[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 18.2 — Lie For Her

Once Qin Moling left, the two of them no longer had to pretend.

Feng Mai picked up the teacup. The tea sets in the ward were mediocre, and the tea he brewed was just passable.

She sipped tea leisurely and fiddled with the bouquet of roses she brought. “I don’t know what flowers you like, so I bought you a bouquet of red roses. You probably won’t be able to receive roses from Qin Moling so I thought I’ll give them to you and make up for your regrets.”

Every word was designed to hurt the heart.

Regardless of whether Jian Hang wanted to hear it or not, the fact was that it was impossible for Qin Moling to send her roses. He didn’t send her flowers on Valentine’s Day or on the day they received their marriage certificate.

Feng Mai said generously, “We are old classmates. From now on, I will send flowers to you on your birthday.”

“No need to spend money, I am allergic to pollen.” For the sake of face, Jian Hang told this lie for the first time, “Qin Moling knows that I am allergic to pollen, so he never sends flowers. During the holidays, he only gives houses and jewelry.”

So shameless.

“Really?” Feng Maila said, extending the word, the hint of ridicule obvious.

Before she could expose Jian Hang, Qin Moling opened the door and walked in, holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand, a pink bouquet with a few pink roses in it.

It was Secretary Gao who ordered the flowers. Before he came to the hospital, Secretary Gao asked him if he wanted to order a bouquet of flowers. He didn’t comment. Secretary Gao took his silence to mean that he agreed and left Qin Moling’s number when she ordered the flowers.

The courier boy couldn’t get into the ward, so he called Qin Moling to ask him to go to the lobby to sign for it.

Feng Mai’s eyes flashed with surprise. She didn’t expect Qin Moling to buy flowers for Jian Hang.

But she soon found her inner balance. What did Jian Hang just say? She said that Qin Moling knew that she was allergic to pollen, so instead of sending flowers, he gave her a house and jewelry.

She didn’t need to slap Jian Hang in the face now, Qin Moling slapped her in the face himself with this bouquet of flowers.

She wouldn’t do anything to drive a wedge between these husband and wife behind their backs, but how could she let it go when she had the opportunity to mock Jian Hang mercilessly in front of her face?

Feng Mai took a sip of tea and said with a smile, “You are not qualified as a husband. You don’t know Jian Hang at all. She is allergic to pollen. She said you knew.”

She pointed to the bouquet of roses on the bedside table, “I was about to take those down to deal with it, allow me to take yours down as well.”

Jian Hang stared at the bouquet of flowers in Qin Moling’s hand. What evil had she done in her previous life? The first time she lied to Feng Mai, he exposed her like this.

Qin Moling’s eyes wandered between Jian Hang and Feng Mai. In just two seconds, he understood what was going on.

He replied to Feng Mai, “Jian Hang is indeed allergic to pollen. This time she was hospitalized, so was also given desensitization treatment. I bought these flowers to test how effective the treatment was.”

Feng Mai: “…”

Jian Hang: “…”

Jian Hang never expected this reversal!

There was no point in staying any longer. Feng Mai finished her tea and found an excuse to leave. “I also made an appointment with someone tonight. When you are discharged from the hospital, our old classmates should get together.”

She came to visit today with a purpose in mind—seeing Jian Hang’s joke was just a very happy coincidence. She mainly wanted to talk to Jian Hang about whether she wanted to resign from Yinlin Capital. Jian Hang has experienced such a bad thing recently, and her body has been exhausted. She didn’t know if Jian Hang was thinking of resigning and changing careers.

Although she always went toe to toe with Jian Hang, she still admired her ability and wanted to take the opportunity to recruit Jian Hang to work for her family’s bank.

Who knew that Qin Moling would be in the ward today. There were some things that were not convenient to talk about in front of him.

Feng Mai said something human before leaving, “You have a good rest. I will contact you again by phone.”

Since Jian Hang has been ‘desensitized’, she did not take away the red roses.

Qin Moling was still polite and planned to send her to the door.

Feng Mai asked him to stay, “No need to see me off, you take care of Jian Hang.”

Jian Hang looked at Feng Mai’s back. When this woman was rude, she was really rude. When she acted like a human being, she was not so annoying.

Qin Moling took the red roses bought by Feng Mai and placed them aside, leaving only his bouquet on the bedside table. When Tan Feng came to visit a few days ago, the flowers he bought was placed in this position.

Jian Hang smelled the faint fragrance and said, “Thank you just now.” After a few seconds, she added, “I am quite vain. I even told Feng Mai that you give me houses and jewelries during the holidays. I’m telling you this in advance.”

After saying that, she turned her back to him, “I’ll take a nap.”

Qin Moling said nothing, and she didn’t know what his expression was.

When Jian Hang woke up, there was a faint light in the room. She thought it was a wall lamp Qin Moling left for her when he left the ward.

Turning over, she wanted to grab her phone to check what time it was.

She ended up being so surprised she forgot all about her phone.

There was someone on the sofa.

Qin Moling had his laptop open and was working.

“Why didn’t you leave?” Jian Hang said.

Qin Moling didn’t answer but instead asked, “Have you had enough sleep?”

Jian Hang turned on the light and looked at the time on her mobile phone: it was three-thirty in the morning.

She had fallen asleep around eight o’clock last night and slept for more than seven hours.

She put down her phone, “Aren’t you sleepy?”

Qin Moling said, “The jet lag is messing me up.”

Jian Hang was slightly startled. So he hadn’t come to the hospital these days because he was on a business trip abroad.

Qin Moling put down the mouse and looked up at her, “You’re not going to sleep anymore?”

“Yeah.”

Qin Moling stood up, walked to the tea cabinet and took out the coffee machine.

Not long after, the aroma of coffee spread in the ward crowding out the smell of disinfectant, which was particularly pleasant.

Jian Hang was suddenly craving for coffee.

“Can you make me an extra cup?” she asked.

“No,” Qin Moling rejected her without mercy.

Jian Hang simply lay back down and planned to brew it by herself later.

Qin Moling originally didn’t want to give her coffee, but then he felt soft-hearted and decided to give her just a little for the taste of it. He bent down and opened the tea cabinet, took out a clean porcelain cup, and poured some into it.

Qin Moling walked to the bed and placed the porcelain cup on the bedside table. The aroma of coffee filled her nostrils.

Jian Hang had her eyes closed. She didn’t know what he was doing, so she had to open them.

Qin Moling raised his chin to the porcelain cup and said, “Yours.” He took his own cup of coffee and sat back on the sofa.

“Thank you.” Jian Hang sat up happily, but when she saw the little bit of coffee at the bottom of the cup, she asked plaintively, “So little?” It wasn’t enough for her to take two sips.

Qin Moling was reading his laptop and replied without raising his head, “What’s going on with your own body, do you not know?”

Jian Hang persisted, “But that’s too little, not enough to drink.”

Hearing the loss in her tone, he paused for a few seconds and then promised her, “When you’re discharged from the hospital, I’ll make you a full cup.”

  1. Well, at least the misunderstandings don’t drag on back and forth forever. I still think this hurts the heart though. Finding you misunderstood adds embarrassment and guilt even if it adds happiness and does not change the fact that you were disappointed earlier.
