[7YrSecretLove] Chapter 29.1 — Reveal The Reason for Break-up

Jiang Shenghe’s words ‘heart willing, love willing’1 hit Pei Shixiao violently, triggering unwillingness and possessiveness in his bones. Now that he has made this matter clear, Pei Shixiao couldn’t afford to make any excuses or any mistakes.

The two looked at each other silently for a moment, their swords at war.

Each wished they could destroy the other.

People passing by glanced at them now and then, as if wondering what they were talking about.

Pei Shixiao took out his cigarette case and lit one.

Jiang Shenghe also had a cigarette in his hand. He Wancheng had given it to him just now, but he didn’t smoke it.

Pei Shixiao asked, “Are you trying to get between me and Luo Qi?”

“Yes,” Jiang Shenghe said. “So what?”

Impatience overwhelmed Pei Shixiao.

Pei Shixiao understood Luo Qi very well. She was sober and self-aware, and she would not willingly get involved with her boss, not to mention that this boss was the third son of the Jiang family.

“Luo Qi won’t accept you, you have no chance.”

Jiang Shenghe suddenly smiled and said, “I don’t know if I have a chance, but you are definitely out of luck.”

Pei Shixiao was not afraid of threats, and he himself knew how to threaten people. “Luo Qi doesn’t know yet that you are interested in her, right? What do you think she will do if she finds out?”

“I’m actually thinking how to let Luo Qi know about my feelings.” Jiang Shenghe twirled the cigarette in his hand, “If you want to make a move, I will give you this chance.

“And by the way, you can also tell Luo Qi that seven years ago, in Yuanwei Capital, I sent a reply to her proposed project plan, but she never received it. It took me too long to respond to her because there were too many things that needed to be refined, and I couldn’t make the adjustments in time. But the plan was good, and some of the ideas were particularly novel. It was only that under prevailing conditions at the time, it was difficult to implement.

“But I couldn’t bear to have her expectations fail. It took me seven years but now we have Yuanwei Medical Care that she first dreamed of.”

Pei Shixiao had just put the cigarette in his mouth when he heard the last word. He suddenly raised his head, his pupils shrank, and his confusion was laced with panic.

Jiang Shenghe answered his unspoken doubts, “You guessed it right: I already liked her seven years ago. Do you think I will give you another chance?”

During the rainy season in Suzhou City, rain would come as soon as it would. While the two men were crossing words, the rain began to fall.

The two took a few steps back towards shelter, the building barely blocking the rain.

“In the past six years, I have wanted to tear you apart more than once. You didn’t cherish the opportunity I gave you.”

Jiang Shenghe was about to leave, but just as he turned, he saw Luo Qi trotting over under an umbrella, another one in her hand.

Luo Qi came to deliver an umbrella to her boss. She had been sitting restless in the car. She couldn’t begin to guess what Pei Shixiao was saying to her boss, but nine times out of ten, it would be something to do with her.

Did he ask her boss to take care of her?

Or did he plan to exchange benefits, want to cooperate with the boss and use official business channels to contact her?

The boss had always been strong and only wanted others to follow his lead. He didn’t like people asking him to do anything—even if that person was his father or mother, there would be no exception.

No matter what Pei Shixiao said to her boss, it wouldn’t be something the boss would like to hear.

Pei Shixiao, don’t make things awkward and bring her down!

Luo Qi has worked by the boss’s side for nine months. Although she had been under great pressure when facing him and she felt like she was walking on thin ice every day, except for the high intensity at work, she has never had to deal with trivial matters after work, and she never had to deal with the boss’s personal life.

This kind of boss who was measured in dealing with subordinates of the opposite sex was rare to find, and she was unwilling to let Pei Shixiao get tangled in her work.

“Chief Jiang.” Luo Qi handed the umbrella to Jiang Shenghe without even glancing at Pei Shixiao.

Jiang Shenghe opened the umbrella and said, “You won’t listen even if I tell you not to get out of the car, hmm?”

Luo Qi: “…”

The reproachful tone sounded like something a boss would say, but also… not.

She couldn’t exactly say what was different.

Seeing that the boss’ jaw was tense and he was obviously displeased, it seemed that Pei Shixiao had offended him.

The driver backed up the car, and they didn’t walk far before the car had already reached them. The two closed their umbrellas and got into the car.

Luo Qi cautiously probed, “Pei Shixiao looked for you…”

Halfway through her question, Jiang Shenghe interrupted, “Other people’s affairs have nothing to do with you.”

Luo Qi breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed it had nothing to do with her.

Jiang Shenghe’s shirt sleeves were wet. He used a towel to soak up the water and asked, “Does Pei Shixiao often bother you?”

Luo Qi had been leaning back in the seat and subconsciously straightened her back at this question. After sitting up straight, she answered, “I haven’t seen him since October last year. This is the first time I saw him today.”

“This will affect your work.”

“… Sorry Chief Jiang, I will find a way to solve it.”

Jiang Shenghe looked at her and said, “What can you do? How can you make sure you can solve in it one go?”

Luo Qi couldn’t resist the aggressive look in the boss’ eyes and lowered her gaze. His casual tone reminded her of the time he asked the vice president at the executive meeting, ‘What can you do? Are you sure this can be solved? What should I do if this happens again?’

His tone was calm, but she felt a sense of oppression.

Luo Qi actually had little choice in this matter. When meeting Pei Shixiao by chance in a public place, she couldn’t just ignore everything and make a big fuss on the spot. In addition to her own reputation, she also represented the image of the Yuanwei President’s Office.

Jiang Shenghe folded the towel and said, “I’ll give you a shield.”

“What shield?”

“Me. Next time he comes to you, you say you are with me. That will end matters once and for all.”

“…”

  1. Good he told PSX that he messed up his own fortune and he had used up all the opportunities given to him first. JSH is an upright person, not like Cui Peng. So it’s his own stupidity that he lost his GF just for a short play with a scheming girl. Now JSH wouldn’t take a step back anymore cos PSX i’s the one who set her free himself.

  2. Hahahaha..cclever offer. Let’s see how she answers that.

  3. When Pei Shixiao was cheating on her, he didn’t seem to have any unwillingness or possessiveness for her, so he clearly doesn’t have the right to have such feelings for her now. I just absolutely love that Jiang Shenghe honestly told him he’s loved Luo Qi all this time and he would do anything to get her, and that he’d furthermore prevent Pei Shixiao from getting another chance with her. That last line from Jiang Shenghe to Luo Qi, though, is definitely his dearest wish, even if it’s a temporary measure. I hope she agrees, but I’m pretty sure she’ll reject it, lol.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
