[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 73.1 — Day 26: I Have a Clean Work Style

Cheng Liu got off the car carrying the takeout box, and she walked steadily all the way.

Sitting in the car, Yun Se looked at Cheng Liu’s back through the car window, but she was not so peaceful.

From beginning to end, she never gained the upper hand and was led by Cheng Liu the whole time. As expected of the founder of Shenyin Technology.

Yun Se withdrew her gaze. She couldn’t confront Cheng Liu either, and could only hope that Cheng Liu would continue to care about Chaozhou as she did today.

Cheng Liu skillfully opened the door next door, walked into the living room, and said to Ji Chaozhou, “The food at this restaurant is pretty good.”

She placed the takeout box on the dining table, opened it, and found that the dishes were light and not greasy, just the kind of flavor Ji Chaozhou liked.

Ji Chaozhou had received a message from Cheng Liu earlier asking if he had eaten dinner. He usually didn’t eat much when he was alone.

Before he could reply, Cheng Liu sent another message saying she had eaten some delicious food and would bring it to him that evening.

Ji Chaozhou agreed.

He walked to the dining table, stood next to Cheng Liu, and glanced at the takeout boxes on the table. Suddenly, he asked, “Did you go with Aunt Yun?”

Cheng Liu followed his gaze to the label on the takeout box. “Do you guys go to this restaurant often?”

Ji Chaozhou turned his gaze to Cheng Liu, then whispered, “You smell like Aunt Yun’s perfume. This kind of fragrance isn’t sold on the market.”

This was personally prepared by Yun Ran for Yun Se, a unique gift for her. Every year, Ranshan would prepare a batch and send it to Yun Se.

Cheng Liu pulled Ji Chaozhou to sit down. “You eat first.”

“What did Aunt Yun want to talk to you about?” Ji Chaozhou asked Cheng Liu after sitting down.

Cheng Liu pulled out the chair opposite him, looking completely at ease. “She didn’t say anything in particular, just asked about your life lately.”

She didn’t reveal that she had subtly blocked Yun Se’s words; after all, she was an elder.

“Next time…” Ji Chaozhou hesitated for a moment before saying, “If Aunt Yun wants to see you, just tell me.”

Cheng Liu casually agreed, “Okay.” That was, if she was still willing to have dinner with her.

Cheng Liu had already eaten her fill at the restaurant, so now she was just watching Ji Chaozhou eat his dinner.

She had discovered long ago that Ji Chaozhou not only refused to eat dinner, but he was also a very picky eater.

He might not like a dish if it was prepared a bit differently, even if he didn’t show it outwardly— he just wouldn’t eat it again next time.

He and Cheng Liu could be considered two extremes.

Young President Cheng could even just mix ginger with rice and be happy.

She didn’t care what she ate, as long as it wasn’t poisonous.

Ji Chaozhou, on the other hand, looked like he had grown up drinking celestial nectar and didn’t like to touch anything.

However, things have been much better recently than before. Although it was slow going, he actually managed to eat it.

“Do you want to go out and have fun during the May Day holiday?” Cheng Liu asked, resting her chin on her hand and looking at Ji Chaozhou across from her. She was still hoping to take their relationship to the next level.

Going out for fun was a good option.

She learned this from that employee on the seventeenth floor, and he was already preparing for his honeymoon trip.

Young President Cheng would never admit that she was so envious beyond recognition.

Ji Chaozhou lowered his eyes and looked at the remaining dishes on the plate. After a long while, he said, “…I don’t know if there’s time.”

There was hope as long as there was no rejection.

Cheng Liu said nonchalantly, “Let’s talk about it in a few days. I can adjust my schedule.”

She needed to arrange a meeting with President Ji tomorrow to discuss whether there was any chance for cooperation.

After Ji Chaozhou had almost finished eating, Cheng Liu said she had to go back.

“I’ll come over again after I shower. You need to put on hand cream for me tonight,” Cheng Liu said matter-of-factly.

She never used to put any effort into these things, but starting this morning, she’s developed a great interest in applying hand cream.

This was the only chance she could experience having her sweetheart touch her hand!

If she was lucky, she might even get to kiss him.

Young President Cheng had been looking forward to this since the afternoon.

Ji Chaozhou looked at the blatant expression on Cheng Liu’s face and fell silent: “…”

“I’m leaving.” Cheng Liu hurried back.

After her shower, she returned to the sofa in Ji Chaozhou’s living room, smelling of familiar bitter coffee, and obediently stretched out her hands, waiting for him to apply the cream.

Ji Chaozhou raised his eyes and gave her a cold glance. Then he put his fingertips into the porcelain jar and stirred it slowly. White cream overflowed from between his fingers, and more cream from inside the jar squeezed in.

Cheng Liu stared at his hand unconsciously, her ear tips turning red.

She stared blankly at Ji Chaozhou as he finished applying hand cream, and then, steeling herself, decided to repeat what she had done that morning.

However, Ji Chaozhou was already on guard against her. He raised his hand and gently covered the lower half of Cheng Liu’s face. He leaned forward slightly, almost touching the back of his hand, then lowered his eyes. When he lifted his eyelids again, his beautiful, clear amber eyes looked at Cheng Liu with a faint smile.

He stood a hand’s width away and said softly, word by word, “No, not allowed.”

As Cheng Liu smelled the faint scent of grapefruit lingering on his palm, a bit of reason finally cleared from her dazed mind.

Ji Chaozhou did it on purpose!

Young President Cheng was always willing to be seduced, but she was really unwilling to give up when she couldn’t get close to the person.

On a sudden impulse, she kissed his palm, and when she saw Ji Chaozhou’s dazed expression, she smiled triumphantly.

Who said a hand couldn’t be kissed?

Young President Cheng never suffered a loss.

Ji Chaozhou recoiled as if burned, quickly withdrawing his hand and calling her name with a hint of warning, “Cheng Liu”.

“See you tomorrow!” Cheng Liu said and ran off after giving him the kiss.

Ji Chaozhou was left sitting alone in the living room, stunned. He turned around and covered the porcelain jar on the coffee table. After a while, he looked at his palm and gently stroked a certain spot with his other hand.

Her lips touched this place.

Ji Chaozhou lowered his head, and finally, gently pressed his lips to the spot on his palm that had just been touched by her lips.

The living room was quiet, except for the handsome young man sitting on the sofa with his eyes lowered, his long eyelashes trembling, his ear tips slightly red, gently kissing his palm, still faintly feeling the warmth left by another person.
