[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 44.2 — Day 15: From Now On… You Can Come In Directly

The two walked into the living room one after the other. Ji Chaozhou put the bottle of perfume into the cabinet. When he closed the cabinet door, he paused, his hands still hanging in the air, and stood there with his eyes lowered for a moment—before finally turning away.

“I’ll sleep in the same guest room?” Cheng Liu asked him, standing in the middle of the living room.

Ji Chaozhou turned his face away, “Yeah.”

She had obviously stayed here before, but now that she was here again, he felt a little uncomfortable.

Cheng Liu carried her black bag and took the initiative to go to the guest room on the first floor. She had stuffed a set of clothes into the bag and took it out now to take a shower.

However, she forgot to bring bath supplies.

Cheng Liu walked out of the guest room, intending to go back to the villa next door to get it, but when she saw Ji Chaozhou sitting on the sofa with his eyes lowered to the book he was reading, she suddenly changed her mind, “Can you lend me the shower gel you use?”

She said this frankly, not realizing how ambiguous her words were.

Ji Chaozhou, however, was stunned, “…what?”

“When I was in Wenxing Community before, I thought the shower gel you use smelled very good.” Cheng Liu said seriously, “I have always wanted to buy the same scent, but I couldn’t find it.”

Ji Chaozhou’s fingertips unconsciously curled on itself, wrinkling a page of the book on his lap. His expression remained unchanged, “I mixed the scent myself.”

“Oh.” Cheng Liu whispered, “No wonder it’s so special. “

The decoration team next door had left early, and there was no other noise around. Ji Chaozhou could hear her words clearly, and he felt a sharp burning sensation in his chest, mixed with unknown panic.

Ji Chaozhou’s long eyelashes drooped down, casting shadows on the tall bridge of his nose, completely covering up the emotions in his amber eyes.

He closed the book and stood up, his expression still unchanged and his tone calm, “I have an extra bottle, I can give it to you.”

Cheng Liu was immediately happy and trotted after him. He watched Ji Chaozhou take out a plain white bottle. There was no label of any kind printed on it.

Ji Chaozhou handed Cheng Liu the bath fragrance he mixed himself and turned his face away from her.

She took it, and opened the cap and smelled it. It smelled like bitter coffee, but something else must have been added to neutralize the bitterness of real coffee. “The blend smells better than the ones sold outside,” she said honestly.

“Is this one developed as a Ranshan product?” Cheng Liu asked, inspecting the plain bottle.

She had never paid attention to this kind of thing before. She usually bought things randomly in the supermarket, picking up whichever one was closest to her.

… They were standing too close to each other.

Ji Chaozhou calmly took a step back and widened the distance between them. “No,” he finally replied.

Cheng Liu raised her head, a faint smile in her eyes, and lightly shook the plain white bottle in her hand, “Then this is a scent that belongs to only one person.”

She was always so straightforward.

But… Ji Chaozhou never once found Cheng Liu boring.

“I’ll go ahead,” Cheng Liu turned around on her own initiative and went to the bathroom with her new shower gel.

Ji Chaozhou leaned against the cabinet and watched Cheng Liu leave. His stiff back slowly relaxed, and the fingers hanging by his side that had curled into fists gradually loosened.

A short time later, Ji Chaozhou regretted giving Cheng Liu the bottle of bath fragrance he had prepared himself.

Because after bathing, both of them now smell of the same bitter coffee scent. And for Ji Chaozhou, this moment when the same scent intertwined on their bodies was extremely ambiguous.

It was obviously the same smell he was used to, but he felt that the presence of the bitter coffee scent on Cheng Liu’s body constantly encroached on his consciousness.

Cheng Liu, who was sitting on the armchair by herself, didn’t notice Ji Chaozhou’s thoughts at all. She had taken out her laptop from her backpack and was quickly responding to emails.

Young President Cheng was seriously annoyed that she was finally in the same room with the person she liked, and she still had things to deal with.

So at this moment, Young President Cheng, with her laptop on her lap, was typing on the keyboard with an expressionless face, and her hands were moving lightning quick.

“Pah!!”

Cheng Liu hit the ‘send’ button hard, and the keyboard made a quick, crisp sound. She immediately closed the laptop and threw it haphazardly on the low table.

The sound of the keyboard clattering in the living room disappeared, and Ji Chaozhou instinctively looked at Cheng Liu, meeting her bright eyes.

Cheng Liu suddenly lowered her head and sniffed at herself, a little confused, “Why does it smell better on you than on me?”

The same went for the previous bottle of Midu. She felt that the smell she used was different from the one on Ji Chaozhou.

The sharp burning feeling became more and more obvious, now mixed with a bit of itching and soreness. Such strong emotions almost made Ji Chaozhou unable to breathe, and his amber pupils—which were always cold and cold—showed not just a hint of ’chaos’ at this time.

Cheng Liu took out her mobile phone and searched for something.

“‘The same scent can be used by different people, and there would be slight differences.’,” she read the highest rated answer out loud. She then looked at Ji Chaozhou and asked, “Is this true?”

Ji Chaozhou lowered his eyes and said, “… Yes.

An argument that went around in the fragrance world suddenly popped up in his mind: If you think a person smells particularly good, it means… you like that person.

Ji Chaozhou stood up suddenly, walked to the bar, his back to Cheng Liu, and put his hands on the countertop—he put aside those messy thoughts.

He was just a little thirsty, that’s all.

Ji Chaozhou took a glass and filled it with ice water. His fingertips holding the glass were hot.

He raised his head and drank, but the cold water still couldn’t suppress the burning feeling.

… …

Cheng Liu sat back and lay against the back of the single-seater sofa. She looked at Ji Chaozhou standing in front of the bar, and then looked at the pot of lily-of-the-valley flowers on the table.

The lilies-of-the-valley were blooming in clusters, but they always lowered their heads, as if avoiding the gaze of those around them. Even so, others could still see its pure white and clean flowers.

This person—he was a bit like this flower.
