Lingjia Capital invested in Luo Qi’s father’s company. It must have been because of Jiang Shenghe’s connection. She didn’t know what favors he exchanged with Lingjia’s boss.
If he could exchange favors, then the friendship between them should be good.
She didn’t want to be tied down by the debt of a favor just because Lingjia helped her father’s company, otherwise she wouldn’t be able to do anything about Cui Peng. So she didn’t want Jiang Shenghe to come forward, and right now, she didn’t want to know who the boss behind Lingjia Capital was. She would deal with Cui Peng in her own way.
Wait until after she dealt with Cui Peng.
Jiang Shenghe respected her intentions and only said things to make her feel confident, “No matter who it is from Lingjia Capital, you can offend them as much as you like.”
But of course, she wouldn’t offend anyone just because.
… …
It was already getting late by the time they got back to the villa.
At this time of the day, the house would usually be very quiet. Today, several helpers were in the living room, and the villa felt very lively.
Luo Qi tilted her head and asked Jiang Shenghe, “Is there any happy event at home?”
”You go in and see.”
Jiang Shenghe didn’t say anything more and just helped her take the few potted plants out of the car.
Luo Qi quickly entered the villa. The helpers were playing with two little, snow-white puppies! The two were Samoyeds.
Luo Qi was so surprised she couldn’t express it in words. Jiang Shenghe walked up to her side.
Luo Qi turned and hugged him, “How did you know I like Samoyed?”
Being held by her in front of so many people at home, Jiang Shenghe was embarrassed and looked away from the doorway.
After Luo Qi asked this, she immediately realized the answer, “Did you ask Luo Yu?”
“Yeah.” Jiang Shenghe patted her, “Don’t just keep hugging me, go hug the puppies.”
Luo Qi hugged him again before letting go. She has always liked dogs but had never had one. When she held them in her arms, she was as excited and happy as a new mother.
She spent the whole night taking care of the two puppies; Jiang Shenghe also helped.
… …
Qin Moling sent a message: [Are you back from Suzhou?]
[Yeah, I’m already home.]
[Wanna go to the club to play cards?]
[No time.]
Jiang Shenghe looked at the two little puppies and typed: [I have become a father.]
Qin Moling: “…!”
This was sailing away like a rocket ship.
It couldn’t get launched for seven years, but now it has suddenly reached the sky in one giant leap.
[Weren’t you going to chase Luo Qi? Your relationship is not yet that strong, and you’ve already become a father? You only learned bad things from certain people in the group, and you didn’t learn any good things. You immediately fathered a child?]
Jiang Shenghe: “…”
Qin Moling: [But congratulations anyway! And congratulations to me for being promoted to uncle.]
Jiang Shenghe deliberately let him misunderstand: [I will take my son to play with you in the future.]
Qin Moling: [Didn’t you just get the marriage certificate on September 25? It’s only been a couple of months, and you already know the gender?]
Jiang Shenghe laughed out loud and took a photo of the puppy. He sent it.
Qin Moling was so angry that he almost blocked him. It turned out that Jiang Shenghe got a pet dog. [Will you tire yourself out if you say a few more words to explain?]
Jiang Shenghe got back to business: [Are you at the club now?]
[Mm.]
Qin Moling didn’t force him, [“If you have time, just come over. There’s a project that I think is pretty good.”]
Jiang Shenghe: [I’ll be there in a bit.]
Luo Qi was now accompanied by the puppies and didn’t need him for the time being.

These days, in addition to Jiang Shenghe, Luo Qi had another concern. Whenever she went out for the day, she would keep thinking about going home early.
At the beginning of a new week, life in Ruipu was as leisurely as ever.
Luo Qi finished watering the flowers, plants, and potted strawberries, then picked two strawberries that were about to ripen. Before she could wash them, Chi Xin knocked on the door and came in, “Ms. Luo.”
Chi Xin was not as cheerful as usual and was a little hesitant.
“Just tell me what’s going on.”
“… Cui Peng came to see you again and said she has something to discuss with you.”
