[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 63.3 — Difficulties

She didn’t have time to wallow in self-pity; she went to the closet in her bedroom to look for something.

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang.

Jian Hang packed up her things and went to open the door.

She thought Qin Moling had returned, but Jian Hang saw a young woman from the apartment building’s front desk through the video doorbell. The young woman had come over to give her her car keys.

Qin Moling’s driver had parked her car without going up to bother them. Qin Moling knew she was wearing pajamas, so he simply asked the receptionist to deliver them to her.

“Thank you, I appreciate your help.”

The young woman smiled faintly, “You’re welcome.”

Jian Hang left the car keys in the entryway and went back to her bedroom.

Finding the property certificate, she called Feng Mai, “What time are you free tomorrow morning?”

Feng Mai: “Your loan has been approved. Don’t worry, it will arrive soon. It won’t delay the development of new products.”

“That’s not it.”

“What difficulties have you encountered this time?”

“Let’s talk when we meet.”

“Then, same time. Come to my office at eight o’clock.”

The next morning, Jian Hang arrived at Feng Mai’s office ten minutes early.

Feng Mai never imagined that Jian Hang would ask her for a loan, mortgaging her own property.

She looked through the property deeds; there were two in total. “’You’re mortgaging the storefront that your grandparents are running?”

“Yes. I only own one apartment and one storefront.” She paid for both properties herself, so she has the confidence to use them as collateral.

Feng Mai put down the property certificates. “Didn’t Qin Moling give you a card?”

“I have all his cards,” Jian Hang said. “I don’t need his money for this.”

Feng Mai understood. She had known Jian Hang for so many years and knew that she was proud and valued her self-esteem above all else.

If she used Qin Moling’s money, she would be positioning herself as inferior to Qin Moling.

In front of Qin Moling, all she had left was that worthless pride and self-respect.

Feng Mai turned on her computer. After the collateral was appraised, a reduction on valuation would still need to be applied. She roughly estimated, “The two properties combined can only get a maximum loan of 20 million. 20 million, is that enough for the Sales Department for a month?”

“Not enough,” Jian Hang said. “If I withdraw all my investments, I can still raise another 20 million.” That plus the 20 million she could get from the loan—40 million would be all of her assets.

“Let’s deal with the expenses for July and August first. I’ll figure out a solution later.”

Feng Mai got up to make coffee. “I don’t know if later you’ll regret choosing Lemeng.”

Jian Hang remained silent on the matter.

Feng Mai stood in front of the tea cabinet, then suddenly turned around. “I’ll personally lend you another 20 million to help you get through this difficult time. As for the interest, you can pay me the same rate as a large bank deposit. I’m not helping for nothing. If you don’t succeed in the market, come to Yishuo.”

After all, they’ve been classmates for so many years, since they were teenagers. Now that Jian Hang was in trouble, it wouldn’t be right not to help.

She wasn’t worried that Jian Hang wouldn’t be able to repay the money. If the Fourth Division succeeded, Jian Hang would naturally have no shortage of money. If the Fourth Division failed, Jian Hang could come to Yishuo and slowly save up money to repay her.

Twenty million was the amount Jian Hang dared to borrow. Even if this soda venture failed, she could simply start over and pay it back sooner or later.

Jian Hang reached out, “Give me paper and pen, I’ll write you an IOU.”

Feng Mai put down her coffee cup, picked up a pen and paper, and said, “If you’re so stubborn about saving face that you’re willing to suffer for it, then I might as well mock you for it.”

She stood beside Jian Hang as she wrote the IOU; her handwriting was as beautiful and stylish as her personality.

After the IOU was written, Jian Hang gestured to her, “Mark it with ink.”

“There’s no need.”

“Let things be as they should.”

Feng Mai handed over the inkpad on the table, and Jian Hang pressed her fingerprint on the IOU.

Feng Mai accepted the IOU. She checked the balance of her usual account and found that she had enough cash. Her parents still gave her pocket money, and this card was never short of money. She immediately transferred the money to Jian Hang.

She took out a wet wipe and Jian Hang wiped her finger. “Personal money shouldn’t be put into Lemeng’s account. You have a lot of things to do right now, but I’m very free. I’ll help you find a small investment company to transfer 20 million to Lemeng’s account today under the guise of investment. Then I’ll transfer your 40 million together later.”

Jian Hang was grateful. “Okay, I’ll cover the handling fees.” She put the property certificate into her bag, “Send me a list of what documents are needed for the loan, and I’ll prepare them when I get back.”

Feng Mai escorted her to the elevator. “I know several business tycoons who struggled to pay their employees’ salaries when they started their businesses. They even mortgaged their houses to the bank. Now they’re worth hundreds of billions. I hope to drink that beverage soon.”

“Thank you.” Jian Hang entered the elevator.

Feng Mai was efficient; before Jian Hang even arrived at Le Meng, she received a call from the head of an investment company.

Coincidentally, Jian Hang was familiar with this investment company. They had previously co-invested in a company where Yinlin led the investment and this company followed suit.

The person in charge laughed and said, “I didn’t expect it to be you. I’ve known Feng Mai for over ten years, and I’ve never seen her so concerned about anyone’s affairs. She urged me to get it done for you today. Come to my office now.”

Since the funds were deposited into Lemeng’s account under the guise of investment, all the necessary procedures must be followed.

It took more than two hours to complete the formalities and sign the agreement.

To the outside world, she would claim that the money was raised from an investment company.

When she got to Lemeng, it was almost 11:30.

Lemeng’s Finance Department called her and said that 20 million had been deposited into their account.

Xiao Fan had been anxious all morning and finally Jian Hang arrived. She didn’t dare ask where Jian Hang had been that morning. “President Jian, the Sales Department and the Marketing Department want to see you in the conference room. They are waiting for you there.”

Jian Hang nodded, “I’ll be right there.”

It was unclear whether it was to be a collective condemnation of her or a decision to mass resign from the Fourth Division for the Second Department. The Second Division was currently hiring; she would release them immediately if they wanted to go.

As soon as she pushed open the conference room door, seven or eight pairs of eyes swept over me.

Zheng Yanshu didn’t look up; he was looking at his phone. Although he had argued with Jian Hang yesterday, he still had no intention of leaving the Fourth Division, and he would definitely be the last person to leave it.

Jian Hang sat down. “What is it?”

Zhou Yi stood up, walked to her side, and placed a card in front of her. “There’s a total of ten million in this card, we raised it together. Use it without worry; it’s all money taken out without affecting our quality of life.”

The others raised a total of over six million, and he made up the difference, bringing the total to ten million.

“Let’s address the immediate crisis first, then we can work together to find a solution.”

Jian Hang was moved twice today.

She pushed the card over and said, “Thank you. I don’t need your money. I raised 60 million this morning, 20 million has already arrived, and the remaining 40 million will arrive by the end of the month. You can proceed with your work as planned, you don’t need to worry about the money.”

T/N: In case it wasn’t clear, the 20M came from Feng Mai’s personal money, but she went around and contacted an investment firm to handle it professionally so that, on paper, it would appear as if the money came from them. Jian Hang offered to pay the handling fee.

In the previous chapter, Qin Moling had the same idea—for Jian Hang to use the money from his cards but use an investment firm to handle the ‘investment’.
