[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 52.3 — Just the Game, Not Him

Jian Hang was used to being watched by people. No matter where she went to eat, there would always be people looking at her. She was used to it.

Liao Yongmei whispered, “The Fourth Division is more difficult than you think. I heard that its products have been unbundled from the Second Division’s, and the budget was cut in half.”

Jian Hang said, “It’s okay.”

She took a bite of the steamed egg with shrimp, but it wasn’t as delicious as the one Qin Moling made.

Liao Yongmei reminded, “Zhou Yi and Zheng Yanshu will definitely give you trouble. They are both unruly.”

Jian Hang said calmly, “I have plenty of ways to deal with people.”

Even Lin Xiao was completely obedient to her. In comparison, everyone else was in easy mode.

Hearing this, Liao Yongmei felt more confident and even the meat before her became more fragrant.

After the meal, Jian Hang returned to her office, which was twice as big as her office in Yinlin, and all the office furniture was new.

Xiao Fan put away the excitement on her face and said, “Ms. Jian, please tell me if you have anything to say.”

Jian Hang nodded and said, “You can take a rest first.”

She was going upstairs to find Qin Moling.

At 12:08, Jian Hang knocked on Qin Moling’s office door.

Qin Moling looked at the time. She came right on time.

“Come in.”

Jian Hang pushed the door open and locked it behind her.

Her first words were, “I’ll just play one round.”

Qin Moling: “…”

If it wasn’t for the game, she probably wouldn’t even have gone upstairs to see him.

He unlocked his phone and handed it to her, “What did you have for lunch?”

“Steamed egg.” Then she said, “Not as good as yours.”

Qin Moling heard this and thought she was being coquettish. He said, “I’ll make it for you when I get home tonight.”

“Okay.”

Jian Hang took the phone, sat on the sofa, and logged into the game.

Qin Moling watched her for several minutes, but she didn’t notice.

He did not go to the lounge to take a nap. Instead, he sat down next to Jian Hang, leaning against the armrest of the sofa, supporting his forehead, his eyes closed, resting.

Jian Hang was in good shape and had good luck today, so it didn’t take her long to defeat all her opponents.

She exited the game immediately after winning.

It was not time to go to work yet. Jian Hang put down the phone. She wasn’t sure if Qin Moling was asleep, so she stood up gently.

“Are you done?” Qin Moling opened his eyes.

“Yeah.” Jian Hang apologized, “Did I wake you up?”

“Wasn’t sleeping.”

He reached out, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her back, “Take a few minutes to nap. Then you won’t feel sleepy this afternoon.”

Jian Hang leaned in his arms, not feeling sleepy at all. She smelled his scent and felt very calm.

There were still a dozen minutes until one o’clock. When it came time to work, he would be her boss.

But not yet.

She hugged him tight.

Qin Moling thought she wanted it, but they didn’t have enough time, “If you want to do it in the future, don’t play games.”

Jian Hang: “…”

He misunderstood.

But this misunderstanding did not need to be explained; explaining it would only make him embarrassed.

From here on, when she played games every day, then the misunderstanding would clear up on its own.

“I’m heading back.”

She went back to prepare for the meeting of the Fourth Division at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Based on her experience, Zhou Yi and Zheng Yanshu would not be happily attending the meeting.

Xiao Fan was very energetic at noon today. She didn’t take a nap and was waiting for Jian Hang to instruct her.

“Ms. Jian,” seeing Jian Hang coming back, she quickly followed her.

Jian Hang asked, “Is there a groupchat for the Fourth Division management?”

Xiao Fan nodded, “Yes, I’ll add you in right away.”

After entering the group, Jian Hang greeted: [I am Jian Hang.]

Then posted a picture.

Xiao Fan clicked on it and found a screenshot of part of the contract signed between Jian Hang and the company. The screenshot was marked with a red line highlighting something: Jian Hang had absolute authority to appoint and dismiss personnel in the Fourth Division.

As far as she knew, the general managers of the other three divisions did not have this authority, and they had to first gain approval from senior management to hire or fire people in key positions.

Jian Hang sent to the group: [Please read the section about personnel appointment and dismissal authority carefully.]

She specifically reminded: [Absolute authority to appoint and dismiss personnel means that if I think someone is not suitable to stay in my team, I have the right to dismiss him, and the company will make good compensation.]

The people in the groupchat was originally planning to welcome the new boss, but suddenly it became quiet.

Jian Hang sent another message: [The meeting will be moved up to 1:30.]

After exiting the chat box, she told Xiao Fan, “Give me the list of people who should attend the meeting today.”

Xiao Fan said, “Okay, Ms. Jian.”

Five minutes ahead of time, Jian Hang went to the conference room.

Including her, the core management team of the Fourth Division had a total of 8 people.

There were 5 people sitting in the conference room now. Marketing Director Zhou Yi and the Sales Director Zheng Yanshu were missing.

Xiao Fan held her breath, worried that the two would not come. She couldn’t help but look at Jian Hang. The boss looked like nothing had happened, filling in the numbers in the report.

She glanced at the time on her phone again. It was already half past one and these two people were not there yet.

Jian Hang turned around and signaled to Xiao Fan, “Let’s begin the meeting.”

Xiao Fan nodded and closed the door. It was the first time she felt that the door was so heavy.

The door closed.

The conference room was completely silent, and several people even held their breath.

At 1:31, footsteps were heard outside the conference room and the door was pushed open from the outside.

Zhou Yi came in and glanced at Jian Hang.

Jian Hang was projecting something on the screen from her laptop and had no time to look at him.

Xiao Fan breathed a sigh of relief. At least one person came. The boss could save half of her face and not lose face entirely. Zhou Yi did not close the door when he came in just now, so she did not close it again and left the door open to get some fresh air. She hoped that the other person would come.

At 1:33, a tall figure appeared.

Xiao Fan breathed a sigh of relief—he finally came. She glanced at Zheng Yanshu, who must surely have been mad before he came. He had washed his face with cold water, and the ends of the hair on his forehead were still wet.

In the past, she was attracted by Zheng Yanshu’s looks. Apart from the big boss Qin Moling, Zheng Yanshu was the most handsome man in their Lemeng, and he was also very capable. But today, she was completely unable to find him attractive at all. She was still feeling panicky.

She was afraid that Jian Hang would be humiliated by these two.

Jian Hang successfully projected on the screen and clicked on one of the reports. “I don’t like others to be late. Today is the first meeting, so I’ll make an exception. There won’t be a next time.”

Without further ado, she got straight to the point, “Take a look at this month’s sales report.”

Qin Moling called, Jian Hang hung up and replied: [I’m in a meeting, please don’t disturb me.]
