The other colleagues in the President’s office came back from the cafeteria one after another, and Luo Qi took the same elevator going up with two of them.
When they got off the elevator, they all saw the boss standing by the front desk with flowers in his hand.
“Chief Jiang, thank you for signing for me.”
Luo Qi didn’t expect that he would send flowers to her again today. This should be to celebrate the first day after getting the marriage certificate.
Jiang Shenghe didn’t respond and gave the flowers to her in front of everyone, “If you receive flowers during work hours, will it affect your work?”
Luo Qi shook her her. “Don’t worry, Chief Jiang, it won’t affect.”
Jiang Shenghe looked at her for a moment longer then turned away.
Xiao Jiang felt that the boss’ last look was particularly complicated. He couldn’t forget her and he couldn’t let go. He could only hold back and endure.
Luo Qi opened the card. The message on it, as before, was just two numbers: 9.26.
Xiao Jiang was about to have a heart attack. Was it possible that more flowers would be sent tomorrow?
If this continued, the boss would only be tortured.
Luo Qi carried the flowers back to her office and put the card in her wallet.
[Thanks.] She sent it to Jiang Shenghe.
Jiang Shenghe was worried that she would have a psychological burden: [I won’t send more flowers tomorrow. This bouquet today is to congratulate you on your promotion. But your next job won’t be easy. If you encounter something uncomfortable, don’t just keep it in your heart.Tell me when you get home.]
He sent another message: [My wish is for everything to go smoothly for you.]
Luo Qi took a screenshot, thought for a few minutes, and replied to him: [I also wish Chief Jiang a good working relationship with the next assistant.]
It was lunch break now, so they sent a few more words to each other that had nothing to do with work.
Jiang Shenghe asked her if she had any plans for the evening. He wanted to stay with her for a while.
Luo Qi: [It’s not an outside engagement. My cousin is having dinner with me tonight at my house. I can work online after.] She could accompany him to work online.
Jiang Shenghe: [It’s alright. You don’t need to work tonight.]
… …
In the afternoon, Qin Moling came without an appointment.
Qin Moling made a special trip to see him. The financial summit opened tomorrow, and a financial reporter wanted to interview Jiang Shenghe after the meeting. He was asked to help ask if Jiang Shenghe would agree. If he agreed, he could give him the outline of the interview.
He heard that Luo Qi was about to be transferred to Ruipu Medical and that she herself took the initiative to apply for the position. Jiang Shenghe must be emotionally frustrated right now—could he still be in the mood to accept an interview?
“The interview will be kept within an hour and a half. If you have time to do it, I will reply ‘yes’ for you.” Qin Moling put the paper outline on his desk. “It’s okay if you don’t have time.”
Jiang Shenghe glanced at the interview outline and saw that there were no personal issues involved from beginning to end. He did not reject professional interviews.
“Does this reporter have a good relationship with you?”
“I don’t know the person. They’re Jian Hang’s deskmate in junior high school.”
Jiang Shenghe should have guessed that this was related to Jian Hang. Other people couldn’t ask Qin Moling to go here himself, and Qin Moling didn’t have the time nor the inclination.
Jiang Shenghe took the interview outline, folded it, and tucked it under the keyboard.
Qin Moling knew from this that he was willing to accept an exclusive interview.
Then he asked him, “When will you take Luo Qi back to Jian Hang’s family for dinner?”
Jiang Shenghe had to hide certain matters. He promised Luo Qi that he would not let others know that they already received the marriage certificate. He would keep his promise and not show off even a little in front of Qin Moling.
He simply said, “Luo Qi will be in Ruipu next month. I won’t have the chance to take her to Teacher Chen’s house again. When I have time, I will visit Teacher Chen by myself.”
Qin Moling tried his best, “How about if Jian Hang asked Luo Qi to have dinner at her house after the National Day holiday. She and Luo Qi get along well.”
Luo Qi was one of Jian Hang’s bridesmaids when they got married, and the two of them were graduates of the same foreign university. They have already made plans to go back to the school when they weren’t busy.
Jiang Shenghe simply looked at Qin Moling, not saying anything.
Qin Moling understood him well. Silence meant not objecting. If something was not suitable, he would directly refuse it.
He’s been sitting there for a long time, yet no one has poured him water or made him coffee.
“Why are you just making me sit here without refreshment? I am also a guest.”
Jiang Shenghe used to entertain guests himself purely for Luo Qi’s sake. Luo Qi had already gotten off work for the day and was about to transfer away. He had no time to make coffee for anyone.
The good reputation he had accumulated in the circle over the past year was not far from complete collapse.
Even though Qin Moling raised this matter, Jiang Shenghe remained indifferent and said, “There are drinks from your company in the refrigerator. Get them yourself.”
Qin Moling: “…”
He got up and planned to go back to the company. Before leaving, he asked, “Will Auntie return to China for the Mid-Autumn Festival?”
“No, Jiang Sixun will take her on vacation.”
“Then where do you plan to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival?”
He and Jiang Shenghe had dinner at Jiang Yueru’s place last year. This year, he married Jian Hang, and things wasn’t the same as it was when he was still single.
Qin Moling sympathized with him, “If you really don’t want to go home and see Uncle Jiang, come to my house.”
Jiang Shenghe said, “No, I will go home that night.”
He also said, “I’m going to Suzhou City the next day.”
But this kind of showing off was a bit too subtle and low-key, and Qin Moling completely missed it.
Instead, he felt sympathy for Jiang Shenghe. He couldn’t catch up with her, so he could only find comfort in going to Luo Qi’s hometown.
“Ah, that’s right,” Qin Moling suddenly remembered. “Pei Shixiao will also attend tomorrow’s financial summit.”
“What’s wrong with him attending?”
“Isn’t it that you don’t want to see him?”
“It’s not that I don’t want to see him. It’s for his own sake, so as not to irritate him.”
Qin Moling: “…”
It seemed that Luo Qi’s rejection stimulated him quite a bit.
Qin Moling left, still speechless.
Jiang Shenghe opened the interview outline and read every question carefully. Time slipped past six-thirty, and he continued working. Luo Yu was going to Luo Qi’s place tonight, and it was not convenient for him to interrupt her day again.

T/N: Don’t forget to check out Qin Moling’s story: Marriage First, Love Later. Right now, it’s late September in Jiang Shenghe’s story. Qin Moling’s is currently set in February of the same year; he and Jian Hang just got marriage certificate and can’t seem to get the hang of it yet, but it’s not for lack of trying.
