[ILivestreamDivination] Chapter 66.1 — Gold-Digging Celebrity

When Lu Fang’s fans heard An Rugu say that their idol was borrowing his fans’ luck, they were about to explode with anger.

[As soon as I entered the livestream, I heard the host fabricating rumors and spreading negative information about Lu Fang. You can delete it if you want, but I’ve already recorded it. The studio will be the first to send you a lawyer’s letter.]

[The vendor of the notebook must have accidentally misprinted the logo. The album and other merchandise I bought didn’t have this thing. Please stop throwing mud at Older Brother, okay?]

[Older Brother is so kind, how could he possibly harm us? I laughed so hard. How much money did you receive from his rivals?]

When the old viewers in the livestream channel saw this group of fans making rude remarks, they all picked up their keyboards and started a fight.

[You guys definitely haven’t watched the streamer’s livestream before. Her influence is behind Zhu Tingting and Zhou Ye’er’s retirements. This is just Little Lu Fang, how ridiculous!]

[Older Brother, Older Brother… you keep calling out ‘Older Brother’, I guess your combined age is still smaller than my shoe size. First, go search for the streamer’s glorious achievements, then come and brag about your ‘Older Brother’.]

[Who do you think you are? You are just a hermit-stuck-in-a-mountain who doesn’t know anything.]

Countless new and old viewers fought with each other. The barrage of comments was thunderous, and the atmosphere at the livestream channel was foul.

The only benefit was that, as the number of comments barrage increased, this directly lead to a rapid increase in popularity of the livestream.

… …

Some people who didn’t know the reason thought that An Rugu had signed a barrage-requirement contract with the platform and deliberately induced everyone to post comments to increase her popularity and get higher rankings.

Perhaps out of fear of repercussions, the comments in her livestream channel were usually harmonious, and there were very few comments that curse others or stir up trouble.

The moderators usually had nothing to do, but now that there was real work to do, they were eager to get started and quickly banned unruly accounts to show off their excellent work ability.

An Rugu saw many messages on the public screen about the moderators banning Lu Fang’s fans from posting, but she looked indifferent and didn’t care at all.

“Those who maliciously insult others will be banned, others who are rational don’t need to be. A person with integrity has nothing to fear. I didn’t lie. Justice is clear in the hearts of the people.

“Since he dared to use this spell on the notebook, other items will definitely not escape his clutches either.”

… …

Soon, a new voice appeared in the mixed barrage.

[Hiss… I just took out his album from my collection. There’s a very small mark on the lower right corner of the cover, exactly like the talisman.]

[Fuck, I saw it too. It’s about the size of a fingernail, so you can’t see it unless you look closely. I hadn’t noticed it before.]

[I noticed it before, but I didn’t think about it that way. I thought it was just an anti-counterfeiting mark.]

Many fans who were still arguing were stunned. Was it true? There were also spells on the album?

Many of them didn’t spend the money to get the limited edition notebook, but they basically all bought the album, so they took out their copies of the album immediately.

Looking closely, there really was a small spell reflected in the lower right corner of the black album cover. The color was very similar to the black background, almost blending into it. It was impossible to see it without careful observation.

Not only that, many people have also found this small mark on other merchandise they bought to support their idol.

In countless places across the motherland, fans gasped one after another.

[It’s over, Older Brother’s merchandise seem to be really strange!]

The quarrels in the livestream channel gradually disappeared, replaced by endless fear.

[I slid to my knees with a plop. What should I do? I don’t want my luck to be stolen.]

[No wonder I’ve been so unlucky lately. Even drinking cold water gets stuck in my teeth. It seems my luck has been stolen. Ugh, why is he doing this to us? He didn’t even ask us if we agree.]

[You bunch of fake fans, get lost! I’m willing to give my good fortune to Older Brother, so that his career will get better and better!]

[Plus one, wishing Older Brother a happy life and a bright future. Isn’t it just a bit of luck? Just think of it as spending some money, I’m willing!]

An Rugu stared at the barrage for a while and felt somewhat relieved.

Lu Fang’s fans were now divided into two camps. One was the more rational people who thought that Lu Fang was wrong to do this, and the other was the crazier people who didn’t care.

Her eyes changed, and she said calmly, “Even if your luck is stolen and your life is taken away, are you still willing?”

Lu Fang’s fans: “???”

An Rugu pondered her words for a while and continued, “Humans are the most intelligent creatures in the world. When they make a sincere wish, they can release a little bit of their willpower.

“The effect of this spell is that the more you love him, the more loyal you are to him, and the more wishes you make for him, the more luck he will gain.

“Those whose luck has been borrowed will see their fortunes turn from good to bad; disasters will befall them, and everything will go wrong for them. In serious cases, fatal blood disasters will appear, such as car accidents, disasters thrown down by the heavens, or White Tiger-class disasters1, threatening their lives.”

When they heard that their lives were in danger, even the group of craziest fans were stunned.

[If it’s life-threatening… forget it. If I die, my parents will be heartbroken.]

[As a true fan, I am crying. He doesn’t just want a little luck, he’s sucking our luck dry. He has no bottom line at all!]

… …

An Rugu restrained her expression upon seeing this change in attitude.

It seemed that even the craziest fans still had some sense, and almost no one was willing to love him to the point of risking their lives.

Then she narrowed her eyes slightly, and a cold light flashed across her eyes.

This Lu Fang was so cruel—he trampled on the sincere feelings of those who love him and used evil methods to steal their luck. It was only righteous to ruin him.

Borrowing luck was against the will of heaven, and Lu Fang would get his comeuppance sooner or later, but this person didn’t seem to care about the eventual comeuppance and thought it was more important to enjoy the present.

He was just wishful thinking.

T/N: This ‘wish power‘ seems to be getting used a lot so I’ll explain it a bit.

When An Rugu went to Lady of Mount Taishan Temple, she made a prayer/petition/wish asking the Lady what to do with the fox. She’s An Rugu so she actually got a direct reply from the fox attendants.

But this prayer/petition/wish can be made by anyone. That’s why she told the grand-nephew of the recently deceased old lady to think about her when he burns paper money for her, otherwise the money would go nowhere—it’s thinking of her and making a wish that makes it work.

I’ve been translating it as ‘wish’ or ‘prayer’, but from context, it’s more the energy generated by the wish. The power created by a person’s will or earnest desire. The firmer the belief, the stronger the wish, the more energy is generated.

This situation with Lu Fang is the same, but in a negative way. His fans are generating massive amounts of prayer/petition/wish energies and he is using it to steal their luck.
