[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 63.2 — Day 22: Ex-Boyfriend

After Wang Hongyang finished two pieces of dessert, the phone in his pocket vibrated wildly. He took it out and saw that they were all messages from his agent.

[What is your relationship with Cheng Liu? ]

[I saw some photos of you and Cheng Liu talking. ]

[You were able to strike up a conversation with her at the exhibition. Were you two really dating?]

Wang Hongyang rolled his eyes. There were so many eyes at the exhibition. He repeated what his former agent said to him back then: [Brother, stop dreaming. How could Cheng Liu date me?]

Not only the agent, but also people from all walks of life in the exhibition, seeing that he could strike up a conversation with Cheng Liu, began coming over to talk to Wang Hongyang. This even included some of the big names he had tried to strike up a conversation with earlier but ignored him.

Wang Hongyang kept smiling, feeling excited in his heart.

He didn’t expect that after he got nothing out of that relationship for half a year, now that they have broken up, he could still borrow Cheng Liu’s power!

… …

On the other side, Cheng Liu stood near Ji Chaozhou, listening to what those people were saying, but she couldn’t understand a word they were talking about—it was all about perfume.

She stayed quietly by the side, waiting for them to finish talking so she could talk to Ji Chaozhou.

Finally, there was a perfumer who thought she was a star and came over to ask if she was willing to be the spokesperson for his brand. There was also a younger perfumer who directly asked Cheng Liu for her contact information and wanted to date her.

“I’m not a star, I don’t accept endorsements.” Cheng Liu took advantage of the distance and pointed to Ji Chaozhou and said, “I’m dating him.”

In fact, Cheng Liu was not far away and the exhibition was not noisy. Ji Chaozhou heard her words clearly, and his lips curled up slightly— but he quickly retracted them.

The two perfumers in front of Cheng Liu turned away with regret after hearing what she said.

Ji Chaozhou finished talking to the perfumer in front of him and walked straight to Cheng Liu who was standing nearby.

“Are you done?” Cheng Liu asked when she saw him coming over.

Ji Chaozhou looked at her quietly for a moment before asking, “Have you finished talking to your boyfriend?”

Boyfriend! What boyfriend?!

Cheng Liu quickly distanced herself from the relationship. “He is not my boyfriend, we have already broken up!”

“Yeah, ex-boyfriend,” Ji Chaozhou changed the title calmly.

But Cheng Liu felt uneasy. She had a feeling that if she didn’t explain it well now, her road to happiness would be utterly in ruins!

Cheng Liu raised her hand and swore, “Although we have been together before, however— However.…”

After thinking ‘however’ for a long time, she couldn’t find a suitable justification. She did date Wang Hongyang, and the relationship lasted for half a year.

Ji Chaozhou stood in front Cheng Liu, reached out and pressed down the raised hand. He then leaned over slightly and raised his other hand to adjust the black ribbon around her neck. His fingertips inadvertently touched her skin—the contact between the cold fingertips and the warm skin caused a ticklish feeling.

He leaned close to Cheng Liu’s ear, and she couldn’t see his expression clearly. Unexpectedly, Ji Chaozhou suddenly raised his gaze and looked coldly at Wang Hongyang in the distance.

Just as Wang Hongyang was enjoying the attention of the big names surrounding him, he saw Ji Chaozhou looking at him, and he choked on a mouthful of wine. ‘cough, cough, cough!’.

Ji Chaozhou’s eyes were so scary!

Cheng Liu raised her head slightly to make it easier for Ji Chaozhou and asked casually, “What other activities will there be later?”

“Everyone who attended the exhibition has one ballot to vote for their favorite perfume,” Ji Chaozhou explained. “At the end, the perfume with the most votes will win the Best Perfume Award of the exhibition.”

Yun Fei, who was standing by, saw their intimate actions and felt jealous, full of helplessness. In the end, she gritted her teeth and turned her back, no longer looking at them.

I don’t believe these two can get far!

Not to mention that Ji Chaozhou had a sensitive and cold personality, even Cheng Liu—a so-called meritorious person—was definitely too domineering.

“Then I’ll vote later.” Cheng Liu felt his fingertips tickle her skin and couldn’t help laughing.

Ji Chaozhou put down his hand, stepped back, and reminded, “Just choose your favorite perfume.”

Cheng Liu said without thinking, “I like the perfume you make the most.”

Ji Chaozhou turned his head away, avoiding looking at her, and responded in a low voice: “… Yeah.”

The exhibition was filled with various perfumes, but Cheng Liu was not interested. After getting the ballot from the waiter, she went straight to the Ranshan booth and dropped it directly into the box below Midu.

When almost everyone had cast their votes, the host came out and everyone gradually gathered in the center of the exhibition hall, waiting for the awards to be announced.

In this exhibition, many classic foreign perfumes were displayed, as well as local perfumes. Ranshan had two classic perfumes, while the sales of its other perfumes have always been mediocre.

There was only one award for the best perfume.

Cheng Liu looked at the host. She was surprisingly a little nervous, considering she didn’t know anything about perfumes.

Or to be more precise, she was worried about Ji Chaozhou.

Cheng Liu turned to look at Ji Chaozhou beside her. His eyelashes drooped, and he showed no outward emotion. He looked like he was lost in thought about something else.

“The winner of the Best Perfume Award at this year’s Perfume Exhibition is…” The host held up the cue card and paused before speaking, “Ranshan Midu! Congratulations to Ranshan for winning the Best Perfume Award!”

Cheng Liu smiled, raised her hands and clapped. She said to Ji Chaozhou, “As it should be.”

Ji Chaozhou did not raise his eyes to look at the host. He turned his head and made eye contact with Cheng Liu before going on stage.

“I believe everyone here must have smelled the scent of Midu,” said the host.

After Ji Chaozhou received the trophy, the host interviewed him, “Many people in the industry have always wondered how you created Midu.”

Ji Chaozhou’s gaze passed through the crowd and fell on Cheng Liu. He said slowly, “I had an inspiration.”

Now, he could no longer make a perfume like Midu.
