thank you for your hard work.”

Xiao Fan took another elevator downstairs, while Jian Hang and Qin Moling took a private elevator to the conference room on the 22nd floor.

Once inside the elevator, Jian Hang opened her file bag, which contained a tumbler of warm water, a stack of documents, and a makeup kit.

Qin Moling didn’t ask any questions. He reached out and carried her file bag for her. Jian Hang took out lipstick and a makeup mirror from her makeup kit to touch up her makeup.

The elevator slowly came to a stop on the 22nd floor, and Jian Hang put her makeup kit back into her file bag.

At 10:58, Secretary Gao was waiting for them at the meeting room door.

Upon seeing the two of them, she pushed open the conference room door.

The previously noisy conference room, ringing with complaints and grievances, suddenly fell silent.

Qin Moling and Jian Hang entered one after the other. All eyes turned to Jian Hang, who calmly sat down and took out a stack of documents from her briefcase.

She even had someone deliver some documents while she was away; who knew what other strange things would happen next.

This was everyone’s first reaction.

Her madness was simply outrageous.

… …

Zhong Yanyue was replying to messages about how Mr. Zhao from Suzhou had his account shut down, and now more than 400 distributors were putting pressure on her side.

Lou Zheng just reported to her: [Zheng Yanshu just contacted Mr. Luo in Jiangcheng to discuss closing their account.]

Zhong Yanyue gripped her phone tightly, her fingertips turning white.

Mr. Zhao was the largest distributor for the Second Division, and Mr. Luo from Jiangcheng was the second largest distributor. They were the two most powerful accounts in the East China region.

Jian Hang had just closed the account of her largest distributor, and now she was going to target her second largest distributor.

Lou Zheng was usually the one who maintained relationships with these distributors, and she herself was not personally familiar with them. However, Lou Zheng was only a Sales Director, and in the face of this emergency, he could not make the decision himself and could only wait for her to make arrangements.

To quell their anger, Zhong Yanyue could only offer benefits as a gesture of goodwill. [Wait a few days and see their attitude. If they also have objections to our Second Division, we’ll provide an additional two million in funding support to Mr. Zhao and one and a half million to Mr. Luo for the third quarter.]

As long as they don’t take the lead in stirring up trouble in the group, the others would keep quiet.

Lou Zheng: [I understand.]

He added, [But what Mr. Luo meant was that he doesn’t want to close their account at all, but he can’t bring himself to apologize to the Fourth Division. He wants us to coordinate with the Fourth Division on his behalf.”

Zhong Yanyue: [Just pretend you didn’t understand what Mr. Luo meant.]

It was impossible for her to plead with Jian Hang on behalf of the distributors.

T/N: What’s this? An update?? 👀

I’m not sure what the Second Division meant by providing additional funding to the distributors—perhaps some sort of incentive or additional promotion to help them with sales or more favorable purchase rates?
