[DayTheEngagementWasBroken] Chapter 18.2 — Don’t Tell Me That You Lost Her

Gou An hid inside a random private box, took out her cell phone, and watched the livestream posted in one of her group chats. She realized that this might not be a good time to talk nonsense.

Something really happened downstairs.

The ins and outs of the story was that a security manager of Endless Night—

Gou An: “It probably means the head of security.”

—was so bold that under instructions of his immediate superior and using capital provided to him, he ran to an underground casino in another area called Huian Road just outside the Zhaipu District downtown, made millions, and ended up smashing the place.

Every wrong has its perpetrator, every debt has its creditor1. The casino was opened by Jiang Yi, the third son of the Jiang family. The Jiang family originally started its business in chaos, and even today, it cannot be said that they run a completely legitimate business. Even the cubs of this generation have not learned well…

Opening nightclubs, running casinos, playing in motorcycle clubs, doing all kinds of unruly things.

Gou An: “Wait. Excuse me, but this background introduction is terrible. Will the Jiang family also have Lu Wan as an honored guest in the future? Let’s talk about quality in writing. Is this summary really okay?”

[Jiao Jiao: No, I guess it was just product placement by the author to lay the background for the hero in the next book. ]

Gou An: “Ah, okay, you scared me to death, you can continue now.”

Jiang Yi, the third son of the Jiang family, opened the casino to make money, not for charity. Now, Endless Night’s security manager has done such a thing and caused him not only to lose money but also to lose face. The Jiang family certainly could not swallow this insult.

So he chose today—a big holiday when Endless Night was in full capacity—as a good chance to spoil the place.

Who knew if those Young and Dangerous guys could get triple compensation when they fight on National Day?

Anyway, they were all working hard today.

In just half an hour, the unprepared Endless Night was thrown into chaos.

There was indeed chaos down there right now. People from Hui’an Road were searching all over the place for the security manager. During this process, they bullied some waiters and messed things up. Anyway, they have done everything they could to disrupt Endless Night’s business…

He Ran and his second-generation rich friends had received news about this long ago and left the place early. In the chaos, only Gou An was left behind.

This ending was not surprising at all.

She was just a female supporting role.

[Jiaojiao: I just checked here and found that the riot in the original work was just a passing plot background. The male protagonist (He Jinxing) had already taken the female protagonist (Lu Wan) away, and the male supporting actor (He Ran) spent time looking for her. After a while, he couldn’t find the heroine, thought that something happened to her, so he made a fuss at the police station. The next day he went to the heroine’s house in a hurry…]

[Jiaojiao: After that, there will be a follow-up emotional entanglement plot.]

Gou An: “The female supporting character didn’t die in a fight here tonight, right?”

[Jiaojiao:…]

[Jiaojiao: How can you go to jail later if you just die here like that?]

Gou An high-fived: “Yeah, I still have to live so I can go to prison! I’m so happy.”

She rolled her eyes and closed the chat group where people were still frantically scrolling through the screen and watching the gossip, but not a single one thought that ‘Hey, you guys, Gou An is missing’.

She locked the screen of her phone, stood up from her crouch, and walked out of the private box where she was hiding.

Standing on the stairs, she looked down and saw that the second floor was in chaos and everyone was rushing towards the door. She could take the opportunity to follow the crowd and get out.

Gou An went down the stairs to the second floor, and sure enough, everywhere she looked was a mess. The two groups had obviously scuffled, the tables and chairs were not where they should be, glass fragments were everywhere, and amber-colored wine was spilled all over the place. There were popcorn and confetti scattered, and some disco music was still playing…

Some staff members at the scene were screaming and trembling, hiding under the tables. Gou An walked by a table and grabbed a young waitress in passing, muttering “Let’s go, are you waiting to die here?” and stuffed her into the moving crowd.

Passing by a shaky lamp, she stepped over a bad boy who was lying on the ground who holding his bleeding head and moaning in pain. Gou An herself was drunk and could not stand steadily…

In the noisy and hustling crowd, she distinctly felt someone touching her butt.

In this kind of situation, this idiot was still thinking about this kind of stuff. She turned around with black lines on her face and slapped the person with such force that her fingers went numb.

It was at this time that the situation developed for the worse.

“Stop playing around! Find him!”

“Fuck, you all listen to me. If we can’t find your Wolf ge tonight, no one here will be able to escape! All of you will be buried with him!”

“Close the doors!”

“Close the doors!”

The leader of the other party covered his bleeding nose and ordered all the doors to the exit to be closed in a rage. Everyone who had not yet had time to go out felt desperate.

Only then did Miss Gou fully realize the situation she was in and began to feel uneasy. She reflexively wanted to call the police or call someone to come and get her. However, when she touched her pocket, she discovered that she somehow lost her mobile phone in the push and pull of the crowd.

She was like a trapped animal, surrounded by a crowd of people who began to cry and scream.

Her ears were ringing from all the crying.

A few frightened men started shouting and cursing, and then, not surprisingly, they were dragged out from the crowd and beaten, as a warning to the monkeys2.

Two or three people were pushed to the ground, with blood splattering everywhere. Miss Gou was so frightened that she woke up from her drunkenness, and finally started to be really afraid.

The crowd scattered, and Gou An had no choice but to follow the stairs back to the third floor—

That group of people hadn’t had time to go up to the third floor yet. Maybe she could find another safe way out from the third floor or even climb down the drainage pipe outside the window.

She sincerely prayed that everything would go as she planned.

Returning to the third floor, she followed her memory and searched for the location of the private box closest to the drainage pipe she had seen on the outside of the building.

As expected, this floor was still empty at this time. In order to walk more quietly, she kicked off her lambskin-soled boots and quickly shuttled like ghost between the middle and back private boxes on her bare feet.

She stretched her head from window to window to see if there was any possibility of escape.

In one of the private boxes—probably the second to the last one—she opened the door and saw lights from the windows coming from the street outside. Police sirens were blaring and neon lights were flashing. Her eyes lit up as if she has seen hope!

She quickly approached and opened the window using all her strength. When she stretched her head, she saw that there were indeed many police cars parked below…

Surrounding the police cars were people escaping, shouting loudly to find their friends and companions.

Amidst the crowd, Gou An saw He Ran.

Young Master He has a tall and straight figure, so conspicuous even among the crowd.

At this moment, he was pulling along a person through the crowd. He walked very fast and didn’t care that the girl whose hand he was holding stumbled, struggling against the push of the crowd.
