[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 39.3 — Schedule the Wedding

Official notice of Jian Hang’s resignation and Tan Feng’s appointment as new country manager was sent to the email addresses of all employees of the country branch via internal email.

Rumors flew all over the branch, and people huddled together in small groups.

Lin Xiao didn’t care about the chatter in the group chat and directly asked someone to help him buy fireworks. The she-devil was finally leaving—he wanted to set off fireworks for three days and three nights to celebrate his liberation from her tyranny and his new life.

After he finished ordering the fireworks, he sent red envelopes to everyone to celebrate.

Anyway, he no shortage of money, and red envelopes fell like snowflakes.

He, Lin Xiao, was finally free starting today.

After returning home, Jian Hang took a bottle of cold lemonade from the refrigerator. It was a new flavor launched by Lemeng this year.

She would be leaving her job soon, and her replacement would be Tan Feng. The news came too suddenly. She needed to digest it carefully.

Jian Hang had just opened the lemonade bottle when Qin Moling took it away.

“I already unscrewed it.” She thought Qin Moling wanted to help her open the bottle cap.

Qin Moling handed her a glass of warm water and said, “During this period when we are nourishing your stomach, try to drink less cold water and sour drinks.”

Jian Hang would not be willful about such things and took the warm water he was handing her.

Qin Moling absentmindedly turned the drink bottle in his hand. It was incredible that Tan Feng gave up such a high position in his old company and then went to Yinlin to take over Jian Hang’s job.

It would be like if he gave up being the CEO of Lemeng and went to another company that was not as good as Lemeng to be the head of a branch office. What reason did Tan Feng have to think that making such a big sacrifice was worth it?

When Jian Hang was hospitalized, Tan Feng was the only person of the opposite sex who visited her. Tan Feng was more familiar with her parents than he was.

Jian Hang went on a business trip to Suzhou, and Tan Feng traveled thousands of miles to go there and meet her.

Qin Moling took a sip of the cold lemonade. He didn’t want to guess anymore, so he asked directly, “Does Tan Feng like you?”

Jian Hang: “…”

She shook her head, “He has someone he loved before and has been hurt emotionally.”

As for what he had experienced, Tan Feng didn’t say anything in detail, and she didn’t dare to ask too much.

Now that they were speaking of Tan Feng, Qin Moling asked tentatively, “Do you know many of your parents’ students?”

Jian Hang thought for a moment, “I know about ten of my father’s students, and I only know you and Jiang Shenghe among my mother’s students. The main reason is that my mother only taught the lower grades in primary school, and those students are still very young—they won’t have any contact with their first and second grade teachers after graduation.”

“Are you still in touch with your elementary school classmates?” she asked.

Qin Moling replied, ”Yes, but not many.”

This was the first time they simply chatted together and it was not awkward. Perhaps it was because  they were talking about things that happened in primary school, and he even took the initiative to agree with her.

Jian Hang was in a good mood and started chatting, “I still remember a little bit about your class. After my kindergarten class, I would wait for my mother in her office to go home with her.

“My mother asked the disobedient boys in your class who disrupt class discipline to go to her office and do their homework there.”

Qin Moling turned his head and looked at her steadily, “Do you still remember who these boys were?”

Jian Hang didn’t remember. “My impression is vague. I can’t remember what their faces looked like, and I don’t know their names. I asked my mom, and she said she has forgotten too.”

Qin Moling nodded slightly but said nothing.

Jian Hang suddenly looked at him, “Did you ever meet me when you were a child?”

Yes.

… …

At that time, he, Jiang Shenghe, and several other disobedient classmates were left in the teacher’s office to do their homework. He didn’t want to do it, so he spent his time teasing her.

She was reading an English picture book, and he read a few paragraphs to her and even said that Olive sounded better than Olivia.

After he changed his homeroom teacher in the third grade, he never saw her again and forgot about those things.

It was not until the end of last year that his mother said that the blind date he was supposed to meet was the daughter of his primary school teacher.

He suddenly wanted to see her.

She still vaguely looked like she did when she was a child.

Who would have thought that she would actually change her English name to Olive later on.

… …

Qin Moling said, “I don’t remember whether I met you or not.”

Jian Hang didn’t doubt him. After all, more than 20 years has passed, and her own memory was vague.

Whether it was during the blind date or after getting the marriage certificate, the elders of both families never talked about their childhood. She and Qin Moling should have had no interaction when they were young.

He was a top student, graduated from one of the world’s top universities, and skipped grades in both elementary and junior high school. When he was a child, he would definitely not have been kept in the teacher’s office to do homework, so it was normal that he never met her back then.
