[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 31.2 — Stay in the Same Room

Qin Moling brought over two cups of water and gave her one.

Her stomach couldn’t bear to drink too much coffee, so he drank plain water with her.

Jian Hang took the paper cup and thanked him.

It has been too long since they’ve seen each other, and even if they called each other from time to time, they still felt unfamiliar with each other.

On the way to Santorini, she and Qin Moling exchanged less than twenty sentences in total. Meeting each other face to face like this, it seemed it was still better to chat casually on the phone.

Except for eating and sleeping, Jian Hang was busy with work.

Qin Moling was the same as her.

Secretary Gao booked two rooms for them in a romantic hotel in the town of Oia. The two bodyguards who accompanied them stayed in the room across the corridor, and she and Qin Moling would stay in the same room.

Everything about the room was very good except that—it only had one bed.

Secretary Gao didn’t know the real situation between the couple, and Qin Moling didn’t explain clearly either.

The bed was extra large, big enough for two people to sleep on both sides without touching each other.

But sleeping in the same bed—just thinking about it, there was an indescribable flavor.

Jian Hang planned to ask the hotel for more quilts; she would sleep on the sofa.

The town was particularly beautiful in the evening. Jian Hang put on a white, thin-strapped dress and said, “I’m going to go shopping nearby.”

Qin Moling was processing emails on his laptop. He raised his head, and his eyes stopped on her pale neck for a few seconds and then fell on her slender arms.

He fell into a daze for a brief moment, then he nodded. He had no intention of accompanying her, “Come back soon.” He arranged for a bodyguard to accompany her out.

Qin Moling still remembered the dinner he owed her and planned to treat her to one tonight. He needed to go and discuss the dishes with the restaurant owner later; he had no time to walk around with her.

After Jian Hang went out, Qin Moling turned off the laptop, changed his clothes and went to the restaurant.

… …

This was the second time for Jian Hang to come to Oia. She stayed here last time for two days of vacation and enjoyed the sunset. She didn’t join the tourists watching the sunset today anymore.

She walked slowly along the main road, taking a few photos and posting them on WeChat Moments, mainly to show to her parents and grandparents.

Soon someone liked and left a message in her circle of friends, and she clicked on it.

It was Tan Feng: [Are you also in Oia now??!]

This was the first time since she had known Tan Feng that she’s seen him use two question marks and an exclamation point.

But it really was incredible to meet an acquaintance in a small tourist spot abroad.

Unexpectedly, he also came to Santorini with his cousin to relax.

Before Jian Hang could reply, Tan Feng already called her and asked, “When did you arrive?”

“Half an hour ago.” Jian Hang smiled, “What a coincidence.”

Tan Jie also smiled, “Isn’t it?”

There was a lot of noise on his side, and Jian Hang guessed that he was watching the sunset.

The town was not big, and they happened to meet each other abroad. Jian Hang invited, “Should we have dinner together tonight?”

“No problem. My cousin and I have reserved a table. It’s big enough for four people.”

Jian Hang said, “Qin Moling is still working overtime. Let me ask him when he will finish.”

Her marriage to Qin Moling was gradually getting on the right track. If given the opportunity, she was naturally willing to take him to get to know her friends.

He and Tan Feng could also chat together. They seemed to have a good chat at her house that time.

After hanging up Tan Feng’s call, Jian Hang sent a message to Qin Moling: [Tan Feng and his cousin are also in Oia. I’ll treat them to a meal tonight. Are you free to join us?]

At this time, Qin Moling was confirming the dishes with the restaurant owner. He had contacted the owner through an acquaintance half a month ago. For this dinner, many ingredients were flown in from other countries.

He also booked a violin performance.

Qin Moling wanted to tell her to come back, but even if she came back to have dinner with him, the original surprise would already be ruined, and there would more or less be regrets.

He told the restaurant owner to postpone the dinner until tomorrow night.

After a few seconds spent calming his emotions, he replied: [You guys eat, I have an overseas video conference.]

Jian Hang understood, [Then you have a meeting. What will you eat? I can have something packed and take it back for you.]

[No, you eat, I’ll ask the hotel to deliver some food.]

Jian Hang put away her phone and went to find the restaurant Tan Feng had booked.

The last rays of the setting sun faded away, and the tourists watching the sunset gradually dispersed.

Jian Hang waited in the restaurant for half an hour. Tan Feng and his cousin arrived late.

She had seen photos of his cousin in Tan Feng’s Moments, and she was not unfamiliar when she saw her in person.

“I’m sorry to keep you waiting for so long,” Tan Feng apologized before sitting down.

Jian Hang smiled, “The night view is beautiful. You guys came here before I could see enough of it.”

This was an open-air restaurant with a breathtaking view of the endless coastline.

Without waiting for Tan Feng’s introduction, his cousin took the initiative to greet Jian Hang.

She often heard her cousin talk about Jian Hang’s father, and occasionally he also mentioned Jian Hang. Jian Hang never posted selfies in her circle of friends. She didn’t know what Jian Hang looked like, but her cousin said she looked good.

She finally saw Jian Hang today. She seriously suspected that there was something wrong with her cousin’s eyes. Jian Hang’s appearance was clearly of the best quality, but he just said she looked good.

She basically didn’t understand the topics Jian Hang talked about with her cousin and was really not interested in them. She entertained herself by taking beautiful photos and posting them on her blog.

Jian Hang asked Tan Feng, “You have rested for so long, have you decided where to go? Or do you plan to start a new business on your own?”

Tan Feng has never thought about working alone. He has no family background; if he wanted to achieve some results in the financial venture circle by working alone, he had to rely on luck. And relying on luck was similar to trusting to fate, so he never thought about it.

“I haven’t rested enough yet. Let’s talk about it after the summer.”

They ate this meal for more than two hours and chatted happily.

Tan Feng was about to send Jian Hang back after the meal, “Where are you staying?”

“No need to walk me back.” Jian Hang pointed to the tall man by the roadside, standing not too far from them, “Qin Moling sent a bodyguard with me.”

“Then call me when you return to China,” Tan Feng said.

They separated at the door of the restaurant.

  1. Oof, I guess this could possibly be called tit for tat? Either way it still sucks to have dinner plans postponed. Perhaps you should set up a proper appointment for dinner? Just a, I would like dinner with you tonight/tomorrow/whichever-day the-surprise-was-planned.
