[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 3.1 — Agreement

Jian Hang could easily chat with everyone in the Qin family, except Qin Moling.

Each one of them was warmer to her than him.

[Sister-in-law, please show us your marriage certificate and make us happy. Older brother said I should come to you if I need anything in the future (baring teeth) (baring teeth)]. Qin Xing took to heart what Qin Moling said just now: if they have anything to discuss, talk with Jian Hang.

Jian Hang had such photos on her phone, so she sent two of them directly to the Qin family group. Like Qin Moling, she didn’t like to share her private life in Moments, but family groups were an exception.

However, Qin Moling didn’t like sharing at all—even in the family group. If he posted his photos in the group for his family to appreciate, he’d be judged and even ridiculed. He felt extremely repelled by the thought.

By the time Qin Moling came out from the shower, his phone had received over a hundred messages in the group.

In the past, he had never scrolled up to read messages in his family group. It was all gossip and nonsense. It didn’t matter whether he read it or not. For the first time today, he leaned on the bedside and scrolled up to the point in the chat history where Jian Hang had just joined the group.

Then he saw the marriage certificate photos of himself and Jian Hang.

After scrolling through dozens more posts, no one teased him about his photos. It must be because of Jian Hang’s face that they were merciful to him.

Even so, Qin Moling still didn’t like to see his photos appearing in family groups. Marriage certificates were very private things. In his opinion, it didn’t matter whether others thought they looked good or not, as long as he and Jian Hang thought they looked good.

Qin Moling sent a private message to Jian Hang: [Don’t send my photos to the family group in the future.]

After waiting for three minutes, Jian Hang still hasn’t replied to him.

Qin Moling was sure that Jian Hang was looking at her phone: she was talking to Qin Xing in the group chat.

He had no choice but to @her in the family group: [Reply to my message.]

Jian Hang thought that Qin Moling had sent her something important, so she opened their chat box only to see that he asked her not to send any more photos of him.

[Then you should have told me earlier. I thought you brought me into the group so I could show off our marriage certificate] Otherwise Qin Xing wouldn’t have said ‘Older brother said I should come to you if I need anything in the future.’

Qin Moling: [I brought you into the group because we are now married.]

The implication was that he didn’t let her join the group to share photos.

Jian Hang: [Understood. If I post a group photo later, I will blur your face.]

Qin Moling: “…” [Can’t you talk to me properly?]

Jian Hang: [Sorry.]

She withdrew what she had just said about blurring his face.

He wasn’t someone like her, so jokes could not be made casually. She could joke with Qin Xing, but not with him.

[Mr. Qin, can you make it clear what can I say and cannot say when I am in the family group, including when I chat with you in the future?]

Qin Moling later realized that her words about blurring his face seemed to be joking with him, and so he also retracted his words, ‘Can’t you talk to me properly?’. [This matter is over and there will be no quarrels in the future.]

He added: [You can say whatever you want in the group. I just don’t like my photos shared in the group.]

From Jian Hang’s point of view, she only shared their marriage certificate with his own family and was criticized for it—she really couldn’t understand. [It’s you who said you don’t want to hide our marriage, and it’s you who brought me into the group. They are your family. They asked me to share our marriage certificate, it’s such a small thing, how can I refuse?]

Qin Moling felt that she had misunderstood him and explained: [“I’m not blaming you this time, I said don’t share any more photos in the future.”]

Jian Hang: [I won’t. I probably won’t have the chance to share photos again in the future.]

He would definitely not take wedding photos. If there was a wedding in the future, maybe Qin Moling would find someone to directly combine their photos to recreate the wedding scene.

Qin Moling didn’t know what to say, so he said, [“Go to bed early.”]

Jian Hang wanted to take advantage of the fact that both of them were free right now and discuss how to arrange their life after marriage.

She knew quite a few people who met and got married through blind dates, but none of them were in a situation similar to them. They had already received the certificate but were still no different from strangers.

She asked for his opinion: [Our married life, how do you plan to deal with our families in the future?]

