[ContrastTeamInADadW/BabyShow] Ch 111.1 — Thank You For Liking Me

“Not bad!” After listening to Lin Cheng’s performance of the adjusted song, the music production director clapped his hands. “The effect and emotion of this performance are indeed much better than the previous one, and it fits the style of a parent-child program like [Living With Dad] more.”

“After a little more tuning of the details, there should be no problem,” the music production director said.

Lin Cheng nodded.

Several people worked on the basic melody and music score after adjustment, and also determined the general arrangement. The remaining production and arrangement processing was more the work of the production team.

The process went smoothly, and the music production team completed the arrangement in one day.

When Lin Cheng came to the music room again the next day, the music production team had already made a demo of the song.

“It’s come out pretty good,” the arranger said to Lin Cheng with a smile. After a pause, she added, “In addition, we’ve added a small section to the intro of this arrangement.”

“What did you add?” Lin Cheng asked, raising an eyebrow.

“You’ll know when you listen to it,” the arranger said mysteriously, then played the finished demo.

The piece didn’t begin with Lin Cheng’s masterful intro, but with a section that he’d taught Lin Momo to play in the studio yesterday during one of the breaks.

In the new section, Lin Cheng would first play a few notes, then have Lin Momo play them back.

Lin Momo’s playing wasn’t coherent, more like a jumble of notes, played one by one, unfamiliar and immature.

Lin Cheng would patiently guide her through the process before moving on to the next section.

This interweaving of familiar and unfamiliar music made it easy to guess from the music itself that it was Lin Cheng teaching Lin Momo, even without the visuals.

“This section was recorded by the equipment when you two were playing together yesterday,” the arranger explained with a smile.

She didn’t mention one thing: because the visuals at the time were so adorable, she simply recorded Lin Cheng teaching Lin Momo how to play the piano.

“Teacher Xiao Ni and I discussed it, and we both think this section is quite suitable for the beginning of the intro. It fits the musical style of the whole piece very well. It’s surprising but has a strong visual impact,” the production teacher commented.

… …

The audience in the livestream channel clearly shared the same thought:

[It sounds great!]

[I like this!]

[I like it too.]

[It sounds so good even without the lyrics. I really want to hear the full piece!]

[The program’s official Weibo account posted that it will be aired at the end of the final episode and will also be available online simultaneously.]

[Looking forward to it!]

“It’s really good. Let’s stick with this version,” Lin Cheng nodded.

After confirming with the music production team that the entire song was good, Lin Cheng had Chen Yu deliver the demo and arrangement to the [Living With Dad] production team.

Lin Cheng then went back with Lin Momo to Grand Riverside to pack and prepare for tomorrow’s premiere of [Where Are You?]. It was scheduled for 7:30 PM on Friday night at the Light and Shadow Plaza in N City.

The Light and Shadow Plaza—a viewing plaza specifically built to commemorate national filmmakers, document the history of film development, and showcase outstanding domestic films—holds great significance for the film industry. Many films chose to hold their premiere showings there.

Because it was the last weekend before school started, Lin Cheng planned to stay in N City with Lin Momo for two days to play.

The next day, father and daughter set off at noon and arrived backstage at the Light and Shadow Plaza to rehearse and prepare for the premiere.

Meanwhile, the [Living With Dad] production team also arrived and met them backstage.

After greeting them, the director smiled and asked Lin Cheng and Lin Momo. “How are your preparations for the movie premiere going?”

“Everything is ready,” Lin Momo replied immediately.

After a pause, Lin Momo looked at the director and the production crew behind her and politely said, “Thank you for coming to our movie premiere.”

Hearing this, the director quickly smiled and waved her hand, saying, “We should be the ones thanking you. Thank you, Baby and Dad, for inviting our production crew to attend this movie premiere.”

Because of the invitation, the [Living with Dad] production team could broadcast today’s backstage activities and the upcoming premiere.

Lin Momo had thoughtfully sent a special invitation to the director and everyone on the production team, a gesture that deeply touched everyone.

“Let’s get back to the main point,” the director looked at Lin Cheng and Lin Momo and asked, “Besides coming to watch Dad and Baby’s movie premiere, I have another mission today.

“Momo, do you know what it is?”

“Um, to announce the end of the week’s mission?” Lin Momo said.

After all, this was an inevitable part of every weekly mission.

Hearing this, the director nodded, “That’s right.”

“The recording of this week’s theme, ‘My Life’, is about to wrap up. This is also the final episode of [Living with Dad]. After the movie premiere, our show recording will also come to an end here.

“Thank you, Dad and Baby, for bringing us such a wonderful life experience over the past seven weeks,” the director said. She looked at the camera and continued, “And thank you to all the viewers for being with us all this time.”

“Momo, have you enjoyed recording [Living with Dad] these past seven weeks?” the director asked, looking at Lin Momo.

“Yes! I’m very happy!” Lin Momo answered loudly.

The director then looked at Lin Cheng and asked, “What about Dad? What insights have you gained from the show?”

“I’ve gained a lot and also learned a lot,” Lin Cheng replied. The biggest, most important ‘knowledge point’ I learned during this time was probably how to be a father.

“Momo, do you have anything else to say to our audience?” the director asked.

“Yes,” Lin Momo thought for a moment, then looked towards the camera with a serious face, and then she said, “Thank you, everyone, for liking me and my Dad.”

In the nightmare that had been with her for a long time, both she and Lin Cheng had a miserable ending.

Fortunately, those terrible things did not happen in reality.

Lin Momo was not sure what had changed this time, but at least one thing was different: in the dream everyone was scolding them, but in reality, everyone liked them very much.

As soon as Lin Momo said this, the livestream channel was immediately flooded with comments from the audience:

[You’re welcome, we all like you very much! ]

[We will always like you! ]

[Good girl, you deserve it! Momo’s Dad deserves it too!

… …

Not only the audience, but even the director couldn’t help but sigh, “Because Momo is so adorable, we all like you.”

The director’s words were met with nods from the crew and cameramen behind her.

It was simply the truth: ever since the show began filming, Lin Momo had always been sensible, polite, and measured. She kept to herself, never made a scene, never caused trouble for the crew, and even showed concern for them.

When it rained, outside of the livestream viewers’ eyes, Lin Momo would share her umbrella with the crew and cameramen, offer a small fan to cool them down when it was hot, share lunch boxes she’d received on set, and even share any homemade food.

There was no reason for them to dislike such a child.
