[ILivestreamDivination] Chapter 64.1 — Big Company Killer

In the huge, child’s bedroom, the two sides were in a tense standoff, and neither side was willing to give in.

“Your daughter is in my hands.”

In Father Su’s ears, the female voice gradually distorted into a vulgar male voice, and a nightmarish scene flashed in his mind.

He seemed to go back more than twenty years, with the kidnapper’s words ringing in his ears.

His face was pale, his body was shaking violently, his vision was blurry, and he clenched his fists so hard that veins bulged as he tried to endure the pain.

The birth of the child had made him a father for the first time. He felt a joyous surprise and a little terrified at the same time, and his shoulders were full of responsibilities. He wanted to use all the languages he knew to describe the feelings of being a new father, but he could never find the right words to describe his true feelings.

All he knew was that from then on, a person existed in this world whom he loved the most, and she would slowly grow up before his eyes.

His daughter’s tender voice and cries for help lingered in his ears.

It was so hard to bring her back to life, how could they give up this opportunity?

He pursed his dry lips, put on a hypocritical smile, and said, “I won’t tell you.”

He was very experienced in business and had a good eye for people. If this Master really wanted to take action, she would have done it as soon as she saw Su Zhi and would not engage in a stalemate bargaining.

An Rugu paused as she was making hand gestures, a hint of surprise flashed across her eyes. This Father Su was really perceptive and stubborn.

She certainly didn’t intend to attack Su Zhi.

Jiangshi were strong enough to tear living people apart, and they had a desire for the flesh and blood of living people in their bones. But Su Zhi has not gone crazy from beginning to end. She was more like a dead thing than a jiangshi.

It would be a shame to just destroy such a special jiangshi without studying its strange features.

She glanced at Mother Su’s terrified face, and her eyes changed.

Father Su was sharp and greedy, with a businessman’s genes engraved in his bones. Even when his beloved daughter had fallen into trouble, he could still analyze the situation like a cold-blooded animal.

No wonder he was able to make a comeback despite being heavily in debt back then.

But she didn’t know whether Mother Su was a warm-blooded animal or not.

An Rugu waved her hand and said mercilessly, “Since you said so, don’t blame me.”

In an instant, the sharp, golden flying swords pointed directly at the jiangshi on the bed, and—following its owner’s will—stabbed towards the jiangshi’s face.

It was getting closer and closer, and it seemed that it would cut her skin in the next second.

Mother Su’s was horrified: “—Stop! I’ll tell you who it is!”

Father Su’s eyes suddenly turned red, and he immediately scolded her, “That is her only chance to revive, can you calm down a little.”

Mother Su’s was filled with hatred, “When Tongtong was kidnapped, you also told me to calm down and you said you would bring her back soon. What happened?”

Father Su gritted his teeth and said, “It was just a mistake.”

That group of loan sharks had never killed anyone before and were not very courageous. But that day they did not believe his promises and killed Tongtong directly.

Mother Su shouted at the top of her lungs, “I will never trust you again because you are wrong! You have already caused her to die once, and I will never allow it to happen a second time!”

Upon hearing this, Su’s father lowered his head, like a lost dog.

Near the Su family villa.

A middle-aged man was walking along the tree-lined path.

His cheeks were sunken, the area under his eyes was dark, and he looked very much like a drug addict—or a jiangshi.

The passers-by around him saw that he was different from others and looked at him curiously.

He ignored the strange looks from passers-by, lowered his voice, and said into his phone, “I found that person. Not only is her eight characters suitable for raising a corpse, but the best thing is that her parents are deeply resentful.

Jiangshi gather the resentment of heaven and earth and absorb the essence of the sun and moon to be born. Do you know what level she was when she first became a jiangshi?”

A man’s nonchalant voice came from the other end of the phone, “Could it be unbreakable bones?”

The middle-aged man choked. “How can it be possible to be born at the highest level? That’s too exaggerated.”

“Oh? But if it’s not unbreakable bones, what’s so great about that?”

Seeing that he had such high standards, the middle-aged man gritted his teeth and said, “You are very capable, and you don’t think highly of me. Fine, I’m done.”

“Wait, you haven’t told me what level she is.”

The middle-aged man looked around and saw no one; the street was empty, so he said with confidence, “It’s only one level lower than unbreakable bones—it’s a crouching corpse! So it has no desire for flesh and blood, and can control its instincts.”

“I see…”

The middle-aged man became more and more excited as he spoke, his eyes sparkling. “I asked her parents to nourish her with the flesh and blood of relatives. Soon she will be in my hands, a corpse that will not decay. I have raised so many corpses, but I have never seen one as powerful as this one.”

The man on the other end of the phone yawned and seemed disinterested.

The middle-aged man was a little angry, “Do you look down on me as a corpse driver?”

“No, I just don’t like dealing with corpses. I only care about money.”

The young man seemed to want to say something, and his tone rose, “Will they give you money?”

The middle-aged man smiled when he heard this and said, “10 billion in exchange for their daughter’s life. When I get the money, I’ll grab the unbreakable bones and run away.”

He only promised to help the Su parents level up their daughter; he never said that he wouldn’t have other thoughts. When she advanced to the level of unbreakable bones, he would steal Su Zhi away.

“A win-win then,” the young man smiled.

The middle-aged man was a little puzzled, “Why is it a win-win situation? It’s obvious that I’m the only winner.”

The Su family not only would lose money, but would also lose their jiangshi daughter.

“Because you won twice.”

The man in middle-aged suit: “…”

T/N: This middle-aged man likely means something nefarious and metaphysical when he refers to himself as ‘corpse driver’ but this occupation seems to have actually existed in certain parts of China. Pursuant to the belief that those who died away from home should be brought back home for burial, corpse drivers are employed to transport them over large distances. The bodies are often tied to bamboo poles and then the bamboo is lifted on the shoulders of the corpse drivers for transport. Because of the odd, swaying, weaving movements, the bodies appear to be ‘hopping’. These processions mostly travel by night so as to avoid the living (the dead are considered bad luck), with a gong beaten in front to let villagers know they are passing.

So you can imagine the scene, late at night, no lights, you hear the faint sound of gongs beating, and you know a procession of the dead has passed you by.

I now have this piece of knowledge in my head so I insist that you do too 🙂
