[7YrSecretLove] Chapter 36.3 – Getting A Marriage Certificate

Before Jiang Shenghe arrived, she finished her makeup and found a dress that he had never seen before and put it on. This was the only new dress in her closet.

The two most extravagant purchases she made in recent time was an oil painting and a dress.

By the time she finished fixing hair, he still hadn’t arrived yet.

Luo Qi remembered that there were no men’s slippers at home, so she went downstairs. There was a small supermarket less than 200 meters away. They carried slippers—of average quality and quite cheap.

She picked a relatively expensive pair.

After coming out of the store, a familiar black car was slowly driving over and stopped in front of her.

“Chief Jiang.” She didn’t want to think about matters so much now, so she just said things as she pleased. Her head already hurt from overthinking.

Jiang Shenghe got out of the car and asked, “What did you buy?”

Luo Qi said nothing and instead showed him the plastic bag.

Like her, Jiang Shenghe’s emotions had been all over the place all night long. His heart finally settled in place when he saw the men’s slippers in her hand.

“Give it to me.” He took the bag.

The two walked side by side without saying anything.

The air after the previous night’s rain was especially fresh, and Luo Qi took a deep breath.

Jiang Shenghe saw what her house looked like from the doorway yesterday. The dining room and living room were only about ten square meters altogether. He changed his shoes to the newly bought slippers and entered.

Unexpectedly, there was a piano in the small living room.

“Do you like playing the piano?”

“It’s not mine. Chu Lin put it there. She comes over to play sometimes so she doesn’t have to miss her piano practice.”

Luo Qi put breakfast on the coffee table. She used the original small dining table as a desk to work, and she ate on the small coffee table during the day.

“Chief Jiang, you can sit wherever you like.”

After saying that, she realized that she was using the polite ‘you’ again. After two seconds, she said again, “Chief Jiang, you can sit wherever you like.”

There was only a two-seater sofa in the house. If he sat down where she sat down to eat, he would be sitting right next to her.

Jiang Shenghe chose the piano stool instead. He didn’t expect that she would put the painting in such a conspicuous place. He stared at the oil painting for a few seconds and was brought back from his thoughts by Luo Qi’s voice.

“Chief Jiang, have you eaten?”

Luo Qi had opened the lunch box. The portion was enough for two people, so she asked.

“Already ate. I brought them all for you.”

There were also piano scores on the music stand. Jiang Shenghe half stood up and moved the piano stool back, adjusting things so he could sit down and play the piano.

When he was a child, he was forced to learn the piano. There was a period of time when he was rebellious and unwilling to practice, so his mother didn’t push him anymore. After they stopped forcing him, he became willing to learn.

He hasn’t played since he went to school abroad.

Luo Qi raised her head slightly and glanced at him. She was probably the best-paid employee in the world. The big boss personally delivered her breakfast and also played piano accompaniment.

His playing level was average even among amateurs, but that didn’t stop her from finding it pleasant to listen to.

Luo Qi hadn’t finished breakfast yet. Jiang Shenghe finished playing a song and put the piano stool back in place, “I’m going to the company.”

Just as she was about to stand up, he pressed her shoulders back and said, “I’m not your boss on weekends, so there’s no need to see me off.”

He closed the door and left, and Luo Qi breathed a sigh of relief.

He had the same sense of propriety towards her now as before he confessed and would not make her uncomfortable in any way. It was her own fault that she had not yet found a balance on how to get along with him.

Although Jiang Shenghe went to the company, his thoughts were elsewhere.

Come noon, he had no idea what he had been up to all morning.

What a waste of time that was.

During lunch break, he received a call from his elder in Shanghai.

Jiang Shenghe thought that Luo Zhiqiu’s company had encountered another difficult problem, “Is Luo Qi’s father in trouble again?”

“His company is not bad, the funds have kept up, and it can survive no matter how difficult it is.”

The elder actually called him about Dongbo Medical, “Didn’t you want to acquire it? Now is a good time to do it.”

Jiang Shenghe asked, “Is there an emergency over at Pei Shixiao?”

“That’s right. Their company’s board of directors will have an election next month, and Li Jin is behind Dongbo Medical.”

Jiang Shenghe frowned and finally remembered that Li Jin was Pei Shixiao’s mother. He was not interested in the affairs of Pei Shixiao’s family at all, and he never paid attention to the dynamics of their company.

“Go on.”

“Recently, Li Jin has not been thinking about Dongbo Medical at all. She is very ambitious and has her eyes on something else. So now you can pursue the acquisition.”

“I asked Li Rui to make arrangements last week.”

The elder smiled, “It seems that you have always been unhappy with Pei Shixiao.”

Every time he talked to Jiang Shenghe, he would inevitably talk about Luo Qi.

“You going to come visit now or wait until I’m a hundred?”

Jiang Shenghe could hear the teasing in the words and smiled, “It’s not impossible.”

He stopped joking and said, “Luo Qi and I will come visit you soon.”

“Don’t push this back and make excuses not to come. I’ve already prepared the red envelope.”

After ending the call, Jiang Shenghe no longer felt sleepy. He washed his face with cold water but had to drink another cup of coffee before he felt temporarily freed from the dazed joy of getting a certificate with Luo Qi.

Although he had given Li Rui instructions to acquire Dongbo Medical, it was still unknown how long it would take and whether the cost would be too high.

After careful consideration, he called He Wancheng.

He’s gotten familiar with He Wancheng, and now they don’t even have to make small talk.

“There is a deal, I don’t know if Director He is interested in it.”

“Tell me.”

“The board of directors of Pei Shixiao’s company will have an election next month. You should talk to Li Jin and help her obtain control of the company, as well as deal with the aftermath. The condition for helping her is to sell Dongbo Medical to me.”

He gave He Wancheng the benefit, “If anything happens to He Xu in the future, please come to me at any time.”

This nephew was in charge of the company matters in Beijing. If he has Jiang Shenghe’s connections, he would be like a duck in water.

He Wancheng said with a smile, “He Xu doesn’t have a girlfriend yet, help him keep an eye out for one.”

Cooperation achieved.
