[MarriageFirstLoveLater] Chapter 2.2 — Solve Her Troubles

When she was about to get off work, the messages on her phone began coming in, one after another, and the family group chat became lively.

Her grandparents praised her and Qin Moling’s photos.

Her mother asked her if she has any entertainment plans tomorrow night.

Jian Hang: [Probably not.]

Mother: [Then will you and Moling go home for dinner tomorrow night? We can host a celebration for you.]

Jian Hang was looking forward to going home for dinner, but that didn’t mean Qin Moling would also be happy to celebrate. Maybe he had other arrangements and wasn’t free at all.

She first confirmed the schedule with Qin Moling: [Are you free tomorrow night? My mother wants us to go home for dinner.]

Qin Moling only replied to her with two words: [“No time.”]

Jian Hang: [Okay, I understand. You are busy.]

He didn’t give any explanation and didn’t reply to her again. Jian Hang processed this two-word sentence and sent a message to the family group chat: [Mom, Qin Moling doesn’t have time. He has a banquet tomorrow night and can’t not go to it. Let’s try another day.]

Mother: [Okay, let’s wait until you have time. Anyway, you’ll be celebrating tonight yourself. It doesn’t matter if we celebrate with you earlier or later.]

No wonder her mother asked them to go home tomorrow night. She thought Jian Hang would meet Qin Moling tonight to celebrate receiving the marriage certificate.

Actually, they wouldn’t.

Qin Moling didn’t marry her willingly, so how could he celebrate getting the certificate with her?

She didn’t know what other women’s plans were on the night they received their certificates. But as for her, her evening was no different from usual: working overtime at the company until eight o’clock before going home.

As soon as she entered her house, Pang Linbin called her.

“The matter between you and Gao Yu has been resolved. Qin Moling called everyone on our board of directors half an hour ago.”

Jian Hang was stunned. “What did Qin Moling say?”

“He said you two have known each other since childhood.”

Jian Hang was startled.

She and Qin Moling had met on a blind date.

She didn’t know him at all when they were kids.

“Qin Moling also said that the elders of your families had already planned to match you two up a long time ago. But because you two are too familiar with each other and have no plans to get married early, you have delayed getting the certificate until now.”

Qin Moling’s meaning was very clear: Jian Hang even delayed marrying him. How could she become Gao Yu’s lover just for a little profit?

He called Yinlin’s directors, not only to explain, but also to express his attitude. If there were any negative news about Jian Hang and Gao Yu, the one who would be most affected would not be Yinlin Capital, but him and the Qin family.

So Yinlin Capital had nothing to worry about: he would take care of the aftermath.

Qin Moling solved all of Jian Hang’s troubles with one phone call.

Pang Linbin was shocked when he learned that Jian Hang and Qin Moling were married.

He suddenly remembered, “You were in the hospital recently to hide from a blind date, this was Qin Moling?”

Jian Hang, “…Yeah.”

At that time, she had a high fever and acute gastroenteritis. She really did drink too much while socializing the night before, but she didn’t need to be hospitalized. However, she didn’t want to go on a blind date with Qin Moling, so she stayed in the hospital for a few days as an excuse.

But in the end, a second one was set up and she still wasn’t able to escape the fate of their blind date.

In the eyes of others, her family was so ordinary, and she was only able to marry into the Qin family because she had burned a lot of incense in her previous life.

Only she knew that by marrying Qin Moling, she would lose any personal sense of superiority. The gap between her and Qin Moling was simply too big. After working hard for so many years, with all her wealth combined, she could only buy two or three of his watches.

When she received the marriage certificate today, she caught a glimpse of the watch on Qin Moling’s wrist: it cost eight figures.

“Don’t belittle yourself, your ability is enough to match Qin Moling,” Pang Linbin comforted her. He then said, “We had a brief meeting just now and decided to leave this matter to you. You can handle Mr. Gao by yourself.”

“Thank you, Mr. Pang.”

“Don’t be in a hurry to thank me, I haven’t finished speaking yet. As for Mrs. Gao, don’t be angry when you resolve your grievances in private. I know you are wronged, but Jian Hang, you have to learn to weigh whether venting your anger is more important, or benefits and connections are more important. Resolve Mrs. Gao’s matter properly. After it’s done, it’s best that you can continue to use Gao Yu’s connections.”

“Okay, I understand.” Personal grievances were not important; the company’s interest was everything.

After hanging up the phone, Jian Hang took off her coat, hung it up, and went to the kitchen to pour water.

After drinking half a glass of water, she came to her senses. It turned out that when Qin Moling looked at her at the door of the Civil Affairs Bureau, he was thinking about how to help her deal with the aftermath.

Except for Boss Pang, all the board members of Yinlin were either European or American. Qin Moling may not know all of them, so he still needed to find friends to connect with them.

Qin Moling also lied for her.

She was not familiar with him at all. The day of the blind date was the first time they had met each other in their lives.

There was no such thing as the elders of their two families always trying to bring them together.

Qin Moling was just a former student of her mother, who was a primary school teacher. Qin Moling had had no contact with her mother anymore after graduating from primary school.

Jian Hang thanked Qin Moling: [Thank you for helping me solve such a big trouble.]

Qin Moling: [You’re welcome.]

Half a minute later, he sent another message: [Don’t worry, I did this for the sake of the Qin family and myself.]

Jian Hang understood what he meant. [I know. Don’t worry, I won’t misunderstand that you like me or anything just because you helped me.] She understood herself and would not be sentimental.

[Still, thank you very much.]

… …

Qin Moling stared at the phone screen for a few seconds without replying, then he threw the phone down and went to take a shower.

Before he even reached the bathroom door, his phone vibrated twice.

He paused, seemingly hesitant, and finally turned back to look at his phone.

Thinking that Jian Hang was explaining again, he clicked on the phone and saw the message was from his cousin, Qin Xing: [Older Brother, didn’t you and sister-in-law get your marriage certificates today?]

Qin Moling: [Yeah. What’s wrong?]

[I didn’t see you post it on Moments.]

[Do you think I am the same as you?]

Qin Xing didn’t like hearing this at all. [What’s wrong with me liking to post on Moments? That’s called loving life, do you understand?]

He was not at all interested in whether his older cousin posted in Moments or not, but he was asked by his grandma to confirm whether his cousin and Jian Hang had received the certificates today. Grandma was afraid that his cousin would fool the family and claim to have received them, when in fact they have not.

[If you don’t post it on Moments, at least post it in the family group chat so that we can celebrate.]

It was impossible for a person like Qin Moling to send his marriage certificate to the group chat. He opened the family group chat and left a message: [In the future, you can discuss matters related to us as a couple with Jian Hang, and whatever she says will be on my behalf.]

Then, he directly pulled Jian Hang into the group chat.

Dozens of people in the Qin family group welcomed Jian Hang.

Of course, Jian Hang just came in and couldn’t see Qin Moling’s previous message.

  1. Good that hubby is helping protect her reputation, but also rip. Her saying that marrying him basically would crush her pride some is unfortunate.
