[MythicalBeastCafeteria] Chapter 2.2 — Do You Not Want To Stick To Me?

Early the next morning, Luo Huai’an got up early, washed, packed her things, and went to Jiangcheng Aeronautics University.

It was now August, the summer vacation, and there were not many students right now in the Aeronautics University campus. Those who remained were students and staff who resided in campus.

Because she had agreed with the construction foreman that she would go and apply for work at the university’s cafeteria, Luo Huai’an did not walk towards the construction site today but instead turned and walked towards the Cafeteria.

In order to take a shortcut, she chose to enter from the southeast gate of the school. As soon as she entered, she saw the Eighth Cafeteria. The Eighth Cafeteria was beautiful and exquisite, nestled against the mountains and beside the water, with birds singing and flowers blooming.

Her eyes lit up, and she couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise, “This four-story building is so beautiful, just like the big villas of rich people on TV. It also has great feng shui and is full of spiritual energy.

“Jiangcheng Aeronautics University is the place with the most spiritual energy in this university town, and this cafeteria is even more so. If it weren’t for the unparalleled spiritual energy in Fragrant Mountain, I would have wanted to settle down here.”

Because she had to pass by the Eighth Cafeteria anyway to go to the First Cafeteria, Luo Huai’an simply walked towards Eighth Cafeteria.

The closer she got, the more satisfied she became with the Eighth Cafeteria. It has rooted itself so much in her heart that she felt even the number matched her perfectly1.

She clenched her fists and made up her mind, “The small restaurant I will open in the future must be as luxurious as this one.”

There were ten men in suits and ties standing inside the door of the Eighth Cafeteria, and they looked a bit difficult to deal with.

When she walked up to the door of the Eighth Cafeteria, she suddenly smelled a strange smell. She immediately sniffed and thought to herself, “What a wonderful scent!”

In the cafeteria, a team member, sweating profusely, ran to the captain and displayed his distorted compass to everyone. “Captain, something is really wrong here. My compass is completely messed up, and there’s supernatural energy surging through it. I just used a tortoise shell to do a divination, and this supernatural energy isn’t just from any ordinary supernatural creature. It’s at least B-level.”

According to their internal documents, supernatural creatures were classified into over ten levels. The weakest were the F-level forest sprites, while the most powerful were the SSS-level. Above this, there’s an ‘unspeakable’ level, where the supernatural creatures were considered divine, such as the Phoenix, the Azure Dragon, and… the Pixiu. However, these super high level supernatural creatures have never appeared before humans, never revealed any trace of themselves. Thus, this godly rating system existed in name only.

B-level supernatural creatures were considered medium-strength. Zhang Jing looked solemnly at his subordinates and said, “The mission has become more difficult. Evacuate people immediately.”

Zhang Jing turned to look at Chancellor Wen and the other school leaders. “Chancellor Wen, this is my most powerful subordinate, a true disciple of the profound realms of Daoism. Even he can’t figure it out. There must be a powerful supernatural creature here. You should go back first, and let us professionals handle this matter.”

Although Chancellor Wen was curious, he couldn’t intervene, so he nodded and said, “Okay, we’ll go first.”

Vice-Chancellor Ling frowned and shook his head secretly, thinking, ‘The relevant departments actually have a compass talisman? Detecting a bunch of ghosts? Could the Chancellor have been fooled?’

At this moment, his sensitive nose suddenly noticed a fishy smell in the air. He immediately perked up and looked towards the source of the smell.

The smell was coming from the back door of the cafeteria.

He stared at that place for a while, and his eyes immediately widened, “How could this be??”

In his eyes, a puddle of water suddenly appeared out of nowhere on the floor by the back door of the cafeteria. The water gradually flowed like a snake to the center of the cafeteria. The water spread very quickly and was now about to reach their feet.

As time passed, the number of water puddles increased, and the floor of the cafeteria looked like it had been flooded.

The Director of the Logistics Department didn’t see the whole process, and he only realized something was wrong when his feet got wet. He asked in confusion, “Is the faucet at the back broken?”

Vice-Chancellor Ling, however, knew otherwise. His keen eyes could clearly see the changing patterns of the water puddles. They seemed to be caused by fish swimming across the surface. His materialist worldview was in dire jeopardy, gradually shattering because of what he was seeing.

Zhang Jing realized something was wrong and immediately ordered his team members to take the school leaders away.

But the water spread so quickly that it reached their feet in the blink of an eye.

A chill spread from the soles of their feet to their entire bodies, and everyone felt frozen. Gradually, a sticky sound of something wet could be heard coming from around their feet. Threads of water like spun silk entangled everyone’s feet. Zhang Jing found himself unable to move.

Just as he was getting anxious, he suddenly saw a girl walk in out of the corner of his eye.

The girl was very beautiful and elegant, but he had no inclination to appreciate her. He immediately shouted, “It’s dangerous here, run!”

The water puddles reacted quickly, immediately turning into more silk threads, quickly flowing to the girl’s feet and entangling the girl’s feet like a net.

Vice-Chancellor Ling stared in shock at the threads of water wrapped around his feet. He began to feel colder and colder, and his materialistic worldview instantly shattered. He couldn’t help but mutter to himself, “So those cafeteria staff weren’t lying after all.”

Chancellor Wen looked at the other school leaders, a headache brewing. He shouldn’t have sent anyone here; he should have had the Eighth Cafeteria sealed off directly.

If this continued, tomorrow’s news would probably show the sudden and unexplained deaths of the school leaders from the Jiangcheng Aeronautical University!
