[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 23.1

Jian Hang stopped turning on the lights for Qin Moling and simply left him to turn it on by himself to avoid having to turn the lights on and off constantly.

Back in the master bedroom, her heart was still pounding.

She clicked on Qin Moling’s dialog box. He sent her a message half an hour ago.

Qin Moling: [You stay in the master bedroom, your two suitcases are in the master bedroom dressing room. I will stay in the second bedroom.]

Jian Hang was embarrassed but at the same time felt extremely lucky. Fortunately, she didn’t catch him taking a shower, and she didn’t see anything she shouldn’t have seen.

Jian Hang put down her phone, took a deep breath, and went to the bathroom.

The bathroom in the master bedroom was twice the size of the second bedroom, exquisite and bright, with a jacuzzi by the window and even an audio-visual system, so you can watch videos or listen to music while taking a bath.

She planned to enjoy it to the fullest.

The washstand was filled with women’s toiletries; everything she’d need from head to toe.

There was also a small built-in refrigerator, tastefully coordinated to blend with the color and design of the wall. However, Jian Hang did not notice that it was a refrigerator and only thought that the overall design was like this.

After coming out of the bathroom, Jian Hang went to find her suitcase for some clothes and opened the door of the cloakroom. Although she was mentally prepared, she was still shocked by the luxurious decoration.

The cheapest items inside were her two suitcases.

The two suitcases—one large and one small—were gifts given to her by her grandparents when she went to study abroad in high school.

They were very useful and in good condition, so she has been using it to this day.

Jian Hang spent half an hour sorting out her items. She emptied the suitcases and carefully put them away.

Maybe it was because she had just moved to a new place, and the bedroom was so big that it didn’t feel like home at all. She felt like she had mistakenly entered a place that she didn’t belong in.

This feeling of unreality did not dissipate even after she took a shower and lay on the bed.

She thought how Qin Moling had slept in this bed before, and she couldn’t sleep even more.

Jian Hang didn’t sleep well that night.

… …

The next morning, before the alarm went off, Jian Hang woke up.

She opened her eyes, feeling a little dazed. She woke up on the huge bed and for a few seconds she didn’t realize where she was.

Qin Moling got up earlier than her. After she washed up and went downstairs, he had already finished his morning exercise and was sitting at the dining table having breakfast.

“Good morning.”

Out of politeness, Jian Hang greeted him politely.

“Yeah,” Qin Moling raised his eyelids but looked away before he could see her clearly.

From his tone to his glance, he was not warm to her at all. Jian Hang couldn’t help but wonder if he was the same person who vented his anger for her in the club that night.

His attitude before and now were completely different.

After she moved here, he became distinctly distant from her.

Jian Hang sat down opposite him, took the bowl of oatmeal, added a few spoons of banana puree to it, and slowly stirred it.

Aunt Geng came out of the kitchen. She made some steamed shrimp dumplings for them, and she put two on each plate.

The breakfast was sumptuous. Aunt Geng was worried that she would bring too many steamed dumplings for them to finish, but she was also worried that two each would not be enough for them. “There are still more in the pot. I’ll get them for you when you’re done with these.”

When Aunt Geng returned to the kitchen, Jian Hang was curious about where Qin Moling heard that she liked to eat this.

So she asked, “How do you know I like to eat steamed dumplings?”

Qin Moling was drinking coffee. He paused for a moment and said, “A guess.”

Jian Hang replied, “Then you guessed wrong, I don’t like eating it.”

After saying that, she stared at Qin Moling. His expression was calm, and she didn’t catch any strange flicker in his face.

It seemed like he was really just guessing.

It was just weird that he guessed that she liked to eat steamed dumplings.

… …

Ever since she said he guessed wrong and that she didn’t actually like steamed dumplings, no shrimp steamed dumplings appeared at the breakfast table for three days in a row.

During the few days she has lived with Qin Moling, they could only see each other in the mornings.

Today, Wednesday, Jian Hang received a message from Qin Moling: [Are you going to work overtime tonight?]

Jian Hang paid attention to the wording when replying: [I have to work overtime every day. Even if I don’t work overtime at the company, I still have to work when I get home.]

Qin Moling: [Then come early and work overtime at home.]

It seemed that he had something to ask her about. Jian Hang: [Okay.]

Before getting off work, Jian Hang remembered that Aunt Geng was not at home today.

A romantic movie starring Tan Mo Xing has recently been released. Aunt Geng bought a ticket for tonight and went to go watch the movie.

Jian Hang asked Qin Moling, [“What do you eat at night?”]

Qin Moling replied to her: [Just buy something.]

Jian Hang suddenly wanted to eat sushi. On her way home, she passed by SZ Restaurant and bought some sushi to take home.

When she arrived at the villa, Qin Moling had already returned and was in the dining room. There were two laptops open on the dining table, and he was engrossed in looking at the screen.

He didn’t look up when he heard her footsteps.

The dining table in the villa was similar to the one in his apartment. It was long and could accommodate twenty people at a time. It was comparable to Yinlin’s conference table.

“Why aren’t you in the study?” Jian Hang asked; she put her laptop bag on the chair..

“I won’t make phone calls on Wednesdays from now on,” Qin Moling said. “Let’s work overtime in the dining room instead. If we have anything to say, we can tell each other directly.”

Jian Hang suddenly realized that today, Wednesday, was the day they agreed to call once a week to get to know each other. She thought he asked her to come and work overtime at home because he wanted to talk to her about the Wanyue Group project.

“Have you eaten?” She put the sushi on the table and went to wash her hands.

Qin Moling replied, “Not yet.”

He put down the mouse and went to the kitchen to serve dinner.

Jian Hang came back after washing her hands and couldn’t help but be surprised when she saw the sumptuous dinner on the table. She also went to unpack the food she bought at the SZ restaurant.

She opened the sushi box and handed it over, “Try it.”

Qin Moling didn’t like sushi, but he still took one.

To avoid being left in the cold, Jian Hang took the initiative to talk to him today, “Their sushi tastes similar to what I make.”

Qin Moling looked at her, “Can you make sushi?”

Jian Hang nodded and said, “I can also cook.”

Qin Moling couldn’t imagine what it was like for Jian Hang to cook. “Do you often cook for yourself?”

“I haven’t done much cooking in the past few years. But when I was abroad, I cooked when I had time. They said it was delicious.” Jian Hang only ate one piece of sushi then started eating the meal he bought.

Qin Moling wondered who ‘they’ were.

Jian Hang wanted to ease the atmosphere between them in gratitude for his help in getting the Wanyue project, so she brought up the topic of cooking randomly, but who knew he didn’t respond to the conversation at all.

The silence grew between them again.

  1. I’m sighing like that 90 year old sushi chef who tried imitation wasabi for the first time.

A long drawn out sigh of disappointment.

I think it was a cantomando video.

  2. Ugh did the blockhead clam up because he thought she cooked for other men🙄?
