[ILivestreamDivination] Chapter 2.3 — The First Livestream

Calculating the time, it seemed that An Rugu had only just quoted the price and this <Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> immediately clicked on the interface to tip the reward.

The audience in the livestream saw that the person was so decisive towards An Rugu—who had just begun her first stream—and said: [Boss is confused!]

[<Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> : It’s okay, it’s just a small amount of money.]

Seeing that <Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water>’s tone was so rich, and the gender shown on the personal information was female, the audience immediately swiped their screens: [Rich woman, I’m a fan, I’m a fan.]

[I also want a little money.]

An Rugu didn’t bother with the other comments and asked directly, “What do you want to know?”

[<Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> : I want to calculate when is the right time to get married this month?]

[The rich lady sister is actually getting married, I have no chance, woo woo woo.]

[I’m not here to break up the family of the rich lady, I’m here to join the family.]

“Are you in such a hurry?” An Rugu said, “This month will be over soon.”

[<Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> : That is so. But I think it will be settled this month. You add me, and I will send you my eight characters.1]

<Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> obviously knows the process of divination, so she was ready to send her eight characters, but An Rugu didn’t immediately agree.

Instead, she said, “No need to send me your eight characters. I am good at reading faces, and I can just calculate your eight characters when it becomes necessary. Is it convenient for you to take a video call? If it’s not convenient, it’s also okay to post a photo of yourself.”

<Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> was not afraid of appearing on camera, so she replied directly: [I happen to be at home, add me as a friend, and then call me on WeChat.]

“No need, I’ll just invite you to a video call in the livestream.”

She has studied the livestream features of the Shark platform before, and the livestream host can invite users of the platform for a video chat.

An Rugu clicked on <Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water>’s user profile with the mouse, then clicked the ‘Invite To Video Call’ button.

The livestream display window was immediately split into two—with An Rugu on the right and the video call interface on the left.

When the person on the other end picked up the call, a woman in her thirties or forties appeared on the other half of the screen.

She had a beautiful and generous appearance, wearing a long, red dress, her hair was curly and wavy. There were some wrinkles at the corners of her eyes, but it didn’t affect her temperament at all. She looked very eye-catching at first glance.

[Damn, this rich woman is a bit pretty.]

[Sister, don’t be so stuck on gender.]

“You are looking for a suitable date for your wedding, right?” An Rugu said.

“Yes.” <Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> nodded, and in order to provide An Rugu with information and make her calculate quickly, she directly reported her date of birth.

In fact, <Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> didn’t really take this too seriously—she just thought that An Rugu was pretty and suited her eyes very well. She had really wanted to calculate an auspicious date of marriage before, but there was no suitable person around at the time so she just let it be. Right now, she only had the idea of aiding someone who was struggling and so decided to help this little streamer on a whim.

[I did the math, the rich woman seems to be thirty-seven years old this year, but I can’t tell at all, I thought she was only thirty.]

[Maybe it’s because she’s getting married, people feel refreshed on happy occasions, congratulations! It’s a pity that there’s another bowl of soft rice2 in the world. ]

From the corner of her eyes, the woman glanced at the barrage in the livestream, and when she saw others praising her for being young, and congratulating her on her marriage, the smile on her face became a little more sincere. “I was single for several years before I met someone who got along well with me. Don’t worry, it will happen to you all, too.”

When she talked about her boyfriend, her heart was as sweet as honey, and her face was full of joy. Anyone with a discerning eye could see that she and her boyfriend had a very good relationship.

However, just when the livestream viewers were enjoying themselves, a voice suddenly interrupted their lively conversation.

An Rugu looked at <Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water>’s face and her beautiful brows furrowed into a small frown. When she spoke, her voice was as cool as the wind blowing through the trees, but what she said was earth-shattering: “You are not suitable for marriage.”

<Time Passes Swiftly Like Flowing Water> : “???”

The audience in the livestream channel: “???”

  1. The Four Pillars of Destiny or ‘Ba Zi’—which means ‘8 characters’ or ‘8 words’—is a divination concept that a person’s fate can be calculated through their birth year, month, day, and hour. You see this a lot in Historical Romance c-novels—sometimes translated as ‘horoscope’—because giving of the ba-zi and checking for compatibility are parts of the 6 traditional wedding rites. ↩︎
  2. When a man of ordinary means marries a rich woman, he is said to eat ‘soft rice’. ↩︎
