[ILivestreamDivination] Chapter 83.4 — What Happened to the Gu Woman

No wonder that when they were chatting in the hall earlier, Old Master Wang was very disdainful of the other gu witches, as if he looked down on them, while paying close attention to Wei Mingyan.

Wei Mingyan was the son of a faithless man, a thorn on her side; no wonder she reacted so strongly.

He would rather risk exposure and offend the other party.

She asked curiously, “Did his great-grandfather know that he had a gu worm in his body?”

The gu witch sneered, “If he knew, how dare he leave?”

Wei Mingyan’s head was throbbing with pain, and he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. It turned out that not only his great-grandfather had offended the gu witch, but his father had too.

The former brought a curse upon his family, and the latter lost his own life.

Their entire family was inescapably cursed by the gu witch, generation after generation. There was an strange sense of destiny at play.

His lips were completely bloodless, and his sickly body was even weaker, swaying precariously and in a daze.

If Lin Chuji hadn’t helped him to a chair, he might have fallen to the ground.

Seeing him so devastated, the gu witch felt extremely satisfied.

She used Old Master Wang as a pawn early not only to complete Qian Weilai’s unfinished task and cast a gu spell on An Rugu, but also to take the opportunity to see how that person’s son was doing.

He looked just as handsome as him, so his heart must be just as suitable for raising gu worms.

“You have fifteen years left to live, so just wait and see.”

Wei Mingyan pursed his lips, suddenly opened his eyes, and said in a slightly angry voice, word by word, “The Wei family will not let you go.”

“If the chief hadn’t forbidden me from taking action on my own, do you think your family would be living such a comfortable life? Your lives are all in my hands!”

The gu witch was not frightened by him at all. Instead, she opened her mouth and uttered obscure and incomprehensible incantations.

Wei Mingyan suddenly felt as if someone had inserted their hand into his heart and was stirring inside. Waves of excruciating pain swept through his limbs, causing him to curl up like a shrimp.

No matter how much it hurt, he didn’t cry out. Countless beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, but he refused to show weakness.

“Stop chanting!”

A golden flying sword was embedded right by the gu witch’s ear, severing her hair, and was only inches away from her face.

The witch frowned, stopped chanting, and glared at An Rugu. “I know how sad he is about his father’s death. I wonder if you would also be sad to see him die.”

Everyone was puzzled. Who was she talking about?

As soon as she finished speaking, Old Master Wang’s head drooped down. After a long while, he opened his eyes, looked around, and was completely bewildered: “…How did I get here?”

He looked around and was even more puzzled to find himself nailed to the wall.

Before he could figure out what was going on, his heart suddenly throbbed with pain, and countless fine threads pierced through his heart and swam toward his brain.

His face was as pale as paper, and words lingered on his lips, but it was as if someone had grabbed his neck and he couldn’t speak.

“This is bad.” Celestial Master Zhang immediately went to his side.

It turned out that the gu witch actually wanted Old Master Wang to die.

An Rugu followed closely behind, withdrawing his golden flying sword and decisively reciting the purification incantation.

Lingbao Heavenly Venerable, comfort my body. My soul, my five internal organs, are in profound darkness. Azure Dragon and White Tiger, in orderly ranks. Vermilion Bird and Black Tortoise, guard my body. Hasten, hasten, as the law commands!”

As soon as she finished speaking, Old Master Wang’s expression softened slightly. The red threads inside his body seemed to freeze, no longer moving, stiff as if they were dead.

An Rugu had tried reciting the insect-repelling incantation from the Maoshan arts.

This spell worked on gu worms earlier, but she didn’t know if it would also work on the worm-bird heart gu. Anyway, there was no other way, so she could only try it as a last resort.

Fortunately, the results showed that they were useful.

Red silk threads emerged from his palm, crawling wildly outwards, as if they wanted to get as far away from Old Master Wang as possible.

After much effort, Old Master Wang finally recovered.

His finger, which had been cut by the golden flying sword, had been bandaged and was no longer bleeding.

He was trembling with anger when he learned what had happened. “That day, I was picking up my granddaughter from school when I saw a little boy trying to cross the road. I wasn’t wary of children, so I took his hand and we crossed together. I felt a prick on my hand, but I didn’t think much of it. I never expected to be tricked like that.

“Later, I fell into a daze and basically have no memory of what happened.”

He bowed deeply to An Rugu, expressing his sincere gratitude. “Young friend, you saved my life and are a benefactor of the Wang family. If you ever need anything in the future, just let me know.”

An Rugu was somewhat curious. “When did you get infected?”

“One month ago.”

Old Master Wang was currently in seclusion. He was proficient in curses but not in magical combat. He also got along very well with high-ranking figures such as Celestial Master Zhang and had many opportunities to get close to them.

Celestial Master Zhang said with lingering fear, “If they hadn’t been so eager to achieve results, the fake you could have done a lot of things, which would have been a huge threat to us.”

Old Master Wang was filled with remorse. He had worked diligently for decades, and many people thought highly of him and respected him. He never expected that he would almost ruin his reputation in his later years.

He stroked his beard, his eyes incredibly sharp, and sneered, “Just because I haven’t shown my teeth doesn’t mean I’m a pushover. It’s a pity I don’t have her birth date and time, otherwise I’d curse her to death.”

Everyone has their own expertise; he was skilled in curses but didn’t know much about gu magic, which was why he fell victim to it.

If it were a contest of curses, that witch wouldn’t stand a chance against him.

Celestial Master Zhang looked away and poured cold water on the other party. “They know your curse is powerful, so they didn’t leave any clues. Don’t be so smug.”

Old Master Wang tried to save face, “Curses and poisonous gu can both be used to harm people. Anyone with eyes can see that whoever strikes first has the advantage. Don’t you know that?”

“Young friend, don’t you agree?”

An Rugu could only nod, “That’s right.”

Old Master Wang felt relieved upon hearing her words.
