[ILivestreamDivination] Chapter 27.3 — Spirit Games. Follow up on Real and Fake Daughters

However, at this time, new words appeared in the exercise book: [This is not the only problem!]

Zhang Jingyuan had no choice but to raise his hand and scratch his face, and said awkwardly, “If I remember right, the second question seemed to be… ‘it is said that the Spirit of the Pen knows everything, but do you know if our Chinese teacher is having an affair with the Dean of students?’

New words appeared on the exercise book: [They are having an extramarital affair, and I saw it with my own eyes!]

An Rugu and others: “…”

New words appeared on the exercise book: [Not only this question, but also other questions!]

Zhang Jingyuan was hesitant at first and refused to talk about it, but when he saw that the exercise book refused to let him go, he had to grit his teeth and said, “Zhao Siming wanted to tease the Spirit of the Pen, so he said, ‘Spirit of the Pen’, you are so powerful, I know that this next question will definitely not trouble you’.

“But as it happened, the pen held by the four of us did not move—he did not know the answer to the question.

“We generally don’t laugh unless something funny happens…”

An Rugu: “…”

The writing on the exercise book became particularly scrawled, showing the owner’s anger: [My grades are very good, but the questions Zhao Siming gave me were not high school questions, but partial differential equations in college mathematics. They just bullied me. And I couldn’t even speak!]

How could he bear being bullied like this by four juniors? So he came to take revenge on them the next day!

An Rugu: “…”

While others were speechless, An Rugu seemed to have thought of something and asked, “I heard that you committed suicide because you failed in the exam. Didn’t you study hard after you passed away?”

The image he showed was completely inconsistent with that of a good student.

Exercise book: “…”

Neat words appeared on the exercise book, as if to show his serious attitude: [I did not commit suicide.]

Reading this, An Rugu was surprised. Didn’t this Zhou Keyu commit suicide? Could it be that he was murdered?

Then this matter… was a bit troublesome.

More writing appeared in the exercise book: [I am a dormitory student. I didn’t do well in the exam, and that night I felt a little depressed, so I ran to the rooftop to get some air. The railing here was very low at that time. My foot slipped, my weight went over the railing, and I fell.]

[In short, I didn’t commit suicide, it was an accident…]

[Moreover, I hated studying, so I didn’t read college books in advance.]

Everyone: “…”

Damn, this was completely different from what was reported in the news.

When everyone was still in a daze, An Rugu was the first to come to her senses. Determination flashed in her dark eyes. “Since you didn’t take away their souls, you didn’t make a big mistake. Release your control on them as soon as possible and let them wake up—otherwise, it will not be a good thing for you or them.”

After a while, new text appeared after the last message: [Okay.]

Five minutes later, Zhang Jingyuan calmed down and dialed the phone number of his classmate’s parents. An overjoyed voice came from the other side: “It’s great news! He just woke up.”

Good news also came from Su Kai’s parents. Two people who had been unconscious for many days woke up at the same time, which surprised everyone but also made them very happy.

An Rugu didn’t stay long. She carried the black schoolbag and prepared to leave.

Zhang Xia followed her down the stairs, muttering, “I’m so angry. These brats are really itching for a spanking. You said that students all like to play this kind of game. It’s nonsense. We have never played it in our dormitory.”

Zhang Jingyuan and his roommate had docile smiles on their faces. They knew that they were the ones responsible for this matter, so they did not dare to refute.

An Rugu thought to herself, in fact, divination games like ‘Spirit of the Pen’ were not new to modern times; they have appeared since a long time ago. This kind of game was called fuji or planchette writing and was very popular in ancient times, especially in the Tang Dynasty. Many people have played this divination game over the ages, and Li Shangyin1 was even said to be addicted to it.

Generally, the invited spirits did not harm anyone, but when the yin qi was too strong, other entities would be provoked.

An Rugu specifically warned them, “If you don’t want to provoke unclean things, don’t play this divination game anymore, because you never know what you will end up provoking. It may be a harmless spirit, or it may be a malicious ghost. “

Zhang Jingyuan nodded like a chicken pecking at rice, “I understand, even if you kill me, I won’t play anymore.”

“You guys study hard, you have class tomorrow.”

… …

An Rugu walked the two high school students back to dorm room 201, refused their offer to see them off, and went down the stairs with Zhang Xia and Shang Yue.

Zhang Xia looked at the black schoolbag in An Rugu’s hand and felt a little confused. “What are you going to do with this thing?”

She had just seen clearly that this schoolbag was the true form of the ghost. It was so terrifying.

An Rugu glanced at the schoolbag; she remained silent for a while, not saying anything. She then headed downstairs, turned, and walked to the small office on the first floor.

This was the small office that every dormitory building must have. It was the place where dormitory managers work and rest. The dormitory manager of this boys’ dormitory was an old man with gray hair. He wore reading glasses and was reading the daily newspaper in his hand intently.

For some reason, when An Rugu walked towards the old man, the black schoolbag in her hand moved almost imperceptibly, as if it didn’t dare to get close.

An Rugu knocked on the glass door, then pressed the door handle and pushed open the glass door. She looked at the old man. She placed the thing in her hand on the desk in front of him.

“Master2, this thing… I’m going to take it away.”

When the old man heard this, he suddenly lifted his head and looked at An Rugu, a sharp light flashing in his old eyes.

Zhang Xia stepped up to the glass door and watched this scene play out, full of doubts in her heart. Shang Yue also didn’t know what An Rugu was doing, so she looked at them through the glass curiously.

Under the doubtful eyes of the two people, An Rugu and the old man looked at each other for a long time. In the end, the old man sagged, seeming to have lost his strength; he looked away, lowered his head, and said with a dejected look, “It’s up to you.”

Afterwards, An Rugu picked up the black schoolbag, opened the glass door and walked out.

Until they walked out of the dormitory building, Zhang Xia and Shang Yue still didn’t understand what happened.

Zhang Xia asked curiously, “What kind of riddle did you just play with the dormitory grandpa?”

An Rugu lowered her head to look at the black schoolbag and sighed softly, “The shed upstairs is where the dormitory keeps its discarded items, but this schoolbag was properly placed in the iron box, and the contents inside were not touched. Logically speaking, this relic is very inauspicious.

“But the old gentleman did not throw it away, instead he kept it well, so there must be a relationship between them.

“He’s your grandfather, right? “

She posed a question, but her tone was very firm, and she had said it to the black schoolbag.

Zhang Xia and Shang Yue: “!!!”

T/N: Planchette writing is a manner of invoking ‘spirits’ to supposedly write down answers using tools that can be moved by such entities, such as the ouija board. In ancient Chinese times, they used  扶乩 fuji, wherein a wooden tool is hovered over a tray filled with sand and Chinese characters are written as the sand as the spirit supposedly moves it.
