[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 22.1 — Wrong Bedroom

Jian Hang looked towards the just opened door of the master bedroom. Qin Moling was putting on a watch. The top button of his shirt was casually left unbuttoned.

Aunt Geng and the maid went downstairs leaving the two of them alone.

Jian Hang had the suitcase handle in her hand. The distance between her and Qin Moling was at most four or five meters.

Thinking that he said they were not yet familiar with each other and that the wedding would be postponed, it may be that he only intended to stay married to her temporarily.

But even if he planned for them to stay married, she wouldn’t be able to sleep with him in the same room right now. She would always be so embarrassed when she sees him—what would be the point of lying on the same bed?

They should at least wait until they get to know each other better and get used to each other’s presence for a week or two before actually moving in the same room.

Jian Hang heard from Aunt Geng that in addition to the master bedroom and study, there were two other bedrooms upstairs. The door beside her should be one of them.

She asked, “Should I take this secondary bedroom, or the other one?”

Qin Moling paused in the middle of buckling his watch and stared at her for a few seconds.

He didn’t expect her to ask this.

The master bedroom was connected to a walk-in closet measuring more than 40 square meters. He only used one-fifth of it, and left the rest of the wardrobe empty for her to use.

Since she wanted to stay in separate bedrooms, he won’t force her.

“Whichever room you want to stay in.”

Saying these words, Qin Moling left, passing her by.

Jian Hang turned and looked at his back. Just now, his voice was cold, his face was expressionless, and he had an unhappy aura all over his body.

It probably had nothing to do with her; she didn’t offend him.

Jian Hang followed the principle of proximity and pushed the suitcases to the bedroom closest to her. The two suitcases were placed side by side next to the bed.

There was no time to sort things out; Saturday was also a working day for her.

She had meetings scheduled that never seemed to end.

She hurried downstairs and found Qin Moling sitting in the dining room having breakfast.

Aunt Geng saw her coming down the stairs and called her to eat. She even arranged a place for her, “See if there is anything you want to eat here. If not, I will make it for you.”

If she had known that Jian Hang would move in today, she would have made steamed shrimp dumplings.

Jian Hang glanced at her watch and saw that she was running out of time.

Every Saturday morning, her parents would walk to the front of her office building and chat with her.

She was already delayed by delivering her luggage today.

She declined the enthusiastic Aunt Geng, “Auntie, it’s already too late today. You can do it for me tomorrow.”

“Wait a minute.” Aunt Geng walked to the kitchen.

After a while, she came out carrying a packed bag.

“You take this to the company to eat. No matter how busy you are, you can’t neglect your health.”

Inside were some washed fruits, two boxes of yogurt, and a few candies—in case Jian Hang would feel faint from low blood sugar again.

Aunt Geng added more, “The three meals a day must be eaten on time. If your mother knew that you were neglecting your health for work, how distressed would she be.”

These words hit Jian Hang’s heart. “Thank you, Auntie,” she took the bag.

“No need to be so polite in the future.”

Old Madam Qin had told Aunt Geng to try to bring together the young couple as much as possible, but not to do it too obviously. Preparing fruits was not so obvious.

This way, Jian Hang would have Qin Moling in her thoughts.

This could be considered as indirectly matching them.

Aunt Geng felt that her move was very appropriate.

Before leaving, Jian Hang took another look at her plastic husband. He had been eating with his head down the whole time, ignoring her, as if she was an insignificant person.

Remembering that he was in a bad mood, she didn’t mind and take it to heart.

… …

Jian Hang left with the bag of life-extending food packed for her by Aunt Geng.

When her footsteps could no longer be heard and her silhouette had disappeared from his peripheral vision, Qin Moling raised his head. The table was full of sumptuous breakfast, but he had no appetite.

After eating a runny omelet, he put down his chopsticks and picked up his coffee to drink.

It took her so long to finally move here, and when she did, she wanted to stay in a separate room.

If she was unhappy with the situation, he wouldn’t force her to live in the second bedroom.

Qin Moling put down the coffee cup and said, “Auntie, please let someone free up the master bedroom for Jian Hang to stay in. I will sleep in the second bedroom.”

Aunt Geng was wiping the island and didn’t catch Qin Moling’s words for a moment. He didn’t even return home when he came back from a business trip—he went straight to the hospital to stay overnight. She thought their relationship as a couple had already eased.

There were some things she couldn’t ask more about, so she only said, “Oh, okay.”

It seemed that just preparing fruits for Jian Hang would not be enough.

… …

Qin Moling took his suit jacket and went out. The driver was already waiting in the yard. When his boss came out, he got out of the car and opened the door.

The driver had always kept in mind the instructions about delivering the liangpi noodles to Han Shuang. He confirmed the time again, “Mr. Qin, should I deliver the liangpi at 11:30?”

Qin Moling nodded and said nothing more.

This driver was not only a driver; he was Qin Moling’s bodyguard. He only drove part-time, and many of Qin Moling’s personal matters were left for him to deal with.

He was instructed for the liangpi to be delivered at 11:30, and it would never be even a minute late.

The driver had four portions of liangpi from Jian Hang’s grandfather’s shop packed and delivered right on time.

… …

Han Shuang was about to go to lunch when she heard from her secretary that someone at the reception downstairs had brought her liangpi. She thought it was Zhong Yanfei who sent it.

The secretary added, “It’s the driver of Mr. Qin of Lemeng.”

Han Shuang was stunned for a moment, then realized, “Go get it and thank him for me.”

  1. Someone please explain the subtext for me! I do not understand! 😭

Is this some sort of “I know what you did last night and I’ve got my eye on you” warning or something?
