[WrongThenWrong] Chapter 33.1 — Day 11 (Office Play)

Shenyin Technology, parking lot.

As soon as Cheng Liu got out of the car, someone called her.

“Senior sister.”

Cheng Liu turned around and saw He Bai coming from behind.

He probably also just left his car. He was only wearing a white shirt and a loose tie. The black suit jacket was draped on his right arm and a mechanical watch was on his left hand. It had a platinum case with a gradient, charcoal-gray dial, a diamond inlaid at the 12 o’clock position, and blue cowhide leather wrapped around the wrist—everything reflected how expensive it was in every aspect.

Cheng Liu’s eyes stayed on his left wrist for a second longer.

He Bai walked to Cheng Liu’s right, raised his left hand slightly, and asked carefully, “Is there something wrong with the watch?”

Although the annual salary of the Chief Assistant of Shenyin Technology was not low, what He Bai wore everyday still far exceeded the salary for such position.

He Bai had always hoped that Cheng Liu would pay attention when he changed his outfits, but considering how Cheng Liu talked about his new eyeglasses last time, he wasn’t sure what she was thinking right now.

“It’s quite nice.” Cheng Liu walked over and asked casually, “New watch?”

Hope arose in He Bai’s heart. It was the first time she had praised something on his body, and she noticed that he had changed his watch. His adam’s apple moved, and he said, “It’s Patek Philippe’s latest offering; do you like it?”

Cheng Liu turned around and looked again, “Not bad.”

When she saw He Bai wearing a watch, she suddenly remembered that Ji Chaozhou had nothing on his wrist.

Although Ji Chaozhou hands look good even if he didn’t wear anything, since everyone else had them, this should include her future boyfriend.

“I’ll have to ask you when I need to buy a watch next time,” Cheng Liu said after walking into the elevator.

He Bai spends three hundred and sixty-five days a year, like a butterfly, wearing various watches and eyeglasses; Cheng Liu knew this very well.

“Why do you suddenly want to buy a watch?” He Bai asked, standing behind Cheng Liu.

Cheng Liu said with a serious look on her face, “For a better life in the future.”

He Bai: “?”

Sometimes, or rather most of the time, he couldn’t keep up with Cheng Liu’s thinking.

The elevator fell silent for a moment.

Cheng Liu, who was standing in front of him, looked at the rising numbers in the elevator and suddenly said, “Do you think I should change offices?”

“Why do you suddenly want to change offices?” He Bai was puzzled.

Cheng Liushen said erratically, “The current floor is too high, and it takes a lot of time to go up. I think the second floor is good.”

What if Ji Chaozhou comes to see her in the future?

The office should be relocated to the second floor so he can come up.

When her future boyfriend goes to the office to see her…

Young President Cheng couldn’t help but think about it, and her mind grew filled with lascivious images.

“I can make arrangements for it.” He Bai felt that it was normal for Cheng Liu to say this because she was a workaholic after all and would want to save some time.

“There’s no rush.” Cheng Liu cleared her brain of improper thoughts and said seriously, “I’ll let you know later, then you can have a separate office.”

He Bai frowned, “I already have a separate office now, and it’s close to you so it’s easy to report.”

“We usually communicate over the office intranet if we have anything to do, so you don’t really need to be too close to my office.” Cheng Liu didn’t think so before, but now she felt that her office that was made entirely of transparent glass had no privacy.

When Ji Chaozhou comes in the future, what should she do if she wants to kiss him?

Cheng Liu pondered this bit in her mind. It really wouldn’t be good if someone saw them doing ‘office play’1.

With high expectations for the future, Young President Cheng walked into her office and started a new day of hard work.

Cheng Liu, who never used to tire of her work, felt that time passed extremely slowly today and that the workload was extremely heavy.

While she was working hard, she was also thinking of their date in the evening.

Although… it was only a date from one side’s perspective.

After slogging it through until 6 pm, Cheng Liu finally finished approving the last document at hand. She immediately stood up and walked out of the office.

Cheng Liu said ‘goodbye’ to He Bai as she strode out. “I’m done, Chief Assistant He. You can go, too.”

He Bai raised his head and pushed up his eyeglasses. By the time he came to his senses, he could only see Cheng Liu’s rapidly retreating back.

He always felt that something strange has happened to her recently, but it’s clearly not related to Wang Hongyang. Besides work, what else could it be related to?

… …

It was already 7pm when Cheng Liu got home.

The villas were not close to Shenyin Technology. It also happened to be the rush hour today, and there was a traffic jam.

She parked her car directly in front of Villa No. 5 and did not bother to go home.

Cheng Liu got out of the car, raised her hand, and rang the doorbell. “Neighbor, I’m back from work!”

No one inside responded, and the door didn’t open.

Cheng Liu looked towards the villa. No lights were on. Was he not there?

Before Cheng Liu could feel lost, the lights in the living room suddenly turned on.

When the doorbell rang, Ji Chaozhou was lying on the sofa, on his side, asleep. The book he had been reading that afternoon had fallen out of his hands and down to the floor.

His sleep wasn’t peaceful. When the bell rang, he managed to open his eyes a few seconds later, but he was still not fully awake.

Ji Chaozhou propped his hand on the sofa. It was dark. He slowly stood up, turned on the light in the living room, and then buzzed to open the door outside the villa.

He didn’t even look to see who was outside but instinctively knew it was Cheng Liu.

As soon as the door of the villa opened, Cheng Liu walked in excitedly. It was the first time since they had known their true identities that they were going to have dinner together. She was looking forward to it.

“You…” Cheng Liu was about to ask him if he was ready, but she saw Ji Chaozhou standing there and suddenly lost her words.

Because he had just gotten up from the sofa, Ji Chaozhou’s clothes were a little messy, and his left collar was slightly open, leaving his long and slender neck half-exposed.

When he heard Cheng Liu’s footsteps coming in, he looked up casually, a bit languidly, his eyes still full of sleep drunkenness.

At that moment, Cheng Liu’s proud mind went blank.

She thought about everything and nothing at all.

At the same time, Ji Chaozhou was also sobering up, and his eyes fell on Cheng Liu.

She still had the same hastily put-on look, and the strings on her hoodie were uneven, one side high and the other low on her chest, which was worse than when she left in the morning. There were obviously a few more black writings on the cuffs.

The only thing that hasn’t changed was the pair of black eyes, which always seemed to be lit brightly from within.

  1. ‘Office play’ is ‘role play’ in the sexual sense. Because Young President Cheng has impure thoughts 😂 ↩︎
