[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 25.3 — Husband

Jian Hang stayed with him on the balcony for a few minutes then returned to the living room to tidy up the coffee table. Qin Moling also went over to help.

There were several books related to the Mathematics Olympiad on the coffee table. Qin Moling replaced the bookmarks and closed the book, “Dad usually studies the Mathematical Olympiad?”

Jian Hang shook her head, “My mother often reads up on it after she retired, but my father has no time.”

Qin Moling put the books back on the bookshelf, and also arranged the other scattered books on the bookshelf according to height.

Jian Hang also has a bit of an obsessive-compulsive disorder, and when the two were putting away things, they found they unexpectedly matched.

When Jian Zhongjun came home, he saw such a harmonious scene. His daughter and son-in-law were standing in front of the bookshelf, sorting books. They were immersed in their task and did not pay attention to the sound of the door opening.

He didn’t enter the house anymore and instead closed the door gently behind him.

As he walked away, he couldn’t help but laugh, feeling indescribably happy. Jian Zhongjun went downstairs to wait for his wife.

… …

Jian Hang and Qin Moling had dinner at home before going back. Before leaving, Jian Hang went to her bedroom to pack a few pajamas to bring back to the villa. She only brought two pajamas with her when she moved in that day.

She came out with a bag, and Qin Moling naturally took it.

Jian Hang wanted to refuse, but then thought that she was the one who had asked him to play the role of a loving husband, so she had to give him the bag.

When they got downstairs, Qin Moling put the bag in the back seat of the car. There was a men’s suit jacket on the back seat. He recognized it as the one he accidentally dropped to the floor in the hospital.

She still kept it.

Qin Moling thought the suit hadn’t been dry cleaned yet.

When they got back to the villa, he took the suit jacket out of the car.

Jian Hang brought out the small flower box. When she turned around, she saw the suit jacket in his hand. It seemed that he was going to take it back and wear it again, but she had already worn it twice. “Give me that first. I’ll have it dry cleaned and then return it to you.”

Qin Moling did not hand it to her, “I’ll just ask Aunt Geng to send it to dry cleaning.”

Jian Hang carried the flower box and pajamas upstairs; Qin Moling went to find Aunt Geng.

Aunt Geng was preparing ingredients for tomorrow’s breakfast. “You’re back,” she greeted.

“Yes.” Qin Moling put the suit jacket on the back of the chair, “Auntie, please send this for dry cleaning tomorrow.”

Aunt Geng said, “Xiao Hang doesn’t want to wear it anymore?”

“Did she wear it?” Qin Moling was surprised.

“Yes, it was cold when she was discharged from the hospital. She wore it to protect herself from the wind, thinking you didn’t want it anymore.” Aunt Geng added, “I had it dry cleaned before.”

“Then there’s no need to wash it.” Qin Moling took the suit jacket back to the living room. Jian Hang’s car keys were on the coffee table. He picked up the car keys and went to the yard.

He opened the car door, folded the suit, and put it back on the back seat.

The next day was the weekend.

Jian Hang still had to go to the company today.

She washed up and went downstairs wearing a gray sweater.

Qin Moling was making coffee. He was also wearing a dark gray shirt today.

He looked at her and glanced away.

More than once, they ended up wearing clothes of the same color.

Like somehow they had discussed it.

Jian Hang also wanted to drink coffee today and asked, “Do you usually make your own coffee?”

“No. Aunt Geng is just busy cooking.” Qin Moling gave her the first cup of brewed coffee, placing the cup next to her, within easy reach. He took his own cup and sat across from her.

She didn’t know if it was just her overthinking things but after returning home with Qin Moling yesterday afternoon, she felt that their cold relationship has somehow improved, yet there didn’t seem to be much of a change and he was still taciturn.

Looking at the coffee at hand, Jian Hang remembered that when she was hospitalized, he said he would make her a full cup of coffee when she was discharged. “Thanks.”

