[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 38.2 — Day 13 (Copycat Dessert)

“You can get in touch with several car companies in City S,” Cheng Liu said to He Bai who was already sitting in front of her desk as soon as she came in.

She stayed on the seventh floor for almost the entire day, discussing with researchers and modifying the system code. She was busy until about five o’clock in the afternoon, and it was only then that she returned to her office on the twenty sixth floor.

“Okay.” He Bai stood up and asked her, “Are you ready to contact car companies for cooperation?”

Cheng Liu nodded, “The problem with the system is almost solved. Go and prepare the materials for a meeting.”

Shenyin Technology was currently in the process of producing AI components for automobiles. The most important thing was to seek cooperation.

Last time, the car company in City G had ended the cooperation because of the lack of good results.

“President Cheng…” He Bai hesitated, then suddenly asked Cheng Liu, “Does the company have any new plans?”

He was usually the first to know if there were any new plans for the company, but recently Cheng Liu hasn’t mentioned anything to him.

“New plan?” Cheng Liu was stunned for a moment, then remembered. She walked up to He Bai and said seriously, “There is indeed one, but it will take some time. When it succeeds, I will tell you first.”

The plan she was referring to was to make Ji Chaozhou her boyfriend.

“Okay, then I’ll wait for you to tell me,” He Bai agreed with a smile. Cheng Liu was indeed preparing a new plan.

Only he could understand her.

Cheng Liu went to desk, took her backpack and walked towards the door again, saying casually to He Bai, “I’m going back first, you get off work early.”

She was no longer that workaholic. Young President Cheng has now learned to clock in and get off work on time.

He Bai stood in front of the desk and said, “I’ll sort out the information for a while longer.”

Cheng Liu opened the glass door and waved back, “I’ll go now. Goodbye.”

Cheng Liu directly went back to the villa. On the way, she stopped at a dessert shop, planning to queue up to buy two boxes of desserts.

When she was on the seventh floor earlier today, she saw the employee who had previously printed his chat history with his girlfriend showing off the cake bought by that same girlfriend for him.

His girlfriend—oh, no, she was already his fiancée, and they planned to get married on May Day.

Anyway, his fiancée queued up to buy two pieces of dessert and delivered them to the door of the company in person at noon.

The employee went down to get it. He explained how popular the dessert shop was and how hard it was to buy the desserts there, but he was clearly showing off.

Young President Cheng refused to admit that she was a little jealous.

She didn’t actually want to eat it, she just wanted to know how popular that dessert shop was.

When Cheng Liu got off the car, she saw the long queue at the dessert shop and fell silent: it was indeed very popular.

And the people standing in line were all couples.

Young President Cheng: “…”

She really felt envious.

Cheng Liu stood there for a while and waited until she could reach the front of the queue. Today, the employee’s fiancee bought two of the most classic signature desserts—a must-eat for couples!

Young President Cheng was moved.

She also wanted to buy it for the person she liked and eat it with him!

Just as she was about to reach the front of the queue, the couple in front of her ordered the two most classic desserts.

The clerk leaned out and said to the queue behind them, “The classic desserts are all sold out today.”

Ah! They’re all gone?

There were complaints in the queue, some people left one after another, and some planned to buy other desserts.

Only the couple who bought the last two classic desserts looked happy.

Seeing this, Cheng Liu immediately asked the two lovers next to him, “Do you want to sell these desserts for nine hundred and ninety-nine?”

She must buy it today!

The young couple was stunned when they heard that the price she was willing to pay them had increased ten times the original.

The couple looked at each other and made a quick decision. They handed the desserts in their hands to Cheng Liu and said, “We’ll sell!”

Cheng Liu successfully carried two boxes of desserts to the car and went home.

… …

As soon as she parked the car, Cheng Liu happily took the desserts and went next door to ring the doorbell.

Ji Chaozhou had just returned. He looked at the person in front of the display monitor. His eyebrows furrowed slightly and he was silent for a moment. Finally, he elected to open the door, then turned around and walked out.

When Cheng Liu saw the door open, she immediately picked up the pink boxed and said cheerfully, “Shall we have dessert together?”

Ji Chaozhou didn’t reply to her words, instead he said to Cheng Liu, “The doorbell is very noisy.”

Then he turned and walked towards the living room.

Cheng Liu was stunned for a moment, then her eyes fell on the door lock. When she saw the fingerprint recording interface, her eyes lit up. She happily pressed her finger on it, recorded her fingerprints twice, and immediately chased Jo Chaozhou inside.

“I went to work in the company today,” Cheng Liu took the initiative to report her day’s itinerary.

Those middle-aged business partners  of hers that their wives like it when they take the initiative to report their itinerary.

Cheng Liu was determined to be a good girlfriend—even though she still hasn’t caught her boyfriend yet.
