[I heard the predestined person say that she wanted to call the police. I thought she was arresting the mistress, but I didn’t expect that she was reporting her daughter for money laundering. It was so brazenly cruel that I fell in love with her.]
[Smart! The mistress’ expectations were placed almost entirely on her illegitimate daughter. After destroying the illegitimate daughter, the mistress is also broken without even needing to attack.]
[Oh, I see. It turns out her daughter is laundering money by spending money lavishly and getting the decimal point wrong. The predestined person had never doubted it before, but now after thinking about it, she has figured it out.]
[The guests are policemen. Are you surprised or surprised?]
[If you have the talent, you can participate in the prison’s art performance, which can be regarded as another form of banquet.]
[There are many talented people in the prison and they are nice to talk to. You will like them very much.]
When Li Xiaomin saw what was happening, she realized her money laundering had been exposed, so she knelt down with an audible ‘thud’ and said, “Mom, please spare me. I really didn’t want to do this, I was simply obssessed for a while. But I didn’t intend to launder money. “
To be honest, her money laundering methods were not clever at all. The moment she came under investigation, clear and conclusive evidence could easily be found, so she could only beg her mother not to report her. Her mother should know the basics. As the saying went, a family’s shame should not be exposed to the public, so of course her mother would definitely help her.
However, <Warm Up Wine and Make Tea> merely glanced at her ‘daughter’ kneeling on the ground, her eyes full of indifference. “Don’t call me ‘mom’, you don’t deserve to. I think you insult the title of ‘mom’. When I hear you say it, I feel cold all over. You know better than me who your mother is, so go ahead and call her ‘mother’.”
Hearing this, they all understood.
Li Xiaomin suddenly raised her head to look at <Warm Up Wine and Make Tea>, deep fear flashing in her eyes.
No!! The other party knew everything!
If she knew Li Xiaomin’s identity, then she also knew that her real daughter had been replaced.
Her identity as the illegitimate daughter who occupied the magpie’s nest would be exposed, she would lose her status as a daughter of a wealthy family, and she would be ridiculed by those playmates who only have eyes for those above their heads!
Twenty years of planning just went down the drain, and the middle-aged woman next to Lin Xioamin didn’t dare to accept the consequences. Her eyes turned dark.
The glory and wealth she had dreamed of for twenty years were all gone!
She gritted her teeth, “How did you know?”
<Warm Up Wine and Make Tea> glanced at the middle-aged woman, suspicion and disdain flashing in her eyes. “You dared to do such a thing—I thought you were very brave. But looking at you now, you’re nothing more than this.”
When the middle-aged woman heard this, she felt as if she had been stabbed in the foot, and she revealed her true face, a deep jealousy flashing in her eyes. When she replied, her tone was smooth, “I used to think you were very powerful, so you could capture his heart. But you have treasured my daughter for so many years, not your own. You have such a bad eye.”
<Warm Up Wine and Make Tea> smiled coldly, “It’s better to have a bad eye than a bad heart. At least if you have a bad eye, you don’t have to go to jail. Having misappropriated so much money—let me think… Well, at least twenty years in prison, I should say.”
The middle-aged woman choked with fear. She always thought that she hid matters well and never thought that she would fall to this point.
She couldn’t accept it at all. Her fear and anger made her impulsive and she rushed towards <Warm Up Wine and Make Tea> like crazy.
Kill her, kill her and everything will be fine! ! !
However, the policeman standing nearby saw her violent outburst. He quickly grabbed the middle-aged woman’s arm, pushed her against the wall, and handcuffed her in one move. He controlled her and reprimanded, “Why are you going crazy!”
<Warm Up Wine and Make Tea> looked at her in pure condescension, as if she was mocking her for overestimating her abilities.
She had overheard the middle-aged woman’s plan to seduce her husband before and deliberately poked her wound, “You actually want to seduce him? With your current embarrassing appearance? Your plan to be a rich wife is doomed to fail.”
The middle-aged woman was completely broken. She did so much just to get that man, the status and wealth.
There was nothing now!
She shrieked, spitting out swear words.
She thought that <Warm Up Wine and Make Tea> would get angry and rush to beat her, and then they could go to jail together. However, <Warm Up Wine and Make Tea> only smiled and looked through her mobile phone, as if she was admiring her ugliness—and did nothing.
Suddenly, the middle-aged woman’s eyes fell on the other person’s mobile phone. Her eyes were red to the point of bleeding, and she suddenly realized—this woman was actually filming!
It meant that <Warm Up Wine and Make Tea> deliberately set them up, ignoring the company’s reputation, even Li Xiaomin’s. She didn’t let it stop her.
She was so cruel!

T/N: ‘The dove occupying the magpie’s nest’ is a phrase you’d often see when you read ‘switched at birth’ stories. But it’s actually the cuckoo bird—not the dove or even the turtledove—that doesn’t build its own nest and instead just lays its eggs on another bird’s carefully constructed nest. The worst part is that cuckoo bird eggs hatch earlier than other birds’, so the cuckoo hatchling pushes the other eggs/smaller hatchlings off the nest so it could enjoy its adoptive parents full care and attention. Ain’t nature grand?
This—and Broken Engagement—is my favorite trope to read in c-novels. I love the very many ways the authors resolve the exact same premise: when two daughters are switched at birth.
