[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 21.2 — Move to the Villa

Anyway, Han Shuang didn’t lose anything, and Zhong Yanfei would still be used by her in many instances in the future. Now, Zhong Yanfei even owed her a favor. When she needed to use her in the future, Zhong Yanfei would not be able to refuse.

It was only that Zhong Yanfei would rather please her and lose so much just to cause trouble for Jian Hang—Han Shuang didn’t understand.

Han Shuang picked up the wine glass and took a sip, “Jian Hang has good business skills and high market sensitivity. Whatever emerging industry she decides to invest in, will eventually explode. I heard that she is also good at mergers and acquisitions. She has taken on several cross-border m&a projects and has excellent risk control skills. She is very capable. If your Wanyue Group cooperates with her in this project, the m&a should go smoothly.”

“Jian Hang is indeed remarkable, but…” Zhong Yanfei didn’t want to mention the details. After all, it involved her sister Zhong Yanyue’s pride and face. It has already been two years since that scumbag broke up with her but she still couldn’t get over it. The fewer people who know about certain things, the better.

She could only say helplessly, “It’s hard to explain in words.”

Han Shuang left it at that. She had no intention of prying into other people’s privacy.

After eating the liangpi noodles, Han Shuang picked up the cigarette case on the table and put it into her bag, “I won’t delay you anymore; you and Jian Hang discuss the project, and we will meet again another day.”

She added another casual sentence, “Thank you for the liangpi.”

… …

Zhong Yanfei sent Han Shuang off,  and everyone in the private room also breathed a sigh of relief.

Tonight, Zhong Yanfei also called some of her best friends to accompany Han Shuang and play mahjong with her.

Her best friend slapped her shoulder, “Han Shuang is really difficult to take care of ah.”

Zhong Yanfei put a cigarette in her mouth, lit it, and took a deep breath before speaking, “If you are lucky, you will be reincarnated as her.” Who told the Han family to be at the top of the pyramid of money and power?

Her best friend reminded Zhong Yanfei, “If Jian Hang and Qin Moling stay together for another day, that’s another day she’s part of the Qin family. When you pick a fight with her, take it easy.”

“The matter is very clear. Even if the Qin family finds out, the fault won’t be on me. I have a big client, Han Shuang, to take care of, and I couldn’t leave. What else could I do? Besides, didn’t I give Jian Hang the option to go back early? She was the one who didn’t leave on her own. What can I do?”

Her best friend looked at her watch, “It’s been hours. Come on, why don’t you let Jian Hang come over?”

“Don’t hurry, I haven’t finished eating my liangpi noodles yet.”

Zhong Yanfei smiled and ended the topic.

While they were eating their liangpi, Qin Moling’s driver had already called the club manager, who informed him in detail who was in the private room.

The driver had a good memory and told Qin Moling every name.

These people were all familiar to Qin Moling. Except for Han Shuang, they were all Zhong Yanfei’s best friends.

He knew that no matter what line of work, it was common for people to take projects from others and be manipulated by others. This was not surprising.

But the person being targeted could not be Jian Hang.

If Jian Hang wanted to have a late-night snack in the middle of the night, Qin Moling would go and buy it for her. This person didn’t even give Jian Hang face.

“Older brother, play your cards,” Qin Xing, who was sitting next to him, couldn’t help but remind him.

Qin Moling pulled out a card at random and threw it out. The next moment he sent a message to Jian Hang: [How many times has Zhong Yanfei made things difficult for you?]

Jian Hang was surprised that this plastic husband of hers learned the whole story so quickly. She replied: [This is the second time. ]

Zhong Yanfei did not meet with her at the Wanyue Group Building that time even though they had an appointment.

She added: [Maybe Zhong Yanfei wants to give the project to another intermediary agency.]

Qin Moling didn’t care about this. If Zhong Yanfei wanted to give this project to other people, then she could rely on her own ability to convince Wanyue’s Board of Directors to cooperate with those people. There was no need to make things difficult for Jian Hang.

[Didn’t you know I was in the club? Why didn’t you tell me you’ve been made to wait for so long?]

Jian Hang never thought of asking him for help. As he said earlier, they were not familiar with each other yet. Also, this was the company’s business, so she had no reason to trouble him.

Qin Moling knew her concerns and directly expressed his attitude: [If you encounter difficult problems at work in the future, please come to me directly. It won’t bother me, and sometimes it’s just a matter of a few words from me.]

Before Jian Hang could say ‘thank you’, he sent another message: [How do you want to vent your anger?]

He misunderstood. Jian Hang hurriedly replied: [Don’t help me vent my anger. I want to win the project. You can just help me get my foot in and I’ll see where the problem lies.]

Looking at the explanation she gave, she felt funny.

She and Qin Moling had two completely different reactions on the same matter.

He had the confidence and background, so he didn’t bother worrying about anything else and chose to vent his anger first.

For worker bees like her, swallowing one’s anger has long been a necessary life skill. She didn’t want to offend big clients—she couldn’t afford to.

Qin Moling sent another message: [1. Get the project. 2. Vent your anger and get the project. Choose one.]

What a rare species this man was, to be so considerate of her.

No matter how stupid she was, she still knew which option to choose.

Jian Hang: [2]

She confirmed with Qin Moling: [Should I wait here at the club, or should I go back and wait for your news?]

Qin Moling: [Zhong Yanfei will call you in a few days. Whether you answer or not depends on your mood. Even if you don’t answer, she will still give you the project.]

Jian Hang felt a little moved in her heart. Ever since she went to study abroad at the end of junior high, she has gotten used to standing alone and solving problems by herself because no one had ever stood with her and solved problems for her unconditionally.

[Thanks. I owe you a favor.]

Qin Moling didn’t want her to have any psychological burden and knew that she didn’t like to owe favors, so he replied to her: [You’re welcome. Didn’t you help me earlier too?]

The ‘help’ he was talking about was her agreeing to tell his grandparents that she wished to postpone having their wedding. This could not be considered a ‘help’ at all. It was a piece of cake for her.

Even if she didn’t ‘help’, if he didn’t want to hold a wedding for the time being, his grandparents couldn’t force him to have one.

It was just that if she was the one to tell the elders she didn’t want to have the wedding yet, then it would be hard for them to argue. And out of consideration for her feelings, they won’t keep urging them anymore.

Jian Hang: [What I did was a trivial favor. That’s different.]

Qin Moling: [It’s no different.]

He added: [Go back and rest early, it is too late today. Move in another day.]

  1. Wait, what does this have to do with Zhong Yanyue and her “scumbag” ex? Did he chase MC too?

I guess it makes more sense now, but still. Hate it.

Also, great! Time to trouble Zhong Yanfei! I’m glad he consulted her first too in order to let her choose what she wanted.
