[MythicalBeastCafeteria] Chapter 37.1 — Staying at Aero U for Love

Ever since Luo Huai’an heard about Big Fish’s planned rebellion, she had all the cafeteria staff supervise Big Fish’s work. When Luo Huai’an was around, he had to work diligently. When Luo Huai’an wasn’t around, there were others watching him.

Big Fish couldn’t even slack off anymore.

His once dutiful sons and daughters, influenced by having access to the computer, have become Luo Huai’an’s lackeys, treating her words as gospel. Whenever they discovered their father slacking off, they reported it directly to Luo Huai’an.

Although Big Fish was powerful, he was no match for his eighteen strong children when united, so he could only harbor resentment and keep the matter to himself. He angrily went to his gentle and kind wife to complain, wanting her to teach their unfilial descendants a lesson.

However, the kind-hearted Second Fish only looked at him with pity and even advised him, “The boss is so good to us. She not only gives us a big house to live in, but also gives us so much good food. You should repay her by doing your best at work.”

Second Fish knew that Big Fish didn’t want to be a servant or work for someone else, but what did that have to do with her?

Second Fish felt that as long as she was doing well, that was enough, and she had also found meaning in her life—learning to cook.

Now her skills were getting better and better, and she has become Luo Huai’an’s right-hand woman. Maybe she could even become the second chef in the future.

In truth, Big Fish, like everyone else, knew that living conditions here were better than they had been in the sea. However, he felt that he had once been the head of his clan, a free-spirited supernatural beast, and he was unwilling to be at the bottom, subjected to human enslavement, especially unpaid enslavement!

However, the truth was that not only his children and wife turned their attention to him and began to monitor his work, but that dreadful Qing Niao was also watching him all the time!

After delivering food each day, this blue bird would transform back into his original form, perch on his shoulder, and watch him sweep the floor.

The pressure from his rank and race made Big Fish tremble with fear, lest he be pecked. So he swept the ground spotless and mopped the tiles cleaner than his own face.

Fortunately, it was lunchtime, and Qing Niao had gone out to deliver food, so Big Fish was able to catch his breath and started slacking off.

Just then, a strange person carrying a camera walked over.

Photographer Zhang looked at the cleaner and asked excitedly, “Sir, are you a cleaner here?”

Big Fish: “…That’s right.”

Photographer Zhang was very curious about the Eighth Cafeteria, so he asked, “The food in the Eighth Cafeteria is so delicious, the employees must have an even higher standard of living, and there are so many handsome men and beautiful women working here. You must be very happy working here.”

Big Fish was already furious at Qing Niao’s supervision of him, his anger simmering. He wanted to expose the ruthless boss’s exploitative nature regardless of the consequences, so he put the broom aside, ready to reveal all of Luo Huai’an’s misconduct of not paying wages and exploiting employees, so that she would suffer social death.

“I’m not happy at all.” Big Fish snorted coldly, “Do you like working?”

Previously, Photographer Zhang was considered a well-known figure in the industry, spending all his time on set shooting. Over time, his irregular schedule led to a decline in his health, and he began to feel like a laborer in the film industry.

The more Zhang thought about it, the better he felt about his current job. Although the salary wasn’t as high as before, it was a secure job with a very easy workload.

However, Photographer Zhang couldn’t say this directly, so he vaguely replied, “It depends on personal preference.”

“I don’t like working for others,” Big Fish said angrily. “Do you know how much my boss pays me?”

Photographer Zhang was a little confused and didn’t know how to answer, so he could only go along with it and ask, “How much is the salary?”

Just as Big Fish was about to complain to the camera, Luo Huai’an came over after selling the last batch of dragon beard candy and asked, “What were you talking about just now?”

Upon seeing the familiar figure, Big Fish’s arrogant demeanor instantly cooled down, and he froze on the spot, unable to utter a single word.

Photographer Zhang, found the atmosphere between the two of them a bit strange. After scratching his head, he asked, “Boss, your employee just said he’s unhappy and brought up the issue of salary.”

Photographer Zhang sensed something was amiss and tentatively asked, “We wanted to shoot a positive promotional video, but judging from the current situation, the employees seem quite dissatisfied with you, which isn’t good.”

Upon hearing this, Luo Huai’an became anxious. How dare Big Fish interfere with the filming of the promotional video!

Luo Huai’an then put her hand on Big Fish’s shoulder and gave him a death stare. “Big Fish, are you really unhappy?”

Big Fish hugged his broom tightly, vaguely feeling the pain from the wounds he had suffered before. He recalled the fear of being dominated by Luo Huai’an, and his initial courage vanished instantly.

He swallowed hard and stammered, “I… I’m happy.”

Photographer Zhang asked in confusion, “You clearly said that you were unhappy at work, and you also mentioned the issue of salary.”

Feeling the terrifying pressure from the person next to him, Big Fish straightened his neck and said in a serious and sincere tone, “What I mean is that the boss pays us too much, which makes me feel guilty. I feel that I am really letting the boss down by taking so much money, so I feel unhappy.”

Photographer Zhang was extremely surprised upon hearing this, feeling as if the positive energy emanating from Big Fish had shone upon him. He couldn’t believe there were employees in this world who cared so much for their boss; it made him, a typical office worker, feel a little ashamed.

This employee named Big Fish was truly amazing!

Big Fish realized that even after making such a statement, Luo Huai’an still hadn’t removed her hand from his shoulder, and his legs trembled slightly. So he added, “What I said is true. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the other employees.”

Photographer Zhang then went to the kitchen to ask if the wenyao, who were cooking over a fire, were happy with their work.

Second Fish gripped her spatula and said sincerely, “The boss teaches me cooking skills, and I feel that every day I live here is meaningful.”

The other little Fish chattered happily, “The boss lets us play on the computer every day, and I feel really happy.”

Photographer Zhang was extremely satisfied upon hearing this. He had entered the kitchen unexpectedly, and these people must have been unprepared. They were speaking from the heart, and it seemed he had been overthinking things.

How could the owner of such a beautiful cafeteria mistreat her employees?

These employees were all good-looking enough to work in the entertainment industry, so of course they wouldn’t want to stay if the boss’s treatment wasn’t good.

Seeing that Luo Huai’an was still beside him, Big Fish shuddered and said, “There’s a deliveryman who will come back later. You can ask him too.”

Just then, Qing Niao returned after delivering food orders.

When Qing Niao heard the Photographer Zhang’s question, his eyes lit up. “The boss pays me a high salary and has also enabled me to realize my life’s ideals. She is not only my boss but also my mentor. I am very happy working here.”

The photographer, with a videographer working on his shoulder, faithfully recorded this ‘heartwarming’ interview.

Photographer Zhang nodded with satisfaction, “I understand, it’s all been recorded on the camera.”
