[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 23.2 — Day 7 (Rounding Up, They’re Family!)

Accompanied by Zhou Shengyan, Cheng Liu arrived at the furniture store.

As Zhou Shengyan said, the furniture of this brand under Yayue was indeed specially designed for couples, and everything could be found in pairs.

Cheng Liu’s eyes were dazzled. She thought it looked good as long as it was for a couple.

“If President Cheng is unsure, do you wish to ask your boyfriend?” Zhou Shengyan asked tentatively. Information about Cheng Liu’s private life has been extremely difficult to find, and she was basically a blank slate.

“I’ll make my own choice first,” Cheng Lui  replied. Although she and her boyfriend haven’t exactly gotten together yet, Cheng Liu didn’t want to deny it.

The bed should be big enough for at least two people to lie down on it together and enough for them to roll around twice. Recliners and stools should also be placed in pairs.

Let’s not forget, the sofa needed to be wide and long too!

Based on the information she has gathered from various business partners over the years—from their wealth of personal experience, no less!—when she is kicked out of the marital bedroom in the future, the sofa would be her refuge, and so it must be as comfortable as possible.

Cheng Liu selected a bunch of furniture and finally hired a moving truck to take all of it to the villa.

After she said goodbye to Zhou Shengyan, she followed the moving truck and headed to her new home.

Ji Mushan knew that Ji Chaozhou didn’t like staying at the Ji family’s house, but he thought it would be alright if it was only for one night. But when he woke up the next day, he saw Ji Chaozhou had dark circles under his eyes, and Ju Mishan knew that his son didn’t sleep well.

And so, early in the morning, he accompanied Ji Chaozhou to the Housing Authority to go through the villa handover procedures with Director Li.

Yun Se also came—otherwise Ji Chaozhou would not have agreed so easily to let Ji Mushan do this for him.

“Only one?” Ji Mushan asked Director Li. There were two duplex villas sharing a wall. He wanted to buy both of them. This way Chaozhou could enjoy better privacy.

“Villa No. 6 next door was sold yesterday afternoon.” Li Dong scratched his head, “President Ji, you only said you wanted to buy a villa, but you didn’t say you wanted both.”

Yun Se, sitting in her wheelchair, turned and patted Ji Chaozhou’s hand, “I’ve been to a duplex villa in that community once, and one is fine.”

If they were to look for a villa that only had two floors from the ground in the middle of the city, then the only place with an exceptional environment would be in this community.

The location was good, the space was large, and it was popular.

Yun Se hoped that her nephew could live there.

“Yeah,” Ji Chaozhou responded.

“You don’t have to worry about the noise,” Director Li said with confidence. “Your neighbor often goes on business trips and is a workaholic. You probably won’t see anyone for ten days or more. She bought my other villa just to try out living in a house with a courtyard.”

Director Li laughed a little. He wanted to say more but when he saw the faces of the father and son, he swallowed back the words ‘President Ji also knows her’.

This father and son were too, too cold.

Cheng Liu was much better, Director Li sighed in his heart. With her, he can joke about anything.

There was no one living in Director Li’s two villas. So after submitting all the requirements, he gave them all the keys and passwords.

“Chaozhou, let’s go take a look,” Yun Se said after they came out. “If there’s anything you need to buy, just have someone order it.”

“Okay.” Ji Chaozhou pushed her wheelchair to the car and lifted Yun Se in. He put the wheelchair away and then got into the car.

Yun Se kept her spirits up and wanted to chat more with Ji Chaozhou. She suddenly remembered something, “Where is the bodyguard who accompanied you that day?”

Ji Chaozhou paused and said, “She—”

“I fired that bodyguard.” Ji Mushan, sitting in front, suddenly interrupted.

This matter was too outrageous to explain, so Ji Mushan simply covered it up this way. Cheng Liu wouldn’t know what he said anyway.

“She didn’t do well?” Yun Se frowned, “It’s okay to resign.”

… …

At this moment, Bodyguard Cheng, who had been ‘fired’, was watching the furniture she selected herself being moved in, one piece at a time.

She walked around the courtyard and was very satisfied with the distance between the two villas.

They were only separated by a wall.

Rounding it up, they were a family!

… …

Just as the moving truck left, Ji Chaozhou got out of the car. Cheng Liu was standing on the balcony on the second floor of her villa. When she saw him, she instinctively stepped back and slipped back inside the house.

If her boyfriend… no. If Ji Chaozhou saw her standing next door and refused to live here anymore, she would definitely be at a loss.

It was better to wait until everything was settled and he already moved in—then she would pretend to meet him by coincidence.

… …

Ji Chaozhou carried Aunt Yun down from the car. He looked up and saw a fleeting figure on the balcony next door.

“The neighbor seems to have also moved in,” Yun Se said, looking down at the wheel marks on the ground.

Ji Mushan walked beside the two of them, “Shall we go in and take a look? See what’s missing?”

Ji Chaozhou withdrew his gaze from the balcony and pushed Yun Se’s wheelchair inside.

The villa had always been taken cared of and was not messy at all. There was a neat lawn in the front yard, but there was not much furniture inside.

This villa only had two floors above ground, but the stairs to the second floor were hollow and suspended in the middle of the living room.

“Chaozhou, should I have someone redo the stairs first tomorrow?” Ji Mushan asked his son after taking a look around.

“No need.” Ji Chaozhou refused and said with lowered eyes, “I want to move here today.”

There was a bedroom on the first floor, and he didn’t need much space or have too many things.

Ji Mushan wanted to say something else, but Yun Se suddenly coughed and said, “Then your dad and I will go back first. I will have someone bring you clean quilts later.”

“… Okay,” Ji Chaozhou agreed.

Yun Se raised her head and smiled at her nephew, “You stay here for now and see what else you need.”

Ji Mushan walked behind Yun Se’s wheelchair and pushed her out.

When they arrived at the door, the smile on Yun Se’s face gradually fell, “You… you still want to take Chaozhou back to live in that house?”

Ji Mushan opened his mouth, but he did not say that it was Chaozhou who took the initiative to return to Ji’s house yesterday.

“I won’t live for much longer.” Yun Se looked down at her body that grew thinner with each passing day, “I don’t want Chaozhou to have no relatives to rely on in the world.

“Brother-in-law,” Yun Se smoothed the folds of the qipao on her legs and said softly and coldly, “You should feel sorry towards Chaozhou.”

“I know.” Ji Mushan’s face looked a little lonely and a little guilty, and he couldn’t hide it.

The two got into the car and soon disappeared from in front of the villa.

… …

Cheng Liu—who had been about to leave quietly—walked out from where she hid behind the side wall. She stood there quietly for a while, looked back at the villa next door for a moment, and finally walked back inside her villa.

Rather than go back to her apartment, she will spend the night here with him next door.

However, Cheng Liu didn’t expect that she would be discovered by Ji Chaozhou before it even got dark.

At that time, she was replying to the company email on her mobile phone when a WeChat message from ‘Boyfriend’ popped up: [Are you next door?]

Young President Cheng, who could remain unfazed in a great many situations, suddenly dropped her cell phone.

T/N: Rounding it up, they were a family! I almost sprayed my laptop with coffee when I read this 😂🤣😅

I am belatedly including a photo of what a ‘duplex villa’ looks like. And also, suspended stairs. I can’t imagine how Ji Chaozhou would feel going up one.

  1. Well, they did say that coincidences are someone’s deliberate actions.

  2. Does this count as stalking 🤣
