[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 24.1 — Give Her Flowers

In the elevator, except for Qin Xing and Jiang Shenghe, everyone else was stunned. No one expected Qin Moling to suddenly squeeze out of the elevator to stay with Jian Hang. He had been on his way to take the elevator directly downstairs by himself, which was normal.

They knew very well what the marriage situation was between Qin Moling and Jian Hang.

With Qin Moling’s character, it was impossible for him to lower his posture voluntarily, let alone in front of people like them.

Qin Xing, however, was not surprised, and he took it upon himself to clarify that the marriage between his older cousin and Jian Hang was not as the rumors outside said: that Jian Hang relied on this marriage to cross social classes.

“My brother wanted to invite my sister-in-law to an art exhibition some time ago, but didn’t know how so I had to help.”

There was a burst of laughter in the elevator.

They had seen Qin Xing’s eloquent mouth at work before—they knew him well. It was hard for them to tell whether Qin Moling had really wanted to invite Jian Hang to the art exhibition or not.

But everyone could tell that Qin Xing was protecting Jian Hang.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Shenghe also echoed Qin Xing. “He even went to the hospital at four o’clock in the morning to accompany Jian Hang. Driving around running errands for her, he can really do this.”

As soon as these words came out, they were as surprised as when Qin Moling squeezed out of the elevator just now.

Jiang Shenghe never talked about other people’s feelings. They have known him for many years, but to say that he would defend them in public—even they may not have such honor.

Even for Qin Moling himself, Jiang Shenghe wouldn’t necessarily bother to defend him. For him, it was being gracious enough if he didn’t add insult to injury—but he defended Jian Hang.

Then they remembered that Jian Hang’s mother was Jiang Shenghe’s primary school teacher.

To them, it didn’t matter how deeply Qin Moling felt about Jian Hang. What mattered was Qin Moling’s attitude towards her.

Qin Moling’s behavior of squeezing out of the elevator today and Jiang Shenghe’s unprecedented protection made them aware that they should treat Jian Hang well any time they met her in the future.

At this time, in front of the elevator doors upstairs.

Jian Hang and Qin Moling stood not too close nor too far apart, and looked like a pair of strangers.

She glanced at Qin Moling and had to admit that this man’s unexpected actions from time to time were very confusing.

For example, when the elevator door was about to close, he pushed past several people and squeezed out of the elevator to stay behind with her.

Another example was the two options he gave her when Zhong Yanfei was making things difficult for her.

Fortunately, she was not easily bewitched.

“Xiao Hang.” A friendly voice came from behind.

Jian Hang turned around following the sound; Qin Moling also turned his head and looked over. It was Qin Moling’s third uncle and third aunt. They were also here to attend the birthday party.

“Third Uncle, Third Aunt, you haven’t left yet,” Jian Hang greeted with a smile.

Third Aunt held the Third Uncle’s arm and said with a smile, “When you meet an acquaintance, you have say a few words so it always takes time to leave.”

The elevator arrived, and they entered one after another chatting all the time.

When Third Uncle saw Qin Moling, he immediately wanted to talk about Le Meng’s situation. He was lucky that with Jian Hang present, his wife would not fail to give him face.

Time was limited, so he went straight to the point, “Is Yu Ming doing the handover?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Third Uncle Qin was hit hard by Third Aunt’s elbow, “Moling is responsible for the company’s affairs. You should worry more about your health than anything else.”

Third Uncle rubbed the place where her elbow hit and frowned at her.

Jian Hang silently turned to look at the numbers on the elevator button. She felt the blow when Third Aunt elbowed Third Uncle just now.

Third Uncle had recently undergone heart surgery and should not be overworked. However, Third Uncle could not let go of Lemeng’s affairs and wanted to continue to manage the company and share some of the burden with Qin Moling. Third Aunt had to threaten him with divorce before he gave up this idea.

Third Aunt lived a carefree life and had no strong desires. This was also the case with Qin Xing’s education. She was not a typical tiger mom like other mothers from their circle.

Among all the juniors in the Qin family, Qin Xing was the last one in terms of studies and career, but he was also the one who led the happiest life.

Jian Hang had been playing games with Qin Xing for four years, and no matter how bad her mood was she could always be cured by Qin Xing’s endless good humor.

… …

The elevator reached the basement.

After saying goodbye, they went to find their cars.

Qin Moling asked Jian Hang, “Will you work overtime in the afternoon?”

Jian Hang asked back, “Do you want to do something with me?”

She understood him better and better now. If he didn’t have anything he wanted to do, he would not take the initiative to ask questions.

Qin Moling didn’t answer the question, “I’ll drive your car back.”

He didn’t drink at noon today, so he reached out and asked her for the car keys.

Jian Hang thought he had something to talk to her about, so she found the car keys from her bag and threw them to him.

The two of them walked to the car one after the other.

Was he going to talk to her about Wanyue Group’s project or their marriage?

Sitting on the passenger seat, Jian Hang tugged on her seat belt and buckled it on.

Qin Moling first adjusted the car seat—but after adjusting it, he still didn’t start the car or fasten his seat belt.

The car was too quiet, and the sound of Jian Hang opening her bag and taking out her cell phone was amplified several times.

This was the only sound in the narrow space.
