[ILivestreamDivination] Chapter 72.5 — Their Date At The Ferris Wheel

At this moment, a familiar piercing pain came over him, as if someone had grabbed his heart and was stirring it inside his chest.

He raised his hands to cover his chest, his face turning pale; he pressed his hands on the seat, trying hard not to fall down.

It became clear to him that the time for the spell to end was near.

His girlfriend next to him was shocked and quickly threw the red velvet box in her hand onto the seat. She supported him and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Wei Haichen waved his hand, a handsome smile appearing on his pale face.

“I performed a magic trick for you. I brought a person back to life. Don’t be afraid. And don’t be sad for me if you hear any news later.”

“What are you saying? I don’t understand.”

His girlfriend was stunned. Then she caught a glimpse of a bloody handprint on his white sweatshirt. She raised her hand and saw that her left hand was covered in blood.

It was this left hand that been holding the red velvet box earlier.

She looked back to the red velvet box she had just thrown on the seat. It was bright red and beautiful. The surface was clean, but there were a few bloodstains on the base.

The girlfriend looked at her bloody left hand with a stunned expression, “You— You—“

Wei Haichen was upset when he saw that she was frightened by his blood, “Sorry, I didn’t notice the blood on the base when I first took it out.”

He knew he couldn’t hide it anymore, so he forced a smile and said, “I can testify that the first legend about the Ferris wheel is fake. We kissed at the highest point, but we can’t keep going together.”

“But the second legend could be true. After I die, you must live a happy life.”

His heart ached more and more, almost to the point of numbness. The yin qi in his soul was gradually being absorbed by the spell embedded in his heart, and his once solid body gradually became illusory.

Because he had made a contract with that yin envoy, the price for making him visible today was—his soul would be torn apart.

He didn’t care.

Reincarnation and the death of his soul both meant the loss of memory, so there seemed to be no difference.

Why not take this opportunity to say goodbye to his girlfriend?

After hearing this, his girlfriend was stunned for a long time, as if she had figured something out. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and countless words were on her tongue, but she didn’t know where to start.

She could only hug her boyfriend, whose figure was becoming increasingly unreal, and sob softly.

“You… Why are you so stupid…”

Wei Haichen’s vitality was continuously being sucked away by the spell in his heart, but he ignored the pain and raised his hand to touch his girlfriend’s hair, which was as soft and silky as ever.

“If I didn’t appear here, I’ll be breaking my promise, and you’ll definitely scold me to death.”

His girlfriend cried uncontrollably, her voice choked with sobs.

Their carriage got lower and lower, gradually reaching the lowest point, and the rotation was over.

The carriage returned to its original slot and the door opened automatically.

Wei Haichen looked outside the door with a sense of awareness. An Rugu, dressed in an impressive yin envoy costume, was waiting for him outside the door. She was a true god of death.

“You should get married. Find a new boyfriend and forget about me as soon as possible,” Wei Haichen whispered in his girlfriend’s ear.

Then he took a step and walked out of the carriage.

With each second, his body gradually changed from semi-transparent to fully transparent, until almost gone.

He walked up to An Rugu, but before he could say anything, his hollow heart was pierced with pain.

The agony made him bend over involuntarily, and he was at a loss for a moment.

He was about to lose his soul, why did this spell still want to torture him?

Then, the pain slowly subsided. He looked down and saw that his soul, which was about to disappear, was no longer transparent.

His eyes lit up, with a mixture of surprise and confusion in his heart. He raised his eyes to look at An Rugu and saw that she was holding a strand of black silk thread in her hand.

Looking closely, one could see densely packed runes written on the silk thread.

He was stunned for a moment, “Master Yin Envoy, this is something your colleague planted in me, why did you pull it out?”

He should be scared to death because of this thing.

“There is nothing written in my Rulebook for Yin Envoys about such matters.”

When things go wrong, there must be a yaoguai1. If this was something that could be ruined by her, then she would be right in her guess.

An Rugu recited the Golden Light Mantra and dazzling golden light pierced towards the black silk thread.

The black silk thread struggled for a while like a worm, but it was no match for the golden light and, finally, it turned into wisps of smoke that were then swallowed by the golden light.

Wei Haichen suddenly felt his whole body lighten, and his originally illusory soul became solid again, almost the same as when he first became a ghost.

In a middle school somewhere in the motherland.

The teacher was giving a lecture at the podium, and the students below were listening attentively. The atmosphere was very harmonious.

In the back row, a handsome male student was sitting with his legs crossed, looking nonchalant.

He looked down at his cell phone, tapping away without hesitation, his expression so carefree that it seemed as if he were at home instead of at school.

The teacher was very angry when he saw this, but he didn’t dare to do anything about it.

After all, Qian Weilai had a prominent background, and even the principal of this private school had to bow and nod when he saw him.

It was said that his family was as rich as his surname2, but even with such wealth, he seemed to be dissatisfied and was a money-grubber.

Their family seemed to be into metaphysics. He has heard that someone paid a large sum of money to hire Weilai to deal with a rival.

Soon the targeted boy had to drop out of school. It was said that he was haunted by strange and bizarre nightmares.

  1. When things go wrong, there must be a yaoguai. In olden days, people would attribute ‘something going wrong’ to the presence of yaoguai. In modern times, the phrase is still used but people don’t really think a yaoguai is involvedIt’s like how English-speakers would say ‘something smells fishy’ but there’s no actual fish smell. Something is not right and you suspect something.  ↩︎
  2. Qian means ‘coin’ or ‘money. ↩︎