Luo Qi was sure that Cui Peng would come today, but she was not welcome in her office.
“Tell her that if she has something to discuss, discuss it with Shu Rui. If Shu Rui can’t decide on it, then it’s Shu Rui who will report to me. She’s not qualified to come to me directly.”
The office door was open. Cui Peng was not far outside the door, and she could hear every word clearly.
Cui Peng sneered coldly. No one here was nobler than the other.
She turned around and left with the documents in hand.
Luo Qi really thought that Jiang Shenghe would support her for the rest of her life. Cui Peng didn’t believe that Jiang Shenghe’s wife wouldn’t find any clues about their affair after a while.
Shu Rui was at the company today, and Cui Peng went directly to find him.
When she entered his office, she apologized, “I’m sorry about this, it’s hard for you to be in the middle again.” She put the file on his desk, “Our Lingjia’s President Yu asked me to give this to Luo Qi, but I got rejected from seeing her.”
Shu Rui looked through the document. Cui Peng was really not looking to cause trouble for Luo Qi. This document was indeed very important.
“I’m sorry for making your job difficult.”
Cui Peng smiled and said, “It’s okay. As long as you know.”
She didn’t stay long and moved to leave after talking about her work.
“Mr. Shu, you are busy.”
She closed the door and left.
Shu Rui rubbed his brow. He heard that Cui Peng was already stationed in Beijing.
Maybe she felt that he was business-oriented, and she was careful every time she came over and each time she talked to him.
Shu Rui put his glasses back on and went to Luo Qi’s office to bring her the document.
The door was open, so he knocked twice and directly entered.
“From Lingjia Capital. This is sent to you by Mr. Yu.” He put the documents on her desk and sat down opposite her.
Luo Qi was reading the email Li Rui sent in reply to her and casually glanced at the documents on the table, “Is there anything else, Mr. Shu?”
“Even if you have objections to Cui Peng, at least you have to communicate normally at work, right? Are you really planning to never see her or communicate with her at all?”
Shu Rui couldn’t tell who he was helping. “Cui Peng is related to Xu Xiangyi. She calls Xu Xiangyi ‘Uncle’. You should try not to have a conflict with her at work.”
“What relation she has with anyone, it has nothing to do with me.”
Luo Qi continued to read the email, “I won’t ignore her forever. Do remember to inform her to attend the executive meeting in the middle of next month.”
Seventh Year of My Secret Love for You translated by Maela @ whitemoonlighttranslations.com
T/N: Qin Moling scolding Jiang Shenghe for becoming a father early but also congratulating himself for being promoted to uncle is hilarious 🤣
But this make me want to point out something: someone left a review on NU saying that it makes zero sense for Lou Qi to not want to be in a relationship with Jiang Shenghe and yet agree to marry him. This is a c-novel translation and it carries very different cultural/societal norms and expectations. Dating for love and marriage are not always the same things. It’s why you get the phrase ‘cultivating feelings’ because sometimes the couple are already tied together but have no emotional foundation yet. Of course it’s best if you love your partner, but it’s not required. Liking, companionship, respect, suitability (age, family status, finances, education level)—these are all good things too.
Luo Qi got burned and didn’t want to be in a love relationship anymore. Jiang Shenghe is desperate to keep her by his side and offered marriage. And why not? He has a lot to offer any woman—rich, handsome, clean-living. On the one hand, which (c-novel) woman in their right mind would say no? On the other, Luo Qi was actually on the brink of falling in love with Jiang Shenghe. She wasn’t unmoved. She wasn’t willing to invest in an emotional relationship which could end in another heartbreak, but marriage with its legality and lifetime commitment was something else.
As for Jiang Shenghe, it was clear to him that marriage was his only chance. Once Luo Qi is tied to him, he can pursue her slowly. Which is why Qin Moling was scolding him—why did he get Luo Qi pregnant when they weren’t emotionally ready yet? Are you just a beast?? 😂
Did you watch ‘The Proposal’ featuring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds? He says there ‘Marry me. Because I’d like to date you.” Isn’t it the same?
