[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 13.2 — Concern

Jian Hang had an upset stomach and she ate slowly.

As she ate, she inexplicably thought of Qin Moling; she wondered if he was already on his way to Yinlin Capital.

Jian Hang was worried that he would arrive early and she would not yet be back in the office.

After thinking about it, it was better to tell him outright, [“I’m eating out and will be back in the office in twenty minutes at most.”]

The implication was that if he arrived before her, then wait for her.

Qin Moling didn’t reply. He had put his phone on silent mode and was taking a nap.

Jian Hang thought that Qin Moling was driving, and it was inconvenient to reply to her message.

Until Jian Hang came out of the restaurant and returned to the office, she didn’t receive a reply from Qin Moling.

She poured a glass of warm water, took two pills, put them in her mouth, and swallowed them with the warm water.

Knock, knock. There were two knocks on the door, “Olive.”

It was the secretary’s voice.

The last time Qin Moling came to get his wallet, it was also about this time, and it was the same secretary who led him in.

“Come in.” Jian Hang put down her cup and looked up at the door. When she saw the person behind the secretary, she was slightly startled, but she quickly adjusted her expression and smiled at the visitor.

The person who came to deliver the car today was Qin Moling’s secretary, whose surname was Gao. Jian Hang had met her once before.

“Ms. Jian, I parked your car in the basement.” Secretary Gao told her which parking space, stepped forward, and handed over the car key.

“Thank you for you hard work.”

“It’s not hard.”

Just as she was talking, a call came in on Jian Hang’s phone. When she saw that it was her plastic husband’s calling, she answered it.

Qin Moling had just woken up, and when his voice came through the receiver, it was still a little hoarse from sleep, “I just saw your message. Secretary Gao hasn’t arrived yet?”

Jian Hang replied, “She’s here now, in my office.”

Secretary Gao mouthed to Jian Hang, “I’ll head back.”

She pointed to the door, smiled slightly, and left without disturbing Jian Hang’s call.

What Secretary Gao didn’t know was that as soon as she left, Qin Moling ended the call.

After Qin Moling made sure that the car had been returned, he had nothing more to say and directly ended the call. He was not in the habit of asking questions, even if the person on the other end of the phone was Jian Hang.

When Secretary Gao returned to Lemeng, the first thing she did was to report to the boss.

“Mr. Qin, the car has been delivered.”

Qin Moling was looking at the computer, and he said without raising his head, “Okay.”

“Mr. Qin, do you have any other instructions?”

“How was Jian Hang’s health?”

Secretary Gao thought his boss knew about Jian Hang’s intravenous drip, but it seemed he wasn’t clear about it.

Just now in Jian Hang’s office, when Jian Hang answered Qin Moling’s call, she clearly saw needle pricks on the back of Jian Hang’s hand. Her hands were particularly white, and the bruise was especially conspicuous against her skin.

“Ms. Jian should have had an IV drip yesterday. There are still needle bruises on the back of her hand.”

Hearing this, Qin Moling suddenly raised his head. But he ended up not asking anything. Even if he asked, Secretary Gao wouldn’t know the answer. “You can go back to work.”

Jian Hang went to get an IV drip because of the wine he pushed on her. The responsibility was his. It would be unjustifiable if he was not concerned about her.

Qin Moling sent a message: [Didn’t I ask you to call me if you needed something last night?]

Jian Hang: [?]

Qin Moling said directly: [Secretary Gao said that there are needle marks on the back of your hand.]

Jian Hang thought for a moment. She seemed to have answered the phone with her left hand. [It’s okay, my stomach doesn’t hurt now.]

Qin Moling: [Are you going out tonight?]

Jian Hang said truthfully: [The doctor recommended getting another dose.]

Qin Moling has a dinner party to go to, but it was not impossible to postpone it.

He said: [I will take you to the hospital after work.]

Jian Hang politely refused: [No need to trouble you.]

Qin Moling didn’t give Jian Hang another chance to refuse: [I will be downstairs of your building at six o’clock.]

He asked Secretary Gao to turn down the dinner party in the evening.

As for finding an acceptable excuse for his refusal to attend, that was Secretary Gao’s concern.

Secretary Gao throught that not ten minutes ago, her boss asked her about Jian Hang’s physical condition. When he heard that Jian Hang had received an intravenous drip, the boss suddenly raised his head, worry clearly reflected in his eyes.

She was sure that she had read it correctly.

In the evening, before six o’clock, Qin Moling’s car slowly stopped in front of Yinlin’s building.

The driver knew that they had to go to the hospital after this—the boss had told him earlier.

Yesterday, the boss bought coffee, allowed Jian Hang to drink coffee in the car, and even threw the empty coffee cup for Jian Hang. Now, the boss wanted to accompany Jian Hang to the hospital. By this time, the driver didn’t find it strange at all.

Qin Moling opened the car window. He propped his chin with his hand and looked down at his mobile phone, occasionally glancing up at the door of the office building.

It was time to get off work, and there was an endless stream of people passing by the car.

They looked at the luxurious car and then at the person inside the car. For a while, they couldn’t tell whether it was the car that showcased the identity of the owner, or the man sitting inside that made the car seem more prestigious.

Qin Moling waited for ten minutes before Jian Hang came out of the office building with laptop bag in her hand.

As she got closer, he looked away, lowered his eyes to look at his phone, and didn’t look at her again.

He just saw her last night, but it felt like a long time had passed since then.

Jian Hang was used to Qin Moling’s appearance. Even so, when she got in the car, she couldn’t help but look at him more. He was wearing the same black trousers and white shirt as usual.

Maybe it was his aura that made him more attractive.

Qin Moling turned his head and looked at her laptop bag, “Do you still need to work overtime?”

Jian Hang nodded. She didn’t know what was going on with Wanyue Group’s project, but she never went into battle unprepared.

Qin Moling handed her a paper cup, “Drink some.”

Jian Hang didn’t take it, “I won’t drink coffee.”

In her condition, there was no way she could drink coffee.

Qin Moling said, “It’s not coffee, it’s warm water.”

Jian Hang hesitated for a moment and then took it, “Thank you.”

The driver started the car and drove to the hospital.

Jian Hang took a sip of warm water, and Qin Moling took out some documents and began reading. She didn’t disturb him and looked out of the car.

She had to admit that after seeing him in person, the indescribable disappointment she felt at noon was now gone.

  1. with “Don’t worry” “It’s okay” attitude of theirs. I question myself everytime that why did they married.
