[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 5.1 — Borrow Her Car

Qin Moling didn’t have a car to go home. He asked the driver, whom he’d already given the day off, to pick him up. The driver said he would have to wait at least half an hour.

He turned and walked back to the elevator.

“Jian Hang.” He knocked on the door lightly a few times.

At this time, Jian Hang was opening the gift from grandma. She didn’t expect Qin Moling to come back again. She picked up the keys of the sports car on the coffee table—she didn’t have time to return it to him earlier; she was stunned, and he left so fast.

Qin Moling loved fast cars; this should be his favorite. She could not in good conscience take away what other people loved.

Jian Hang opened the door, “Is there anything else?”

Qin Moling didn’t beat around the bush with her, “Lend me your car for one night.” He emphasized specifically, “Not the one I gave you.”

Jian Hang held out the car keys in her hand and handed it to him directly, “This car is too high-profile and is not suitable for me to drive.”

“There’s nothing inappropriate about it.” Qin Moling didn’t even look at the sports car keys. He couldn’t possibly take back a gift he already gave out.

“If it’s not convenient to borrow your car, I’ll take a taxi back.”

Jian Hang still understood a little bit about his temper. He was so determined that she just accepted the sports car without any further argument.

“Wait a minute.” She went back inside the house to get her own car keys.

Qin Moling didn’t go in; he stood by the door waiting for her.

The last time he sent her home was the night of their blind date. He stopped at the door and didn’t see what was inside her house. Now that the door was open, he took a few more glances.

Jian Hang’s house was not big: about 100 square meters. Qin Moling could see the overall layout at a glance. The decoration was in a minimalist wood style, and the color combination was very healing. There were actually not many things inside the house—everything was neatly stacked and organized, and the place was decorated with flowers and small potted plants. The whole house was very ornamental.

Qin Moling did not expect this kind of decoration style. It didn’t seem to match her personality.

Jian Hang came over again with her car keys, “It’s not as fast as your car.”

Qin Moling said, “It doesn’t matter.”

This time, Jian Hang was not in a hurry to close the door. She stood by the door and waited for his footsteps to fade.

This is just basic hospitality, she explained to herself.

Suddenly the footsteps from the corridor outside stopped; Jian Hang didn’t know why. Did he perhaps forget something again?

Qin Moling didn’t hear the door closing behind him. He turned around but didn’t see her. Only her shadow could be seen on the ground by the still-open door.

“Close the door,” he said.

Ah. Jian Hang responded and said, “Drive carefully.”

She closed the door and locked it.

Qin Moling made sure that she locked the door before walking towards the elevator again.

… …

Jian Hang’s car was white, and both the color and model of the car suited her. However, when Qin Moling sat inside, the space suddenly seemed cramped. Sitting upright, his head almost reached the roof of the car.

He adjusted his seat backwards and reluctantly shifted his legs.

Jian Hang’s car was just like her home: clean and fresh, without a single extraneous thing. There was a refreshing car perfume, similar to the smell in his car.

It wasn’t far from Jian Hang’s house to his residence, just twenty minutes’ drive.

Jian Hang’s apartment was located in an excellent location in the city, and many young people dreamed of living there but it eluded their reach. However, compared with the place where Qin Moling was staying, it wasn’t even comparable.

Qin Moling’s residence was as big as five or six of Jian Hang’s apartment. It was so big that even Qin Xing often got lost inside, going into the wrong rooms and not finding his way out until a long time after. Qin Xing has stayed there a few times and has often complained that he would never stay there again because he got too tired from walking.

This was why when Jian Hang first found out that her blind date was Qin Moling, she really had no intention of crossing paths with him. She had worked hard for so many years, and her entire net worth was only enough to buy two bedrooms in his apartment.

She was used to being in control, even in a virtual game world.

But Qin Moling was beyond her ability to control.

She had no idea how far Qin Moling was willing to go for their marriage. And because she didn’t know, she was not willing to give her emotions away easily. It would be difficult to take back spilled water, and the same was true for feelings.

If Qin Moling was willing to work on their marriage, then she was also willing. If Qin Moling was good to her, she would also be very good to him.

Her car was never lent out to anyone, but she lent it to Qin Moling tonight.

Qin Moling arrived downstairs at the apartment and handed the car keys to the property’s security guard for him to park the car.

The security guard told him: young Mr. Qin was waiting for him.

Young Mr. Qin was, of course, Qin Xing, and he was playing a game on his phone in the entrance hall.

“It’s already so late, if you don’t want to go home, why are you here?” Qin Moling stood before Qin Xing, one hand in his pocket.

He was tall, blocking the light, and Qin Xing became enshrouded in shadow.

“Older brother, wait.”

Qin Xing looked anxious, and the next second he was cursing himself.

He was knocked out by his opponent.

Within a few seconds, Lin Xiao was also beaten to death.

“Useless!” He scolded Lin Xiao.

“How could you scold me when you died earlier than me?”

Qin Moling had no patience to watch Qin Xing playing games and turned around to take the elevator.

“Ah, older brother, wait for me!” Qin Xing stopped watching the battle and trotted to catch up with Qin Moling.

Qin Moling didn’t even look at him, “If you have something to say, tell me quickly. After you finish talking, go somewhere else.”

“You think I want to come here? Grandma asked me to give the gift to you. Have you given it to sister-in-law? I have to go back and report the good work I did.” Grandma’s red envelope could not be taken in exchange for a half-hearted job.

“I sent it. You can go back now.”

Qin Xing followed Qin Moling into the elevator, “I’ll stay with you tonight.” It was a waste of time for him to go back. With the driving time on the road, it would be enough for him to play a few more games.

He called Lin Xiao. “Where’s Little Olive? Why isn’t she online yet?”

There was no sound from Lin Xiao’s end.

Qin Moling was familiar with the name ‘Little Olive’. Whenever Qin Xing played games, there was never a time when he didn’t mention this Little Olive.

Without Little Olive to carry him, Qin Xing would often be abused in the game.

After entering the apartment, Qin Xing lay down on the sofa and opened a video call with Lin Xiao. “Where the hell are you, Useless Lin?” he asked.

“What are you shouting for? I’m here!” Lin Xiao had just gone to the toilet and didn’t hear what Qin Xing said clearly, “Say it again.”

“What’s been happening with Little Olive? It’s already this late and she’s still not online!” Qin Xing asked him, “You haven’t added her on WeChat yet?”

“What can I do if she doesn’t want to add me?” Lin Xiao complained.

  1. And FL happened to be little olive. That’s so cliche. I knew it when they mentioned some mighty little olive. I knew she is gonna be FL.

  2. Ever considered she might be enjoying Valentine’s Day?

Tbh, how do the MCs get so much time to learn all these skills?
