[7YrSecretLove] Chapter 27.2 — She’s The One I’ve Liked For Six Years

Half an hour later, Jiang Shenghe’s car drove into the underground parking lot of the Grand Theater.

The two cars arrived at about the same time, and a group of six people took the elevator upstairs.

The elevator stopped at the first floor. Jiang Shenghe got off last; Luo Qi was right in front of him. When she stepped out of the elevator, he pressed the door button and instinctively blocked the door for her with his other hand. Once she has stepped out, he casually put his hands down and strode out immediately.

Jiang Shenghe didn’t look for his mother but went directly to the ticket gate. He and five other people queued up to go in. The driver was the oldest among them, and the seat nearest the aisle was given to him.

Luo Qi and Li Rui walked ahead in front.

Jiang Shenghe called her, “Luo Qi.”

“Chief Jiang, what is it?” Luo Qi replied.

“Inform Manager Li and the others that we’ll have a meal after the concert. Chu Lin will also be there.”

“Alright.” Luo Qi could already imagine how excited Li Rui would be for a chance to have dinner with her favorite pianist, and maybe even get her autograph.

… …

Once the show started, Luo Qi would fully realize that her seat was next to the boss’. But right now, she wasn’t worried about the seat issue. All her attention was on the relationship between the boss and Chu Lin.

The boss chose the time when Chu Lin was holding a concert to come to Suzhou on a business trip and invited all of them to come and support her. Chu Lin said on a variety show once that one of the things she liked the most was to play the piano on the beach.

To play it for someone she liked.

When the boss was on a business trip to Haicheng, it was clear he had a special liking for the beach. He ate dinner on the beach, watched movies on the beach, and even played cards on the beach.

Then, the woman in the boss’s heart could most likely be Chu Lin.

Being in a relationship with a man like the boss would make any woman feel very secure. He has a strong sense of boundaries and never mixes public and private matters. Despite this, she didn’t know what the reason was, but Chu Lin and her boss still ended up not being together.

Luo Qi put a stop to her thoughts and looked at the time on her phone. There were still three minutes left before the concert started. She leaned slightly towards Xiao Jiang’s side, keeping an appropriate distance from the boss.

“Chief Jiang, do you want your eyeglasses?” Luo Qi took out the glasses case from her bag.

He would see Chu Lin better if he wore his glasses.

Jiang Shenghe tilted his head and asked her, “Why would I need glasses?”

Luo Qi: “…”

Ah! She’s crossed a line. She remembered that Secretary Ju had specifically told her before she took up this job not to be curious about the boss’s personal feelings and not to test him.

She just asked her boss if he wanted to wear eyeglasses, which was actually a subconscious test. She just didn’t realize it herself before.

She could ask her boss if he needed glasses while at work, but in private, it would be troublesome—like she was spying on her boss’ secrets.

Even if she knew the boss’ secret, she should have turned a blind eye or not listened to it at all.

Yeah, Luo Qi, why would the boss need his glasses in this situation?

He wouldn’t need it to watch someone playing the piano; he only needed to listen.

“I’m sorry, Chief Jiang.” Luo Qi took the offered eyeglass case back.

This was the first time she has made a mistake since she joined his office, and it wasn’t even related to her work.

Jiang Shenghe didn’t expect to hear her apology; he simply asked her what he would want the eyeglasses for. He wanted to express that he didn’t need to see the person on the stage clearly, so there was no need to wear them.

He didn’t know what was going on in her brain that she felt she had to apologize to him.

The concert was about to start. There was no more time to say anything, so he stretched out his hand and said, “Give it to me.”

Luo Qi: “…”

It seemed that the boss was also full of duplicity.

… …

There was only one minute left to start, and the whole audience was quiet.

Liang Zhen was sitting in the row behind her son. She thought he had invited friends from Suzhou City, but unexpectedly he brought Li Rui—a vice president of the Yuanwei Group—as well as the driver and even the bodyguard.

The girl sitting next to her son, however, instantly surpassed Chu Lin in height and appearance. Liang  Zhen didn’t pay much attention to the entertainment industry, so she didn’t know which young star she was.

Still, she was secretly happy at the moment, thinking that her son really came to support her, even though this was nothing more than a show of support.

When Old Chu saw Liang Zhen pressing fingers to her forehead, he asked with concern, “What’s going on?”

They would have dinner together later, and she couldn’t hide this kind of thing. Liang Zhen could only tell the truth about who her son had invited to the concert, and she specifically mentioned the beautiful star sitting beside him.

Old Chu had also seen her. He always thought that his daughter’s temperament was outstanding enough and that she would not lose anything if she appeared in a show with celebrities and stars. However, it seemed that there really was someone who could eclipse his daughter. The girl Jiang Shenghe brought was several centimeters taller than Chu Lin and her aura was completely different.

He comforted Liang Zhen, “It is already great that Shenghe could come. It’s the same with my daughter. The result could have been even more outrageous. They have always rejected blind dates before. Don’t expect too much. We can only give it up once the two finally meet.”

… …

When the time came, Chu Lin stepped onto the stage.

The concert hall applauded warmly.

Luo Qi looked at the stage. Chu Lin bowed to the audience and sat elegantly in front of the piano. She didn’t pay attention to where Jiang Shenghe was sitting, and she didn’t seem to care about him at all.

Two and a half hours passed, and Chu Lin’s entire attention was focused on the piano, never once looking off the stage.

When the applause started again at the end of the show, Luo Qi noticed that the boss’ eyeglass case had been in his hand the entire time and had not been opened at all.

She got it wrong. He wasn’t not telling the truth: he really didn’t want to wear it! But because she offered it to him, he still took it from her even though he didn’t need it.

One response to “[7YrSecretLove] Chapter 27.2 — She’s The One I’ve Liked For Six Years”

  1. Such a huge misunderstanding about Jiang Shenghe’s unrequited love, lol. He needs to somehow rectify this misunderstanding without being deliberate, but I wonder how he’ll even learn of it. As for Luo Qi, it’s good she’s paying more attention to him, especially when it’s not related to work. It shows that she’s beginning to care about him or is at least concerned and/or curious about him outside of work.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