There was no need to respond deliberately to such words of thanks. Qin Moling didn’t say a word and brought his own cup of coffee to his mouth.

Jian Hang was used to him being silent most of the time. She cut a hard-boiled egg, poured some lemon juice on it, and ate it slowly.

She liked to eat hard-boiled eggs, and Qin Moling liked to eat soft-boiled eggs. Aunt Geng kept all their preferences in mind and never made mistakes.

After she moved to the villa, Aunt Geng has been taking good care of her food.

“Xiao Hang, do you like tea eggs?” Aunt Geng said coming out of the kitchen. “If you like them, I’ll change the taste for you.”

They had been eating hard-boiled eggs for a week, and Aunt Geng was afraid that Jian Hang would get tired of them.

Jian Hang smiled and said, “Okay, I also like tea eggs.”

In the past few days, Aunt Geng called her by her nickname more and more smoothly, and she sounded friendly.

Halfway through breakfast, the silence was broken by a phone call.

Jian Hang looked at the caller’s name and saw that it was Lawyer Xing.

She hired Lawyer Xing as her attorney in the case against Mrs. Gao.

Jian Hang answered and put the phone to her ear, “Hello, Lawyer Xing.”

When Qin Moling heard that it was a lawyer, his first reaction was to avoid it. Law firms were usually involved in merger and acquisition projects, and these projects often involved many commercial secrets.

Jian Hang didn’t ask him avoid it, but he was not a person who didn’t know things.

Qin Moling stood up and picked up the coffee, heading to the kitchen.

Jian Hang pulled the phone a little away from her mouth and said to Qin Moling, “You don’t have to avoid it, it’s about Mrs. Gao’s case.”

Hearing this, Qin Moling sat back down again.

He hadn’t been paying attention recently and didn’t know how the case was going and when it would go to trial.

“If it’s convenient, then I’ll hear the progress.”

It was no inconvenience. After all, when Mrs. Gao made a big fuss in her office, he helped her deal with the aftermath and even saved her some hefty public relations fees.

Jian Hang consulted Lawyer Xing in advance, “Lawyer Xing, my husband also wants to listen in. Can I put you on speaker?”

“Sure, no problem.”

Jian Hang turned on the speaker.

… …

Qin Moling’s eyes fell on her face for a few seconds. He heard her call him ‘husband’ for the first time today. Although she didn’t say it to him directly, he couldn’t describe what it felt like to hear this title from her mouth.

When Qin Moling came to his senses, Lawyer Xing was about to finish speaking. He only heard Lawyer Xing say that the case had recently been heard in court.

As for what else Lawyer Xing said, he didn’t hear any of it.

T/N: Qin Moling, you’re supposed to be the domineering CEO here 😂😂😂

Tea eggs are boiled eggs that are then soaked/re-boiled with its shell cracked in a mixture of tea and other spices. The cracked shell gives it the distinctive marbled pattern.

  1. I want tea eggs. I’m still hungry from lunch.

    Totally off topic:

Did you know tungsten carbide rings can be relatively brittle?

They’re super hard and scratch resistant, but because they’re so hard they’re vulnerable to sudden sharp force when hit just wrong or with sudden temperature shifts. I will have to get a new one, but I just thought that was an interesting tidbit which might be useful to someone.

Don’t be me and accidentally drop a tungsten ring on the tile. It was loose when I washed my hands and had just been washed with warm water in a cold room. I didn’t realize and so when I was wiping my hands dry near the door, I accidentally yeet-ed it into the tile and it was done.

I will keep this in mind 😳

      1. In the same vein, diamonds are very hard, but relatively brittle and weak to impact. Diamonds are forever, but when diamond points meets hammer it becomes gem shards.

So I guess dont put a diamond, point up on a hard surface and smash it. 😂

        1. oh, or if you drop it just the wrong way and it hits badly like tip first or do, it might also break.
