[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 14.1 — Taking Care of Her

When she arrived at the hospital, Qin Moling got out of the car carrying her laptop bag.

Most of the time, Jian Hang didn’t even remember that Qin Moling was now her husband and naturally classified him as the eldest son of the Qin family, Mr. Qin of Lemeng, who might even be her big customer in the future.

Anyway, no matter which identity she regarded him as, she simply couldn’t take it as given that he was her husband. There always seemed to be a clear dividing line between him and her.

So when he carried her laptop bag for her, her first reaction was, “I don’t want to bother you, I can carry it.”

It was just a stomach ache, and it’s almost all better now; she was not so pretentious that she couldn’t even carry a laptop bag.

Qin Moling walked ahead; Jian Hang took a few steps to catch up and said, “Give it to me.”

He only glanced at her, didn’t respond, and continued towards the emergency room.

That night on Valentine’s Day, he helped her carry the fruits she bought and she also wasn’t able to refuse.

Jian Hang no longer insisted on carrying her laptop bag.

With Qin Moling here, she didn’t have to worry about registration. She just sat in the consultation area and waited for him.

Another doctor was on duty tonight, but he could see in the system what medicine she took last night, and the same medicine was prescribed to her today.

After coming out of the doctor’s office, Qin Moling went to pay the bill.

Jian Hang caught up with him, “I’ll pay it myself.”

Qin Moling looked at her. They were husband and wife; they didn’t need to divide the medical bills so clearly.

He said, “If I hadn’t asked you to drink, you wouldn’t have a stomachache. Just wait for me in the infusion room.”

Ah, he felt responsible for her illness.

Jian Hang half-joked, “Don’t worry, I won’t make you pay for it.” She said, “I have money on my card, so I can just transfer it without paying cash.”

Qin Moling still insisted on paying the fees himself and could not be dissuaded.

Jian Hang couldn’t understand his persistence. Did he not want to owe her?

But it really doesn’t cost much either way, so she just let him pay for it.

She headed to the infusion room.

When inserting the needle, Qin Moling said to the nurse, “Prick the right hand.”

The nurse looked at Jian Hang because she had extended her left hand.

Jian Hang motioned to the nurse, “Just pierce the left hand.” She needed to work overtime—typing, and maybe holding a mouse. If her right hand was pricked, how could she work overtime?

Qin Moling looked at the back of her left hand and said, “Your left hand is green with bruises, can it still be pricked?”

Jian Hang: “…Yes.”

It was the needle puncture from last night. The day has already passed and now there was basically no bruise left. To say that she couldn’t get an injection because of this small bruise was really too much. Even a child would be able to get an injection with only this bruise.

He had obviously never seen someone who had been given intravenous drips for a week and had needle holes all over the back of her hand.

The nurse didn’t expect that this man before her who looked quite cold could be so caring.

There was no need to lie down while she got the infusion. Qin Moling raised the back of her seat, opened her laptop bag for her, took out her notebook, placed the laptop bag on her lap first, and then put the laptop on it.

He didn’t say a word the entire time and only diligently helped her set up.

After doing this, Qin Moling stood up.

Jian Hang’s hand that had a needle stuck through it was obedientl placed on the armrest, and she did not dare make big moves.

She looked up at him, “Thank you.”

From the moment they met until now, he never responded to all the ‘thank you’ she said.

Qin Moling sat down in the empty seat next to her and took out his mobile phone.

Jian Hang turned on the laptop and was distracted for more than ten seconds while waiting for it to start up.

She had gone to study abroad after graduating from junior high school. Since then, she has learned to be independent and take care of herself alone, shouldering all difficulties by herself. She only reported good news to her parents but never the bad news, and she was used to taking care of herself when she was sick.

Later, she became the lead in team projects, so she began taking care of other people in the team.

Even when she returned to China and was so close to her parents, she never told them when she was sick and hospitalized because she didn’t want to trouble them.

She was used to arranging everything herself.

Today, Qin Moling took such good care of her. From registration to payment, including setting up the laptop, he did everything for her. She was a little uncomfortable and suddenly felt like a big, giant baby.

But she thought it was also good to be taken care of by him like this.

It was extremely contradictory.

Jian Hang came to her senses, entered her password, and entered the desktop.

“What time did you go to the hospital last night?”

A slightly terse voice cut in from beside her.

Jian Hang tilted her head and replied, “About two o’clock. I didn’t check the exact time.”

Qin Moling continued to ask, “Did you drive by yourself?”

“No, the security guard drove me over.”

Qin Moling nodded.

He didn’t ask any more questions. Jian Hang logged into her email and entered work mode.

A young couple sat in front of Qin Moling. The girlfriend was getting an infusion and her boyfriend was beside her. The man asked his girlfriend what she wanted to eat.

“Now that I’m feeling better, I want to eat everything.”

“I’ll go out and buy it while you keep an eye on the IV.”

Qin Moling was looking down at his phone, but he could clearly hear the conversation between the couple in front of him.

He suddenly remembered that Jian Hang hadn’t eaten either. He took her directly from the company to the hospital and forgot to ask on the way if she had already eaten.

He looked up at the IV bottle and asked politely, “If you take this medicine on an empty stomach, will it irritate your stomach?”

Jian Hang continued to type with one hand while replying to him, “I ate two pieces of toast to pad my stomach before coming here. It won’t be a problem.”

After a pause, still replying to the email in hand, she said, “I’m not hungry.”

As soon as she finished saying this, Jian Hang suddenly realized something and looked at him, “You haven’t eaten yet, have you?”

Qin Moling only wanted to ask her if she wanted to eat something but somehow the conversation suddenly turned to him.

“I’ll eat when I get home,” he said.

… …

Jian Hang really wasn’t hungry at first, but when she was halfway through IV drip, the smell of someone eating in front of her wafted over, and she suddenly felt hungry.

She planned to treat Qin Moling to a late-night snack after this.

Today, they set up the infusion a little faster and it was over in two hours.

Jian Hang chose a high-end restaurant since she was treating him. Qin Moling thought she wanted to eat, so he agreed.

  1. I hope they run into the Zhong sisters again to clear things up. Because I’m still fuming and my first impulse is to start a fight.

  2. How sad that it’s a new experience for her to feel taken care of. He probably wishes that she would have called him to take her to the hospital
