[MythicalBeastCafeteria] Chapter 21.3 — Mount Everest Shaved Ice Is Trending

Just as they were talking, there was a sudden noise at the doors of the Eighth Cafeteria. They looked up and saw that Zhang Jing from the relevant department had arrived, along with his men.

Luo Huai’an asked in surprise, “Captain Zhang, why are you here?”

Zhang Jing nodded to her and said, “I’m following orders from my superiors to come and see how the wenyao in your custody are doing.”

Because there were 20 B-level supernatural creatures here, the superiors of the relevant department were worried that something might happen here, so they arranged for Zhang Jing to come for regular inspections.

Zhang Jing originally thought that Luo Huai’an’s idea of making supernatural creatures work was a fantasy. After all, these supernatural creatures were free by nature and were difficult to discipline.

To his surprise, he discovered during his inspection that the wenyao were surprisingly well-behaved. The little Fish were expertly serving food to the students—although their arithmetic skills were really a bit slow. Meanwhile, the little Fish in the kitchen were furiously preparing food. The wenyao seemed to be adapting well to the environment.

Moreover, there was no sign that their minds were being manipulated by human means.

This kind of harmonious coexistence between humans and supernatural beasts was what the relevant departments most wanted to see.

Zhang Jing then breathed a sigh of relief and cast an approving look at Luo Huai’an. “I didn’t expect that you could make the wenyao so obedient. After seeing this, my superiors and I can rest assured.”

Luo Huai’an nodded when she heard this, “Don’t worry, the cafeteria I run is very formal. We often pay attention to the mental health development of our employees and pay taxes legally. It is a positive and good Cafeteria.”

Zhang Jing: “…” There’s no need to be so serious.

Big Fish: “…” What kind of joke is this!

Zhang Jing was a little confused by what she said and was surprised to find that this master had a really positive outlook.

But this was also a good thing, as he just happened to have something he wanted to ask Luo Huai’an to help with.

Just as he was about to speak, Big Fish strode over.

The Fish was overjoyed and said, “Sir, I want to go back to jail. Please take me back quickly.”

He looked at Zhang Jing as if he was looking at his last lifeline. I  would never work again, not in my entire life. I just want to muddle through.

The only problem was that my wife and children didn’t want to go with me. But since my wife and children liked this place so much, then just let them stay here.

As for me, I am going to live a good life in prison and no one can stop me!

Big Fish thought that Zhang Jing would agree immediately, but things turned out to be beyond his expectations.

Zhang Jing shook his head slowly and said firmly, “You can’t go back now. There are not enough places in the prison.”

Big Fish: “???”

“How is that possible?” Big Fish asked, at a loss.

Zhang Jing frankly told the truth, “There are frequent incidents of supernatural beings causing chaos outside right now, and the cells we have are full. The next batch of cells are still being constructed.”

Big Fish was bewildered, “So going to live in prison is really difficult now?”

“That’s right,” Zhang Jing nodded.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to take Big Fish back, but there were really not enough cells, and there was no place to hold him.

After all, these supernatural creatures had cultivation skills, and the cells that could hold them were not ordinary cells. These cells required a lot of special materials to construct.

And more importantly, there were often supernatural creatures like Big Fish who have already served their sentences and were duly released, but still insisted on coming back.

They deliberately committed crimes again and were as happy to see the people who came to arrest them as if they were seeing their own family.

After returning to prison, they would even say, “Life outside is so hard. In prison, there’s food to eat, and the inmates are nice to talk to. I love it here.”

Among this group of supernatural creatures, some were B-level beasts like Big Fish, as well as some forest spirits with much less cultivation. They were illiterate, free-spirited, disliked labor, and were unable to adapt to modern life.

They constantly harassed the relevant departments, seemingly treating the prison like their second home. These supernatural creatures did nothing productive, just ate for free in prison all day, and made all sorts of demands.

The leaders of the relevant departments did not expect such a situation to happen and were all very troubled by the situation.

How did these supernatural creatures manage to take advantage of them?

But, of course, they could not enforce the law violently. If they did, it would be easy to damage the diplomacy between the two races if it was exposed.

Zhang Jing’s superiors even thought that if there were more people like Luo Huai’an who could arrange work for supernatural creatures, then it would be great to create more job programs for those in prison.

However, this was unrealistic; after all, there were too few people who could subdue monsters like Luo Huai’an.

Zhang Jing told Luo Huai’an about the current situation in the prisons of the relevant departments.

Luo Huai’an seemed to be thinking about something, with a strange expectation in her eyes. “If the relevant departments still have supernatural creatures who need to be reformed, please feel free to consider our cafeteria. I will definitely reform them well.”

Zhang Jing was delighted to hear this and took note of her words. “I understand what you mean. I’ll discuss this with my superiors when I get back. By the way, I’m not only here today to check on the wenyao—I have something else I’d like to ask your help with.”
