[ILivestreamDivination] Ch 82.5—Grand Gathering at Celestial Masters Mansion

As for Celestial Master Zhang, his tone betrayed his anxiety.

What happened was equivalent to a group of top doctors having a meeting, and suddenly someone gets infected with the plague; they could naturally handle it 99% of the time.

However, the later the matter was dealt with, the faster the matter would escalate and the more serious the consequences would be, and this would greatly affect the reputation of the Celestial Masters Mansion.

Upon hearing his words, Old Master Wang’s expression froze for a moment, then gradually became serious. “Yes, I understand. I’ll remove the gu from everyone.”

“I’ll go with you. Just tell me what you need and I’ll find it for you.” Celestial Master Zhang followed closely behind, looking extremely anxious.

“Okay.” Old Master Wang walked over and checked on the person who was vomiting violently. His expression grew increasingly serious, as if he had encountered some problem, and he was unwilling to speak for a long time.

Many people panicked upon seeing this. If even Old Master Wang couldn’t handle it, how difficult must this gu witchcraft be?

However, An Rugu who had followed them, immediately said, “Gan gu”.

Mr. Wang seemed to suddenly realize something and slowly said, “…Yes, it’s the ‘gan gu‘ (a type of poisonous gu1).

During the Dragon Boat Festival, centipedes, ants, earthworms, and such were ground into powder and placed before the statues of the Five Plague Gods. After a long time it becomes a potent poison. If this powder was left on the road and people step on it2, the powder would stick to their intestines, causing severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.

An Rugu didn’t say much to him. After checking the tea, she looked directly at the panicked guests next to her and said, “He stepped on some powdered poison gu from some place, which caused him to vomit and have diarrhea.

“Don’t panic, everyone. There’s nothing wrong with the tea.”

If someone else had said this, they might have been skeptical. But since they had learned about An Rugu to some extent through her livestreams, they trusted her quite a bit.

An Rugu stared intently at the person who was vomiting so badly that he couldn’t straighten up, her eyes flickering.

Insect-repelling spells could expel not only external insects but also internal ones. Gu grubs were still insects—she wondered if they could be removed this way.

Immediately afterwards, she recited the Maoshan insect-repelling spell.

After she finished chanting the incantation, an invisible force rushed toward the man who was constantly spitting out green liquid.

He gradually calmed down, feeling utterly exhausted, and returned to his chair, saying with a gesture of gratitude, “Thank you very much, fellow Daoist.”

“How are you feeling?”

He touched his stomach, feeling more refreshed, and said sincerely, “Much better.”

Many of the onlookers, who also knew insect-repelling spells, couldn’t help but marvel at this.

Those spells needed to be used in conjunction with insect-repelling talismans in order to achieve maximum effect, and at most they could only repel mosquitoes and cockroaches within a small area.

She directly removed gu insects…

Why was there such a big difference between people?

The antidote worked as intended and cured the illness, and the chaos gradually subsided.

Celestial Master Zhang was extremely shocked, looking at An Rugu as if he was looking at gold, “Young friend, your power is truly unfathomable.”

If he hadn’t known that she had already completed her apprenticeship and didn’t need anyone to teach her, he would have considered taking her as his disciple. He really didn’t know which lucky person had become her master.

“I also didn’t expect it to work so well.”

An Rugu raised her right hand, staring at her fair palm, lost in thought.

It seemed that as one’s aspirations grew stronger and one focused on cultivation, the effects of mantras and talismans also reached a new level.

Celestial Master Zhang said, “The Celestial Masters Mansion is staffed entirely by our people. It probably wasn’t an insider attack; it must have been something accidentally stepped on while outside. I don’t know how many people have also stepped on it. Young friend, can you help us out?”

Many of the believers were social celebrities with significant influence. If this issue was not resolved quickly, the reputation of the Celestial Masters Mansion will plummet.

After a moment’s thought, An Rugu said, “While everyone’s still here, I’ll chant sutras and incantations.”

Celestial Master Zhang also had this idea in mind, and immediately agreed, “Alright, then I’ll leave it to you.”

So, the Celestial Masters Mansion added another chanting session, and the person in charge was not another priest but An Rugu.

Many believers became anxious when they realized the other party wasn’t from the Celestial Master’s Mansion.

As a result, An Rugu recited a calming mantra first and followed by the insect-repelling mantra.

A cool breeze seemed to caress people’s faces, bringing a sense of clarity to their minds. Those present gazed at her standing before them, lost in thought, having never felt more comfortable and serene as they did now.

It felt like entering a moment of enlightenment, where all worries and anxieties vanished with the gentle breeze.

It wasn’t until long after An Rugu already left that they gradually came to their senses.

The group exchanged bewildered glances, and a thought flashed through their minds simultaneously: that practitioner was truly amazing!

While those social elites were inquiring about An Rugu, she returned to the backyard, where Celestial Master Zhang came to greet her.

He praised, “You did a really good job, young friend.”

He showered her with compliments, making Liang Weiping, who was standing next to him, feel like he had eaten a million lemons.

His master has never praised him like that before!

However, An Rugu was not interested in flattery. She looked at Celestial Master Zhang, her eyes darkening slightly. “Celestial Master, I have something I would like to ask you.”

Celestial Master Zhang stroked his beard, his eyes crinkling, and without needing to be asked anything, answered directly, “That’s exactly what I was thinking too.”

The two exchanged a glance, their eyes flashing with a cold light, their expressions showing perfect understanding.

The young apprentice, Liang Weiping: “???”

What kind of riddle is my master playing at?

Seeing them chatting, Old Master Wang walked over and extended his hand to An Rugu, saying, “Young friend, you are quite talented! May I ask where you studied under? Would you like to become my disciple?”

An Rugu looked at the other person, slowly shook her head, and didn’t extend her hand. “Thank you for your kind offer, but I already have a master.”

Old Master Wang’s hand remained frozen in mid-air, unattended.

Liang Weiping was stunned, not understanding why An Rugu was giving this old master a cold look. Did they just have a fight?

Seeing that the other party did not shake hands with him even after a long time, Old Master Wang had no choice but to awkwardly withdraw his hand with a kind smile on his face, as if he did not mind such a small matter.

“Young friend, you are really aloof, which makes me feel very cold.”

  1. I just left this as is because I can’t find out what gan gu is. ↩︎
  2. I don’t think this ‘stepped on’ is literal. Maybe it just means the person somehow came into contact with the crushed gu powder. ↩︎
