[ILivestreamDivination] Chapter 58.5 — Lady of Mount Tai

In fact, the Lady of Mount Tai not only controlled all fox affairs in the world, but also presided over fertility, and oversaw the fate of good and evil in the world. She was a very powerful deity.

This group of people climbed dozens of steps to the temple grounds and were led into the main hall as pilgrims. The statue that stood in front of them was of ‘Bixia Yujun’, the Lady of Mount Tai, which was one of the five Sacred Mountains.

The statue was extremely majestic.

An Rugu took Zhou Yu’er to burn incense and then sat down on the mat. The Lady of Mount Tai was in charge of all fox affairs in the world, so the question of what to do about this matter—one could only ask the Lady of Mount Tai.

An Rugu had some doubts in her heart. She communicated most with the gods enshrined in Cloud Rise Temple and had never communicated with the Lady of Mount Tai.

She didn’t know whether the other party was be willing to give her face in this matter.

In the remote reaches of Mount Tai, in a special plane.

The pretty-faced Nineteenth Miss Hu was slumped lying on the table, soundly sleeping, her soft snoring echoing throughout the hall.

At this time, a memorial suddenly appeared on Nineteenth Miss Hu’s desk.

Nineteenth Miss Hu was 760 years old and was the nineteenth fox attendant of the Lady of Mount Tai. She usually handled the prayers of various believers.

Sixteenth Miss Hu entered the hall and saw that Nineteenth Miss Hu was sleeping soundly. She took the document and patted her head, “Nineteen, something has come.”

Nineteenth Miss Hu woke up from her dream, sat up straight, picked up the brush, and quickly opened the document, “I’m working, I’m working.”

Sixteenth Miss Hu: “…”

She wanted to scold her for being lazy, but then she thought, everything that happened here, nothing could be hidden from the Lady of Mount Tai. No matter how lazy Nineteen was, she was tacitly allowed to be so.

So she simply didn’t say anything but silently said in her heart, “Her Grace is so kind.”

Nineteenth Miss Hu was a little puzzled, “I don’t want to sleep either, but it’s too boring here. All the ordinary prayers are being handled by other people. I haven’t received any special petitions for several years. Is this pilgrim of extraordinary status, or is this prayer particularly difficult?”

“I don’t know either, why don’t you take a look,” said Sixteenth Miss Hu.

Nineteenth Miss Hu opened the letter, feeling very curious. The first page was about what happened to Zhou Yu’er and Hu Lai. The petitioner asked how the Fox world would deal with this matter.

The Nineteenth Miss pinched her chin, pondered for a moment, and wrote down the following words, According to Fox Law, those who seduce others will be beaten back to their base form and will never be allowed to serve as fox officials for the rest of their lives.

Turning to the second page, An Rugu had asked, right now the fox’s mana has been exhausted, he was plagued by negative karma, his breath was on the line, and his life was in danger—could he be cured?

The Nineteenth Miss lowered her gaze and pondered, then she took out a pill from the box beside her and put it into the memorial. The pill was immediately absorbed into the document.

She wrote with a brush, “This is a special elixir for healing foxes. His life needs to be saved so that he can return to his fox form and continue cultivating.”

She finished processing the paperwork and didn’t feel that this was anything special. She scratched her head and said, “Sixteen, this incident seems quite ordinary. Why was it sent to me?”

The Sixteenth Miss picked up the memorial and looked at it carefully. After a long time, a gleam of light flashed in her eyes, “Since the matter is an ordinary matter, then it means that the person is not an ordinary person.”

The Nineteenth Miss quickly took out some files to check Hu Lai, and she suddenly realized, “This Hu Lai, he is a genius among ordinary foxes, and he was able to cultivate to this extent in ten years. If he hadn’t suffered this disaster, Lady of Mount Tai’s Celestial Fox Court would have had another talented person.”

The Sixteenth Miss shook her head slowly, “An ordinary fox is an ordinary fox after all. No matter how outstanding he is, he can’t reach the ears of the gods. What I mean is that this petitioner is different.”

When the Nineteenth Miss heard this gossip, she said excitedly, “Who sent it? Could it be a heavenly master on earth?”

Only a heavenly master on earth, that is, a master of the hidden fate, could submit memorials directly to the gods.

“I’m just speculating. Wait a moment and I’ll ask.”

The Sixteenth Miss prayed in her heart for a moment, and a line of obscure words suddenly appeared on the document.

This be a missive from the Emissary of the Blue Sky.

For those who served the Lady of Mount Tai, the handwriting looked very familiar: it was the handwriting of the Lady of Mount Tai herself.

The Nineteenth Miss propped up her chin, very curious, “What does Her Grace mean? What is the ‘Emissary from the Blue Sky’?”

She raised her head and suddenly found that Sixteenth Miss was terrified, in stark contrast to her previous calm appearance, as if she had seen some terrible words.

“What’s going on?”

The Sixteenth Miss shook her head and put the document away, “There are some things you should ask about, and some things you can’t ask about.”

“Tsk, if you don’t tell me, then I don’t want to know.”

The Nineteenth Lady couldn’t know the secret and she scratched her ears and patted cheeks, but there was nothing she could do, so she simply lay on the table and went back to sleep.

… …

The Sixteenth Miss went to the main hall alone and looked at the majestic statue with confusion in her heart and eyes.

As the favorite attendant of the Lady of Mount Tai, she has heard of this most confidential secret.

The Emissary of the Blue Sky, as the name suggests, was an emissary from Heaven itself. Whenever a catastrophe was imminent, Heaven would choose a deity to descend to earth.

Gods could not directly interfere with human affairs, so the chosen deity would have their memories and abilities wiped out, and they had to start from scratch.

The last time this happened, the Blue Sky Emissary descended upon the demon world; it was because of a great disturbance in the demon world. This time, it was the human world…

She didn’t know whether the Blue Sky Emissary came to the human world in their real body or in disguise.

She didn’t know which god in Heaven has lost their memory and was now living under this skin.

But, at least, the one deity that could be ruled out was the Lady of Mount Tai. After all, she had just been communicating with them.

T/N:  The ‘Hu’ (胡) here is a  surname. It also means whiskers. When An Rugu identified the 5 Immortals a few chapters back, she called them by their ‘alias’— Whiskers, Yellow, White, Willow, and Gray.

Fox in Chinese is also ‘Hu’ (狐) but different character.

  1. aah, this explain why she is so overpowered, and her heart is too calm, her ability is so far above other practioners in the story that it feels like cheating, but turn out she is a god herself, maybe the calamity will give her a good fight in the future

  2. ohhh! So interesting!

  3. Ooh, she’s a god? That explains a lot about her capabilities.

I actually forgot it was mentioned this early. I thought it came out much later in the story.
