[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 15.2 — Fainting

In the past two weeks, Jian Hang had been so busy that it seemed her feet never touched the ground.

She hasn’t seen Qin Moling since eating congee in his apartment.

There has been no progress on the Wanyue Group’s merger and acquisition project. Mr. Gao never got another appointment with Zhong Yanfei, and Zhong Yanfei refused to give anyone any face.

As she expected, Zhong Yanfei heart was set on another agency.

Gao Yu was puzzled, “Zhong Yanfei said before that she wanted to cooperate with Yinlin if there was a chance.” Now that the opportunity came, Zhong Yanfei directly passed over Yinlin Capital.

Jian Hang said, “I went to Manhattan this time and asked some friends for help. Just because Zhong Yanfei was unwilling to cooperate with us does not mean that Wanyue Group itself is unwilling.”

She could also deal with the matter through roundabout means.

Gao Yu was reminded that if Wanyue’s board of directors—including Chairman Zhong himself—wanted to cooperate with Yinlin, then it would not matter if Zhong Yanfei disagreed. “I’m going to find two of their directors.”

Jian Hang hoped that she could successfully win the project this time. If they were directly eliminated during the initial relationship-building stage, it would be useless no matter how strong their team actually was.

After returning from a business trip, she has been working overtime endlessly and have had no time to go home. When she was tired, she just slept on the sofa in the office.

She had to work overtime again tonight; this was already her third all-nighter.

Another project was coming to an end and this was their busiest time.

… …

At one o’clock in the morning, Jian Hang took a break, messaging her forehead a little. She removed her makeup, washed her face with cold water, and stood by the window for a while, feeling quite clear-headed.

At the work stations outside, everyone was burning the midnight oil.

Jian Hang prepared a box of milk cartons in the office. She kept two cartons for herself and shared the rest with them. “Eat something and then work. When you’re tired, go to sleep.”

Their chairs could be disassembled into a simple single bed, which could then be used for sleeping.

Jian Hang was dividing the milk out when loud snores came from the workstation in the corner.

Everyone laughed; it was of course Lin Xiao who was snoring. He fell asleep leaning back on the chair, his head tilted, and his sleeping position looked as awkward as possible.

The others were really working overtime, but Lin Xiao was just here to make up the numbers.

Lin Xiao played two games before going to bed. He insisted on leaving a message for Little Olive every day: [On the twenty-second day of retreat, Little Olive, do you dare to say with good conscience that you are not using a second account?!]

He thought Little Olive was boring. He and Qin Xing really wanted to be friends with her, but she never wanted to.

In the dream, he was also playing a game and was killed by the opponent whose ID was ‘Big Olive’.

It must be Little Olive using a secondary account!

In a fit of anger, Lin Xiao woke up, his body tilted and he almost slipped off his chair. He hurriedly sat up and grabbed the armrest.

He didn’t know when this extra carton of milk got on his desk.

The next morning, Jian Hang was napping on the sofa in the office when she was woken up by spring thunder.

The first spring rain of this year had come, and the rain was quite heavy.

Jian Hang got up, washed up, had a simple breakfast, and became busy all over again.

There were three meetings in the morning, and there were dozens of emails in her mailbox waiting for her to reply. She also had to send a copy of the information to the Financial Building before two o’clock in the afternoon, and then communicate on the details with the other party.

A call came in on the mobile phone, and Jian Hang answered it.

The voice on the other end of the phone was urgent, “Olive, excuse me, please read the email I sent last night. The client is waiting for my reply.”

Jian Hang put her fingers between her eyebrows and said, “Okay, I’ll get back to you in half an hour at most.”

As soon as she put down her cell phone, the landline on the table rang.

“Boss, please check the email I sent. I’m waiting for your opinion.”

“I can’t spare time this morning, so I’ll read it at noon.” Jian Hang casually wrote down in the memo pad what time she needed to reply to someone’s email. Usually when they call her to urge her to reply, it was extremely urgent.

Her time at noon today was also full, so she had to forego her meal in order to read the email. There were several pages of information. Jian Hang read them one by one, and wrote more than half a page of opinions after reading them.

[Received, thank you, boss.]

Jian Hang had just gone to pour herself a glass of water when the secretary knocked on the door and asked her what to eat.

“I have no appetite. Just make me some coffee.”

A cup of coffee really saved her half a life.

It was still raining outside and the road was more congested than usual, so Jian Hang went to the Financial Building half an hour early.

The driver drove her over, and she closed her eyes in the car for twenty minutes. Passing by Lemeng Building on the way, she thought for a moment that she hadn’t seen Qin Moling for more than two weeks.

She hadn’t had time to think about him too much when another call from work came in…

“Boss, it’s me,” Lin Xiao called her from the landline, his voice was weak.

“What’s up?”

Lin Xiao touched his nose and said, “There are a few numbers wrong.”

Jian Hang didn’t scold him, “We’ll talk about it when I get back.”

When they arrived at the Financial Building, the driver pulled over. Jian Hang opened an umbrella and hurried down.

.. …

When communicating details with clients, she didn’t feel at all tired and was even in high spirits.

After she came out of the client’s office and entered the elevator, she felt a little light-headed. She must be hungry after skipping lunch.

She needed to remember to eat dinner on time, then go home and have a good sleep.

With this thought in mind, Jian Hang followed the crowd out of the elevator when it stopped on the ground floor. After taking a few steps, her feet felt like she was stepping on cotton. She stretched out her hand to hold onto something, but caught nothing but air.

Suddenly, everything went dark.

… …

At this time, Qin Moling, Secretary Gao, and the rest of his party was at the airport and had just passed customs.

Qin Moling rested in the VIP lounge and asked Secretary Gao to pour him a glass of warm water. After drinking half the glass, he still felt vaguely uneasy.

Maybe it was because he had to catch a flight and didn’t take a nap at noon, he thought.

  1. An office chair that can be converted into a bed for office naps seems awesome, until you realize it’s mainly so people can work all nighters. 🥲

Oof, she’s going to ruin her body. I cant do that. Sorry. I cant overtime till I collapse, as much as I wish I had that work ethic, sorry no. I can ruin my body in other ways though!