Qin Moling understood what she meant. They didn’t live together and hardly saw each other. If the elders of the two families occasionally asked them how they were doing after getting married, she wouldn’t know how to answer.

Lying once in a while could still hide the truth, but it won’t work for the long haul.

Qin Moling thought about it for a moment. [A call every Wednesday.]

He asked: [What do you think?]

Jian Hang: [I have no objection.]

The next question was who should call whom first. Qin Moling would not be ungraceful in this kind of thing. He took the initiative and said: [Then I will call you, you decide the specific time.]

Jian Hang found that he was a little different from what she imagined. [Wednesday night at 10:30pm maybe. Starting next week.]

Qin Moling: [Okay.]

The two looked like good business partners, and in just a short time, they managed to reach a tacit cooperation agreement.

She conveniently changed Qin Moling’s WeChat display name.

Qin Moling said nothing else, and the chat ended there.

Jian Hang took out the marriage certificate in her bag and looked at it again. Regardless of whether there was love in this marriage, today had a different meaning to her. She ended her single life and entered another stage of life. It was strange, fresh and exciting.

There were countless cynical thoughts waiting for her but that was for later.

She put down her marriage certificate and ordered a bouquet of flowers online to celebrate by herself.

Over at Qin Moling’s, just after he finished chatting with Jian Hang, his mother called.

Because he @ Jian Hang in the family group, grandma saw that he and Jianhang were not together tonight, so she became worried and asked his mother to call him.

Shen Jingyun got straight to the point, “I heard from your grandma that the villa has been almost decorated.”

Qin Moling replied to his mother, “Yes, I know.”

He knew—he just hadn’t looked at it yet.

After he grew up, Qin Moling’s attitude towards marriage was the same as his attitude towards studying when he was a child, which gave Shen Jingyun a headache. Later, she simply looked away and let him do whatever he wanted.

But although she ignored Qin Moling’s attitude in this matter, the old master and the old lady of the Qin family couldn’t ignore it, so they organized a blind date for Qin Moling and introduced him to at least seven or eight blind dates, possibly even ten or more. He stood them all up; all these good blind date candidates ruined by him.

The only time he went on a blind date was with Jian Hang. He agreed to meet her, but Jian Hang didn’t go. She had fallen ill and was hospitalized, unable to go.

Qin Xing had said at the time, “One thing brings down another thing, and evil people will be punished by evil people.

Although the words didn’t convey the right meaning, it nevertheless meant something.

Shen Jingyun’s attitude towards her son’s marriage, in the words of others in the Qin family, was completely that of letting him do as he wished.

But she herself didn’t think she was being irresponsible by doing this. Qin Moling didn’t even want to see the wedding villa. Why should she worry about it? It wasn’t her wedding villa. When her son was a child, she gave him all the love and companionship he needed, and that was enough.

She thought that when her son grew up, he would definitely not like to have a nagging mother.

She still had so many shows and dramas waiting for her to watch, how could she have time to care about Qin Moling anymore.

Besides, some things cannot be managed by the family.

However, the old madam asked her to call Qin Moling and say that he should go and see the wedding room. Shen Jingyun still wanted to give the old madam face.

“When you have time, you and Jian Hang go to the villa to have a look. If there’s anything missing or you don’t like the layout, tell me then.” Of course, these were only polite words.

Even if there was something missing, it was useless to tell her. She didn’t even know where the villa was. The villa was a wedding gift from Qin Moling’s grandparents to their grandson and granddaughter-in-law. Shen Jingyun had never been there even once.

Qin Moling said, “Okay, Mom, I understand.”

The fact that her son agreed so readily made it difficult for Shen Jingyun to say anything more, which just saved her from giving a long speech.

He was like this every time.

Shen Jingyun didn’t want to waste any more of her time, “Be nice to Jian Hang and live a good life.”

She ended the call decisively.

  1. they truly are a pair of mother and son 😂 just doing what’s obligatory nothing less nothing more.

  2. Suddenly I’m reminded of some of my ugly teen pics. Sadness.

Also I got really fat, unhealthily so due to poor diet and not exercising anymore. 😭

I also wouldn’t want my photos shared in family chats.
