[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 34.1 — (Day 11) Struck By An Idea

In the private box, Ji Chaozhou’s eyes occasionally fell on Cheng Liu to confirm that she was still breathing.

Because Cheng Liu had been lying there sleeping for an hour and a half, motionless.

If it weren’t for the slight ups and downs of her breathing, it would be easy to think that something was wrong with her.

The waiter had come in three times already. The last time he came in, he said that the dishes were completely cold, some dishes could not be reheated, and the kitchen was about to close.

Ji Chaozhou only asked him to go out, leaving the room again in peace and quiet.

Across from him, Cheng Liu was still sleeping, her face leaning on her forearm. A strand of hair fell on the side of her face. Her eyelashes were thick and long, like two small fans on her cheeks. Sleeping like this, she looked a little more childish.

Although Ji Chaozhou had never much felt that Cheng Liu was particularly mature.

At this time, Cheng Liu, who had been asleep on the table, suddenly opened her eyes and woke up like a switch had been turned on. She straightened up instantly, seamlessly connecting to the mental state prior sleeping. She looked at Ji Chaozhou and said nonchalantly, “Is the performance over?”

Indeed, Young President Cheng thought she had only closed her eyes for a short while.

Ji Chaozhou looked at her cheerful eyes: “…”

Perhaps some people were gifted this way.

Ji Chaozhou got up, and in the candlelight that filled the room, his tall and slender figure became more and more beautiful. He turned his head to look at Cheng Liu who was still sitting there and said calmly, “The restaurant is closing.”

Cheng Liu was confused. “They’re closing?”

She finally realized something and took out her phone to check the time.

Cheng Liu suddenly stood up. The chair was pushed back with a squeaking noise, and she stared down at her phone intently.

9:56!

She slept the two most important hours of her life away!

Young President Cheng was confused and stood rooted on the spot. She obviously just closed her eyes for a moment, so why was the entire date night gone?

Guyu Restaurant was open from 7 to 10 pm, and the kitchen closed half an hour earlier.

She had no chance now!

By the time  Cheng Liu finally accepted that the time on her phone was correct, Ji Chaozhou had already walked out. She hurried after him.

The restaurant was already preparing to turn off its lights.

Cheng Liu followed Ji Chaozhou step by step, cautiously asking, “Do you want to go home?”

Ji Chaozhou slowed down and turned his face halfway to look at her, “Go home.”

“Oh.” Cheng Liu felt disappointment settle in her gut and quietly followed him out.

Young President Cheng, who had always been quick to think on her feet, suddenly felt like an eggplant beaten by frost when their ‘date’ ended tragically.

On the drive home, it was unusually quiet inside the car.s

That was until they were nearing the villa and a long ‘gururuu’ sound broke the silence.

Ji Chaozhou turned to look at Cheng Liu who was driving, and his eyes moved down to her belly.

Cheng Liu: “…” An unsatisfactory brain, an unsatisfactory belly!

Ji Chaozhou looked away and looked at the supermarket not far away. “You can buy something to cook at home.”

Cheng Liu’s eyes lit up, “Is that possible?”

She asked Ji Chaozhou if she could stop the car, and he nodded in agreement.

Cheng Liu immediately parked the car on the side of the road and said happily, “Then you stay here for a while.”

Within ten minutes, she came out of the supermarket with large and small bags, put the things in the trunk, and then got back in the car.

Ji Chaozhou said, “Let’s go back.”

Ji Chaozhou looked at Cheng Liu, who was suddenly so refreshed she could be humming, and frowned: “…”

Just bought something to eat and now so happy?

Soon the two of them arrived at the doors of the villa. Cheng Liu parked the car in front of the door of Villa No. 5. Ji Chaozhou opened the door and got out of the car.

The door was remotely controlled. He took out the key and pressed it, and the door slowly opened.

Ji Chaozhou had only taken two steps in when Cheng Liu followed behind him carrying the large and small bags. She said to him with great interest, “I haven’t cooked anything before, I will learn how to do it later.”

Ji Chaozhou suddenly stopped and turned to look into Cheng Liu’s eyes. “Do you plan to have dinner here right now?”

Cheng Liu was completely surprised. “But you said we could do it at home.”

Young President Cheng subconsciously thought that the two of them were one family.

Ji Chaozhou: “…”

He pressed the door button and walked into the living room, ignoring her.

To Cheng Liu, Ji Chaozhou’s non-rejection was acceptance.

She followed quickly, took the initiative to walk into the kitchen, put on her apron, searched for recipes, and started cooking.

The vegetables bought in the supermarket were all pre-cleaned and cut as semi-finished ingredients, and they could already be stir-fried.

Cheng Liu watched the video and memorized all the steps.

It went smoothly at the beginning. Cheng Liu could smell the tantalizing aroma of the food, and her confidence increased greatly. Then she was struck by an idea, and she began to draw inferences from one example to make full use of her experience.

Ji Chaozhou sat on the sofa in the living room and picked up the book on the floor. He read through a few pages until an indescribable smell wafted from the kitchen.

“What are you doing?” Ji Chaozhou walked into the kitchen and looked at Cheng Liu who was standing in front of the gas stove in a daze.

Cheng Liu turned around and hesitated. She shouldn’t have had an idea.

Ji Chaozhou first frowned when he saw the pink apron she was wearing with a cartoon in front, and when he got closer, he saw an unknown black object in the wok—obviously the source of the strange, burnt smell.

“…”

“Maybe something happened. A chemical reaction occurred,” Cheng Liu explained with a guilty conscience.

The two looked at each other for a moment, and finally Ji Chaozhou poured out the contents of the wok and cleaned it.

Cheng Liu squatted next to him, took out her phone, and with a serious face, searched for the reason for her failure.

Ji Chaozhou put the wok back on the gas stove, took hold of the bag of cut vegetables, and closed his eyes. “Cheng Liu, video.”

He shouldn’t have let her in from the beginning.

Cheng Liu, who was squatting on the floor, looked up and instantly understood what Ji Chaozhou meant. He immediately opened the recipe and showed him the video.

She took out a blue apron from one of the bags on the kitchen cabinet. “Do you want this? There would be oil splashing.”

She also bought this pair in the supermarket just now.

Ji Chaozhou’s eyes fell on the cartoon cat on the blue apron. He was silent for a long time, and finally chose to take it.
