[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 67.1 — Day 23: Predator

Yun Fei hadn’t expected that the master would directly refuse her order. A wave of resentment welled up in her heart.

With an embarrassed expression, she sent a message to the master: [“Why? Just because she is richer than me and has a higher social status than me?”]

Master: [The key is that your childhood sweetheart doesn’t likes you.]

Yun Fei gritted her teeth after hearing this message and replied, [“You just said that feelings can be cultivated slowly.”]

Master: [You’ve been trying hard for so many years and still haven’t achieved anything. Give it up.]

Yun Fei was not willing to give up, so she continued to send messages to the other party: [I will give you 100,000 first. If you can find a way to get him and me together, I will give you another 500,000.]

The ‘other party is typing’ was displayed and then disappeared.

After a long while, the master replied: [“Although the client is rich, your opponent is richer and more powerful than you. If we offend her, we will both be in trouble.”]

Yun Fei sneered: [You claim to be a master who can make iron trees bloom and stone grow, how come you cant do anything now?]

Master: [Client, don’t hang yourself on one tree1. If you really look like Yun Fei, you will definitely be able to find a man!]

Yun Fei tried hard to calm down her anger, and blocked this so-called master after sending one the last message.

Customer 3: [What a waste of time!]

After Wang Hongyang received the message, he replied and found that he had been blocked and had no chance to fight back.

Yun Fei called him a waste of time, wasn’t she the one who wasted time? She and Ji Chaozhou had been childhood sweethearts for so many years, they should have been together a long time ago.

Wang Hongyang lay down comfortably again. Although he gave up 600,000 yuan, he did not offend Cheng Liu and would still be able to make some money.

After all, the company’s top executives have made it clear that they support him.

Wang Hongyang was browsing his phone, feeling a little jealous. Ji Chaozhou was only a little bit better than him, but Cheng Liu and now even Yun Fei liked him too.

In this world, face really was king. He should be grateful that Ji Chaozhou didn’t join the entertainment industry.

Cheng Liu drove the car and stopped in front of the villa. This car belonged to Ji Chaozhou, so she should have driven into his garage, but she suddenly hesitated.

She wanted to meet Ji Chaozhou, and anyway, she just had to be bold enough to do so.

She put away her phone, repeatedly making sure she would not mention a single word about Wang Hongyang before driving in.

The door opened automatically after scanning the license plate number.

Cheng Liu parked the car in the garage and walked slowly into the living room. She didn’t see Ji Chaozhou. She looked around and her eyes fell on the two cups on the coffee table.

Did any guest come earlier?

Ji Chaozhou’s cell phone was on the table, so he should be at home.

Cheng Liu thought about it and walked towards the yard. There was still no one there. She found that the swimming pool seemed to have been cleaned and the water replaced.

She sat on a rattan chair in the patio, gazing at the courtyard in a trance. The afterglow of the setting sun sprinkled rays on the shimmering water of the pool, and the surrounding green lawn seemed to be dyed golden.

There had been a power outage that night, and the two of them sat by the pool. He didn’t refuse her approach then, so he probably liked her a little.

Cheng Liu was naturally good at analyzing the behavior and emotions of people around her. Relying on this natural ability, she rarely failed in her career.

But when she met Ji Chaozhou, this talent seemed to be ineffective and could not be brought into play.

Or to be more precise, Cheng Liu was not willing to analyze Ji Chaozhou the way she analyzed other people with a cold eye.

She also hoped that Ji Chaozhou would be willing to take the initiative to share everything about himself to her.

Cheng Liu sat on the rattan chair, her upper body leaning forward, her hands hanging between her legs, as if thinking about something: he was obviously worried about something, and she was waiting for him to think through it.

“What are you doing here?”

The clear and cool voice that belonged only to Ji Chaozhou sounded from Cheng Liu’s side.

Cheng Liu turned around and saw Ji Chaozhou wearing dark green lounge robe. He had a familiar bitter coffee aroma. The ends of his hair were dripping with water which flowed into the depressions between his collarbones, slowly forming a shallow puddle.

“I…” Cheng Liu’s eyes followed the drops of water, her mind completely focused on his collarbone, and she completely forgot what she was about to say.

She suddenly remembered what she had imagined before—about swimming on Ji Chaozhou’s collarbone.

Cheng Liu thought it was logical before, but now she suddenly felt that this statement was not only logical, but also realistic.

It turned out that swimming could also be done this way.

Young President Cheng’s mind had already been swimming for a few seconds in the puddle of her beloved’s clavicle.

Perhaps her gaze was too scorching, Ji Chaozhou raised his hand to gather his robe to cover his collarbone, and all the water droplets at the end of his hair fell onto the robe, wetting the dark green silk.

Cheng Liu looked away with a bit of regret, stood up and walked inside the house.”Has the water in the swimming pool been changed?”

Ji Chaozhou glanced at the yard calmly, “Changed. I had the lawn cleaned—or frogs will come again.”

Somehow, Young President Cheng had a thought: Why does this sentence feel like it has a hidden meaning?

“Your car is parked in the garage.”

Cheng Liu was a little embarrassed now. Ji Chaozhou had meant to say that her car smelled bad, but he didn’t expose it. She just said, “I’m going to sell my old car. I want to pick out a new one tomorrow. Are you free to come with me?”

The old car has been driven for seven or eight years, and it was indeed time to replace it.

Ji Chaozhou did not refuse.

  1. Don’t hang yourself on one tree. It’s advice given to someone who’s overly sad over a break-up—the ‘one tree’ being the object of affection. It’s kinda like how we use ‘there are other fish in the sea’ in English. ↩︎
