[7YrSecretLove] Chapter 45.3 — Missing Him

Time passed quickly, and two hours seemed like two minutes.

Jiang Shenghe’s cell phone rang, and Luo Qi helped reach for it, bringing it to him. The screen clearly displayed: Natural Enemy.

Luo Qi looked at him, the question clear in her eyes, and Jiang Shenghe explained, “It’s my dad calling.”

“…” Luo Qi was not even surprised.

She had long known that he and his father were at odds with each other. “You go and answer.” She made an excuse to leave, “I’m going to the bathroom.”

“No need.” Jiang Shenghe grabbed her waist and refused to let her move away.

He slid the answer button and said, “Hello, Dad.”

“Why did your mother go to Suzhou City? She also said that she wanted to renovate the villa there. Do you know what’s going on?”

He and his wife had a few arguments before, but it didn’t count as a quarrel. Did she want to separate from him?

Jiang Shenghe replied, “Mom didn’t like the previous decoration style.”

Getting this answer was like he didn’t ask anything.

Father Jiang tried again, “When will your mother come back?”

“I don’t know, she didn’t say.”

From beginning to end, he didn’t know anything.1

The relationship between Father Jiang and his youngest son has eased somewhat in recent days, but he has nothing to say now, so he just said, “Okay, you can go do your business.”

Jiang Shenghe added another word of concern before hanging up the phone, “The temperature has dropped in the past few days. Dad, please wear more layers.”

Father Jiang was a little overwhelmed by the sudden concern, “Yeah.” The words ‘you too’ couldn’t make it past his lips.

The call mercifully ended.

… …

Luo Qi and Jiang Shenghe were going to a restaurant for dinner, and the two of them went back to their rooms to change clothes.

Jiang Shenghe originally wanted to wear casual clothes, but Luo Qi specifically told him to wear business clothes.

He didn’t know what her so-called good solution was.

Jiang Shenghe changed into a new shirt and a new suit.

When he passed by the door of Luo Qi’s room, she also happened to come out.

Like him, she was wearing a shirt and suit, holding several file folders in one hand and a laptop bag in the other.

Luo Qi smiled slightly and said, “These are all props. I just filled the folders with random things.” She raised her laptop bag: it was empty.

“This way it won’t be awkward even if we encounter some acquaintances,” she finished.

The company cafeteria was closed during the holidays, so it was normal to go to the restaurant to eat after working overtime. Since it was Jiang Shenghe, it was not unusual to have work meals at high-end restaurants.

Jiang Shenghe smiled, “I’ll take the files.”

She was slowly getting into the state of getting along with him, and she was able to calm down and think of ways they could go out on dates. From last night to tonight, this one day of getting along was as good as the previous ten days taken together.

Luo Qi was driving. On the way to the restaurant, she made an agreement with Jiang Shenghe in advance that she would always call him ‘Chief Jiang’ when outside. This was not be counted in the punishment against her.

Jiang Shenghe was sitting in the passenger seat with nothing to do, and he was afraid of disturbing her concentration if he talked to her. He scrolled through his WeChat Moments.

Five minutes ago, He Xu posted a message in his WeChat Moments with only one word: Ha!

It seemed that Luo Yu has made him very angry.

Jiang Shenghe also sent a message to Moments. It was only two sets of numbers:

9.25

10.6

He hasn’t posted on Moments at all in the past year, but suddenly posted something like this. People started making comments under his post.

Qin Moling sent him a private message: [What do you mean? 9.25? Was that the day your first confession got rejected? And you got rejected again today?]

Jiang Shenghe: [If you really have nothing to do, go back and photoshop more of your wedding photos.]

Qin Moling didn’t care about someone who didn’t even have a girlfriend and withdrew the message.

Jiang Shenghe thought for a while and also withdrew his message.

He asked Qin Moling: [Who took your wedding photos?]

Qin Moling replied: [I photoshopped it myself.]

Jiang Shenghe: “…”

Qin Moling didn’t think that Jiang Shenghe was genuinely asking him who his wedding photographer was and only thought that he was deliberately trying to rile him up.

But then, Jiang Shenghe thought that Luo Qi probably has a photographer she liked, so he didn’t ask Qin Moling any more questions.

… …

When they arrived at the restaurant, Luo Qi maintained the demeanor of an assistant and walked a little behind Jiang Shenghe. Fortunately, they were careful and well prepared because they actually met an acquaintance.

Shu Rui had invited some customers to dinner tonight, and on his way to meet up with them, he unexpectedly ran into Jiang Shenghe, the Yuanwei Group’s boss, and Luo Qi, who was about to become Ruipu’s General Manager.

Luo Qi was holding a laptop bag in her hand, and Jiang Shenghe was holding some file folders. It seemed that they were working normally during the holidays.

“Chief Jiang, Manager Luo,” Shu Rui took the initiative to say ‘hello’.

Jiang Shenghe nodded slightly, “Eat with us?”

“No need, I have an appointment with a client.” After exchanging a few more words, Shu Rui headed to the private room he booked.

Jiang Shenghe and Luo Qi booked a seat by the window in the main dining area. Eating was secondary. The main thing was to watch the night view and feel the mood.

They were on a date.
