[MythicalBeastCafeteria] Chapter 51.1 — Taotie

Tao Tie was very interested in delicious food and was full of curiosity about the Eighth Cafeteria they mentioned. He was slow to think, and it took several instructions from netizens before he finally learned how to use the delivery app.

He slowly browsed the menu on the delivery app and added all the available dishes to his shopping cart. Just as he was about to place his order, a message suddenly appeared on the page: ‘The items you purchased are sold out.’

When Tao Tie checked out, he found that all the goods were sold out.

[What a pity, the streamer was too slow to place the order.]

[The Eighth Cafeteria is currently trending on social media, attracting many customers. Even if only one in a thousand people places an order, all the dishes will be sold out.]

[Stop trying to sell me these things! Who says everything trending on social media is delicious? Most of the trending items are just internet-famous restaurants trying to rip me off. Tao Tie has had several bad experiences with them. And your flood of positive reviews makes me feel like you’re using paid trolls to deliberately promote these things on a popular streamer’s channel.]

[To be honest, I can hardly imagine what good food a university cafeteria, known for its cost-effectiveness, could possibly have. I think the celebrity trending on social media is probably being promoted because of the university’s prestigious reputation.]

[Long-time fans know that Tao Tie has very high standards for food quality; he won’t keep dishes that aren’t fresh or tasty. I think Tao Tie would never consider the mass-produced food from the school cafeteria.]

[Plus one]

[Plus ID number]

Some netizens who had eaten at the Eighth Cafeteria were unhappy when they saw someone questioning whether they were paid trolls, so they sent comments to try to clear their names. However, they were too few in number and seemed insignificant among Tao Tie’s fans.

At this moment, Tao Tie’s eyes were fixed on the display pictures of each dish.

The braised pork belly was glossy and oily, the goldfish-tail wontons were beautiful and translucent… the boiled meat slices were colorful and the aroma seemed to waft out of the screen. Just looking at these boiled meat slices made him think they tasted better than what he was eating.

Appetite invaded his brain, filling his mind and eyes with nothing but these beautiful dishes. His stomach, which had just begun to feel full, growled again, clamoring with hunger and craving.

Tao Tie patted his empty stomach, feeling a deep hunger. He turned to the camera and asked, “Is there anywhere else I can buy dishes like this?”

The number of comments increased instantly.

[No way, Tao Tie, how could you be so naive? You actually fell for the online trolls’ tricks again.]

[This silly child is hopeless.]

Tao Tie ignored the comments and patiently watched the screen. Soon, a customer from the Eighth Cafeteria told him the address.

Many fans didn’t want Tao Tie to go, but they could only watch as he quickly finished the boiled meat slices he bought, paid for them, and rushed off to Aero U.

Tao Tie felt that the livestreaming equipment hanging around his neck was interfering too much with his running, and it was hitting his chest so hard that he turned off the livestream and put the phone in his pocket.

The fans in the livestream: “…”

… …

Chancellor Wen’s home was not far from Aero U, and he rode his bicycle to work every day to get some exercise.

The morning air was fresh, and the birds were singing and the flowers were fragrant. Chancellor Wen rode his bicycle while breathing in the fresh air and felt that the world was wonderful.

Just then, a speeding car on the side of the road suddenly made a sharp turn, startling Chancellor Wen.

Chancellor Wen had no choice but to turn the handlebars to the side, which resulted in the handlebars crashing into a row of shared bicycles. The shared bicycles fell down one after another like dominoes.

Seeing this, the driver leaned out of the driver’s seat, feeling very apologetic. “Sir, I’m so sorry, I have something urgent to attend to. Are you alright?”

Chancellor Wen’s leg was hit by a shared bicycle. Despite the pain, he shook his head and said, “It’s nothing, you can go back to what you were doing.”

The driver thanked him profusely and left. Chancellor Wen sighed and could only park his car on the side of the road, bend down, and pick up the fallen shared bicycles.

But there were too many shared bikes in this row. Chancellor Wen kept bending over, and soon  he felt a slight pain in his lumbar spine.

Looking at the many shared bicycles that hadn’t been picked up yet, Chancellor Wen couldn’t help but think, “If only someone could help, whoever it may be.”

Just then, someone suddenly stopped next to him.

Tao Tie turned around, bent down, and straightened up the shared bicycles beside him. He was strong, and soon he had straightened many shared bicycles.

Chancellor Wen was very grateful and found the handsome young man particularly pleasing to the eye, so he looked at him with a smile and said, “Young man, you are so kind, thank you.”

Upon hearing the word ‘kind’, Tao Tie paused slightly, a hint of confusion in his eyes. He didn’t actually want to help Chancellor Wen out of kindness, but rather…

Tao Tie continued to straighten up the shared bikes, saying, “I used to work deploying shared bikes, so I’m used to it. You don’t need to thank me.”

Chancellor Wen was somewhat surprised upon hearing this, but after realizing what was happening, his gaze softened even more as he looked at Tao Tie. This young man did good deeds and didn’t even ask for praise; he’s truly a kind-hearted young man.

Together, they straightened all the shared bikes. Tao Tie noticed that one of the bikes was crooked, and he even went over to straighten it.

Chancellor Wen, pushing his bicycle, greeted him with a smile, “Where are you going, young man?”

Tao Tie honestly replied, “I’m going to eat at the Eighth Cafeteria of Aero U.”

Chancellor Wen’s eyes lit up when he heard this, as the two of them had the same destination. “What a coincidence! I’m also going to Aero University. Why don’t we go together?”

Tao Tie was only focused on eating; his mind had already drifted to the Eighth Cafeteria. He was indifferent to everything else and simply nodded, “Okay.”
