[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 19.2 — Buy Her Midnight Snack

Qin Moling thought of the first time he went to her office. She must have been playing games at that time as well. “You spend your rest times playing games?”

Jian Hang nodded, “Besides playing games, there is nothing else to do.”

Qin Moling said, “Go shopping with friends.”

“Both my best friends are abroad.”

Qin Moling remembered that she went to study abroad after graduating from junior high school.

In the headphones, Lin Xiao was still yelling.

Jian Hang: [I have been in seclusion for a long time, so I am a bit sloppy.]

Lin Xiao believed her lie, “One more?”

[No, I have something going on.]

She quit the game.

She really felt dizzy while playing games just now and felt uncomfortable in her stomach. She urgently needed something to eat to calm it down.

Jian Hang asked Qin Moling for help, “Can you help me buy some food?”

“Doesn’t playing games make you full?”

“… it doesn’t make me full,” Jian Hang still begged and didn’t bother arguing with him.

Qin Moling clicked on his phone, “What do you want to eat?”

The indulgent atmosphere at this moment could only be found between lovers.

But neither of them realized it.

Qin Moling added, “I’ll place the order first and they can deliver it after dawn.”

Jian Hang couldn’t possibly wait until dawn, “I want to eat it now.”

There was a 24-hour convenience store next to the hospital. It had snacks. Qin Moling planned to go downstairs to buy some.

He asked again, “What do you want to eat?”

Jian Hang thought about it seriously, “Jianbing crepe.”

Qin Moling looked at her. The convenience store didn’t sell this. “Where can I buy jianbing for you in the middle of the night?”

“Go to my grandparents’ store to buy. They go to bed early at night and wake up at 3 o’clock. They open the shop’s door on time at 4 o’clock. If you go over now, there must be someone in the store.”

Qin Moling knew where her grandparents’ shop was from many years ago and it had not moved. “Don’t your grandparents sell liangpi noodles?”

“Mmm, they used to only sell liangpi, but now they also make jianbing crepes, and also sell tea eggs and breakfast milk.”

“…”

She was a patient now—he should take care of her.

After a moment of silence, Qin Moling closed his laptop, picked up his car keys and went out.

Jian Hang watched him leave, the corners of her mouth raised slightly.

Qin Moling drove away from the hospital. The driver left a car at the hospital last night in case he needed it, but he didn’t actually expect to use it.

Jian Hang was afraid that he would forget which street her grandparents’ shop was on, so she sent him the detailed address and store name, and also thoughtfully reminded him to turn on the navigation.

Qin Moling actually had a deep impression of this street, and he didn’t need to use the navigation system.

It usually took about forty minutes to drive from the hospital to that street when there was heavy traffic. Now there were not many cars on the road, it took only ten minutes to get there.

The street was noisy and lively during the day, but now only a few breakfast shops were lit.

Turning into the street, the road was not wide, so Qin Moling had to slow down.

The steamed bun shop on the left was also open. The steamed shrimp dumplings from that shop was very famous in the neighborhood. This shop has been open for more than 20 years and still has the same name as before.

Qin Moling drove forward for several dozen meters, and the words ‘Jianbing Crepes’ came into view.

He pulled over.

In the shop, grandma was chopping coriander, and grandpa was busy making noodles.

Qin Moling walked to the door of the store and called out, “Grandpa, grandma.”

The two old people looked up.

It was still dark, and when they saw Qin Moling at this time, their hearts skipped a beat; they thought something bad had happened to their granddaughter.

After coming back to her senses, grandma put down her work and hurriedly called Qin Moling to sit in the store. She was worried, “Moling, why are you up so early? Is there something wrong?”

“Grandma, everything’s fine. Jian Hang wants to eat the jianbing you made.”

Grandma was visibly relieved.

Qin Moling explained why he came so early, “I just came back from abroad and slept a lot on the plane.”

Grandpa and grandma didn’t know that Jian Hang was hospitalized, so he kept up the lie, “Jian Hang has an overseas video conference at five o’clock. When I bring the jianbing back, she can eat them before the meeting.”

Grandma couldn’t hide her happiness; she was smiling from the corners of her eyes and eyebrows.

She used to worry that her granddaughter and Qin Moling wouldn’t get along and they wouldn’t be able to live well together.

It seemed that all her worry was unnecessary.

She left off cutting the coriander, and she started making jianbing for her granddaughter.

Qin Moling stayed in the store for more than ten minutes, waiting for the piping hot jianbing crepe.

Grandma originally wanted to make some for him too, but she gave up because he insisted he wasn’t hungry.

When leaving, he passed by the steamed bun shop again. There were several empty tables in the shop, and no one had come to have breakfast yet. The heat from the steamer was pouring upwards.

Qin Moling slowed to a stop in front of the steamed bun shop, slid down the window, and called into the shop, “Shop owner, pack an order of steamed shrimp dumplings.”

The shop owner came out and said, “The steamed shrimp dumplings haven’t been made yet. They won’t be available until after five o’clock.”

Qin Moling couldn’t wait that long, “Thank you.” He slid up the car window.
