Gou An rushed to the key location mentioned in the original plot at the fastest speed in her life: Miss Gou’s cabin
Here, a drugged person and a drunk person meet by chance, have a one-night stand, and then get married.
The evening breeze on the deck had a slightly chilly feel, and Gou An shivered. She didn’t see Ye Lang, Lu Wan, or He Jinxing on the deck—
Her mind was buzzing. She put her hand on the doorknob, but when she felt a slight dampness on it, she pulled her hand back as if she had been burned.
“No, no, no…”
The villainous female supporting character’s face turned deathly pale as she clutched her chest. “I can’t do it. What if they’re busy when I push the door open—”
[Jiaojiao: Oh, if that’s the case, then wish them a good time, remind them to take safety precautions, and then politely leave.]
“No way!” Gou An raised her voice, “How can He Jinxing have fun with Lu Wan!”
[Jiaojiao: Then why aren’t you going in yet! Stop dawdling! Make him pull it out as soon as it’s in! Aaaaaaah!]
The voice of a certain stupid and fierce cat in her mind grew even louder, making Gou An shrink back, and two more tufts of hair on her head stood up.
Amidst the system cat’s enthusiastic cheers of “Whether you stick your head out or not, you’ll get stabbed anyway, meow meow!”, she tightly closed her eyes, gritted her teeth, and pushed open the door to her lounge—
When she discovered the door wasn’t locked from the inside, her heart sank.
The lounge was quiet.
The lounge was dark; the only light had been turned off sometime ago, and the only illumination came from the moonlight streaming through the small window…
In the dimly lit room, the scent of Gou An’s usual perfume carried the distinctive aroma of alcohol fermented in the human body.
She breathed a sigh of relief when she didn’t hear any strange noises that first second, but she wasn’t entirely sure.
Gou An couldn’t see anything clearly. She wanted to turn on the light but was afraid the scene would be too stimulating and she would faint on the spot.
Holding her breath, she groped her way forward two steps and her foot kicked something.
She bent down, picked it up, and glanced at it. It was a rather soft, somewhat cheap-looking gauze fabric: a long white dress with gold shoulder straps. Just an hour ago, someone had praised it as the dress of the goddess of Mount Olympus…
Now it was like a rag, held in Gou An’s hand.
It felt like a herd of elephants had trampled through her brain, causing a sudden ringing in her ears. She stared intently at the dress in her hands, her jaw trembling and twitching as he did so.
It’s over.
It’s over.
It’s over.
They’ve taken their clothes off!
Tossing aside the dress in her hand, Gou An reached out her trembling hand and fumbled to turn on the nearest desk lamp. The sudden light made her pupils contract slightly, and once her eyes adjusted, she immediately looked at the sofa in the lounge—
No.
The imagined scene of a man and woman passionately entwined and whispering sweet nothings did not materialize.
Lying alone on the sofa was a person wearing only underwear and safety shorts. She was face down on the sofa, her long black hair cascading down her back, creating a striking contrast with her snow-white skin…
Perhaps because she was drunk, Lu Wan was sleeping soundly with her head resting on her arm, her small face flushed with a pretty blush.
There was no one else.
He Jinxing was not here.
Gou An leaned forward and took a look, then, like a pervert, carefully parted Lu Wan’s long hair to examine her. After not seeing any signs on her body that indicated she had lost her virginity to anyone, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Her legs buckled, and she knelt down on the spot.
She leaned over the edge of the sofa, took a few deep breaths, and then reached over to grab a small blanket that was draped over the sofa as decoration, thoughtfully covering Lu Wan, who was almost completely undressed—
She covered her tightly.
She even reached out and patted her, muttering, “Good job, good job… Go to sleep, don’t wake up.”
[Jiaojiao: …]
[Jiaojiao: The female lead is alright, but your mental state seems a bit unstable, host.]
Amidst the kitten’s sarcastic remarks, Gou An left the lounge. By then, she had managed to calm herself down, found the lounge key, and locked the lounge from the inside to ensure that no one else would be able to enter the lounge that night.
Strive to be the heroine’s guardian angel.
After finishing everything and closing the door, her heart had fully returned to its normal beating rate. Standing on the deck, Gou An took two deep breaths and inhaled the cool sea breeze. Only then did she remember: Where is He Jinxing?
…
Where is he?
How is he?
Did he see a doctor?
Should I find someone else to solve it?
She paused briefly, but only for a moment, when she considered the last possibility.
The ups and downs of the night had left Miss Gou quite tired, and the frantic running in the cold sea breeze of the night had left her arms feeling icy cold to the touch.
Gou An took out her phone and called He Jinxing again, but no one answered. She frowned and could only send He Jinxing a WeChat message, telling him that she hadn’t put the drug in the wine, that person from the Xu family did, and that she hadn’t known about it beforehand.
Then came a wave of frantic apologies.
…and then sincerely prayed that he would see this message before he awoke and tore her to pieces.
After sending a WeChat message while standing in the cold wind, she casually pushed open the door of a nearby lounge. Usually, the room next to a large cabin was for the attendants of the young masters and ladies. The lounge was smaller, but it was still regarded as a private room, and others would not enter it.
Having just experienced a life-or-death race, Gou An felt dizzy and lightheaded, as if her blood had almost stopped flowing. The sea was still cold at night, so she decided to go into the lounge to pick up a bodyguard’s jacket to wear before starting a thorough search for He Jinxing.
Putting everything else aside, the attitude of admitting mistakes must be genuine.
Even if she didn’t find He Jinxing until dawn, and only watched him stagger out of bed in the morning, she still wanted him to see her attitude—with dark circles under her eyes, having searched for him all night.
Gou An was prepared to knock on every cabin door tonight.
At this time, the lights in the small lounge were also off.
After groping around for a while, not knowing where the light in the small lounge was, Gou An walked towards what seemed to be the direction of the wardrobe, completely bewildered.
Just then, she heard a faint, short breath inside this small private room which should have been empty except for her.
Goosebumps instantly covered her skin, and her step froze in mid-air. When a person was gripped by extreme fear, they could not even utter a sound—
She forced her stiff neck to turn and glance to the side, only then noticing that someone was sitting on the sofa in the corner by the window.
The man sank into the single leather sofa, his hands calmly clasped together on his lower abdomen, his white shirt collar wide open, and his long legs casually stretched out…
His hair was wet and slightly messy.
The half-crouching Gou An was caught off guard and met those eyes, which were dark and deep, as if they were bottomless.
Until He Jinxing smiled at her.
“An’an, I didn’t push open the door to that cabin.”
But you delivered yourself to my door.

A note from the Author:
For the male protagonist, in the original storyline, ‘opening the door’ was something he could do even with only a 10% favorability—he’d find Gou An to solve the problem she caused.
In this version, not opening the door = letting her off the hook (kindness and compassion).
—Warning!—
The male lead has decided: I’m going to be with her forever.
If you can’t accept that the male and female leads (T/N: Gou An, not Lu Wan) are entangled before they’ve even established a relationship—of course, it’s really just touching, not actual sex—then don’t read the next two chapters, just skip them.
Everything is geared towards old-fashioned melodrama.
If you don’t mind, cough, come early.
============
T/N: There is a warning about being entangled because Chinese readers/commenters have VERY firm, VERY vocal views about what they consider acceptable for story leads to do. Both leads must remain pure before meeting each other (never mind how improbable it is for a 28 year old, wealthy, handsome, able-bodied man to be a virgin) and they must first confirm their relationship before progressing to anything steamy.
Remember that this is a parody story, so the author is deliberately upending all the usual romance tropes. Many of their Author’s Notes are arguing with the comments haha.
